@guyverunit1 agreed. But an Imanari with the build of Palhares would be too terrifying for the world!

Also, Imanari really is just a leg lock specialist. There are many superior grapplers overall than him out there, especially if weight is not an issue, e.g. Aoki.

The same could not easily be said for Palhares. That guy is as tough as they come and has the speed and top-game dominance of a top wrestler. Leg locks are just an awesome finisher for him, his entries are just as scary!

@guyverunit1 Most of Imanari's wins are also heel hooks. IIRC has maybe one kneebar and a couple of toe holds but the rest are heel hooks so might as well say he primarily does the same lock as well.

@ghotter It is kinda frowned upon in Grappling, but his BJJ is so exciting period. He is always looking for a crafty finish. His armbar over Ivan was the best sub transition I have ever seen.

@sTalnaker13 true, it is foul of me to say he has no jits game. he does have some super slick transitions. and he is highly respected. i guess i just never respected a heel hook simply because when i first started bjj that was my kryptonite.

@ghotter yes, very foul. His guard game is great and i'm sure his passing is just fine. If he's getting to the finals of ADCC he most definitely has a jiu jitsu (pleeease everyone stop saying jits) game.
