  • nice shot! good job dialing that thing in.. there are too many experts out there lol.. before you comment, ask yourself these questions... what exactly is this person trying to prove?? and what does the description of the video say?? hmm.. i don't see "worlds greatest sniper rifle" anywhere... anyway, while watching i thought, wow i would be afraid to be anywhere in front of the muzzle, especially downrange. but i didn't know you were behind a dozer.. have fun!! btw i have 2 336s, and i love 'em

  • That was a good shot with high winds. Its always funny to read the comments on anything that has to do with guns, because everyone else thinks they are the expert. Anyway, thanks for sharing.

  • @chasehynson Lol, I hear ya...Thanks.

  • mate u should be behind the shooter. if no one is in front of the gun no one can get shot. safety first with our awesome sport. bloody good shot though

  • @The3030Jack Ya I know its not a wise choice I made, but I was behind a 30 ton dozer.

  • I put a few posts on this one. Do the research if you want to see them. This vid is a great shot at 100 yards. Great sighting in of the gun/scope. Thanks for posting it. But for the facts, the 30-30 is no 200+ yard rifle for effective killing of game. Say what you want. I live in Iowa and hunt everything from squirrel to deer, and even mule deer, elk, and moose at my friends place in Montana. It's fun to quarter a elk/moose with a chain saw and pack it out on quads or foot! Thanks for the vid.

  • This coming from a guy who shoots stuff at point blank range........LOL

  • @pluggap Since you hung your comments out there for the world to see, I figure I have the same right to post mine. You really need to go to school to get an education. On the weapon necessary to hunt moose with, you have not one clue in that 'purty' little head of yours. So before you jump on your little keyboard cause you're all insulted an such, think about hunting up close and in person with a bow. You like most, need a big rifle and a bigger scope...cause you git skeered.

  • lol.......ya really had to be there pal.

  • you stood back for someone to take the shot? wtf...........do you wanna die?

  • Did you happen to hear the 2-way radios? That wasn't me shooting dumb ass! They say fish is brain food....should try it sometime.

  • it only took you 10 seconds to walk 300 feet . THAT WASNT 100 yards

  • @LUVMAGNUMGUNS2 His dad shot the rifle "facepalm*

  • @mryesterday oh yeah they were talking on cbs

  • Y'all are some gay losers arguing over the 30/30. That round sucks! Lol nah jk I love my 30/30 very sweet brush gun for me...of course I'm not one who's skilled at extreme long range shooting.but I have killed a black bear at 435 yards before but that was with a 300win mag so that doesn't count lol

  • @191145Bitch yeah my 30/30 fucken kicks ass. My 35 rem is even nicer!

  • I agree the 7mm magnum is a wicked rifle, I hunt moose with one myself. But Mr. Rifle man, if youcan`t shot anything over 200 yards with a 30-30, you better go back to your little military school. Better yet come up to New Brunswick. We`ll show you how to shoot!.....Just saying

  • @pluggap that guy is dumb i was in the military myself and a 30-30 will got out to 500 yards 300 yards is about the max pinpoint accuracy, but still you can push the round out pretty far and much further than the commonly believed ranges even more so now withthe new hornady lever evolution ammo. :)

  • @pluggap JCrain03...I agree with you 150%.

  • I have a 30-30 Winchester model 94, the original. And also a cheap Savage 7mm Remington Magnum. There is no comparison. I spent 6 years in the USMC. I was a rifleman. Expert on the range, 6 out of 6. 26 MEU SOC. The USMC is the only military force that shoots and qualifies from 500 meters. 30-30 is a hard hitting short range round. It is not as accurate, and will not reach out to 200+ yards. 7mm Rem mag will go beyond 400 meters. It is a Magnum round. Do you know what that means? More punch!

  • @gsbacorn then you should know that a 30-30 can go out to 300 with enough pinpoint accuracy to hit anything your aming at if the skill of the shoot permits it.

  • @JCrain03 Okay, they will shoot that distance but not consistantly accurate, and they definiatly are not effective at that distance. I'm not on here to argue with you. Think what you want. I know how to shoot. I have shot 500 yards to qualify expert for the USMC multiple times.

  • @gsbacorn oh so you qualified with a 30-30 then huh? no you shot a m16 or an m4, that doesnt make you an expert in rifles and all things shooting get off you fucking high horse you idiot, the 30-30 round has killed more game in north america than any other cartdrige on thge planet look it up, oh and btw being an expert marksmen in the usmc isnt all that hard man you have a perfect set up and you are able to just lay there watch the videos of guys poping 500 yard steel shoots with a 30-30

  • @JCrain03 I have a 30-30 and I am familier with it. In fact I have shot it quite alot, I like that gun. I do have the skills to shoot the distances the round and rifle permits! I was trained as an armorer in the USMC, I do know a bit about many different rounds! I did not realize that you are the expert you say you are, sorry. I have a few different website addresses you may want to check out. 127 inches of drop at 500 yards and 347 FTLBS of energy! What will that effectivly stop?

  • @JCrain03 And as far as the 30-30- round, you are correct, it has killed more game, and more people than any other round. As far as the USMC qualifying, you have no clue what it takes, are you a Marine? It is not the perfect set-up! What ever the weather is you shoot, you shoot the rifle they give you, and as far as ammo, yeah, they have the absolute best quality, top notch ammo ever made. And one more, the M-16's, they are brand new, never been touched! They are difiniatly NOT worn out POS's!

  • @gsbacorn I was FMF corpsman jarhead so fuck off and another thing your figures are a little off a 160 hornady 30-30 round will retain 639 ft/lbs out to 500 yards and it has over 800 at 400 yards and is only 36 inches low so i don't care what you say you are were, or whatyouthink you know end of story

  • @JCrain03 OK. I sent you the websites to check out! And even at 3 feet low at 500 yards?!? You think you can shoot that accurately? Come on brother give it up!

  • @JCrain03 WTF does a corpsman know about rifles and rounds anyway! You aren't even close on this one loser! Sure you can "jack" up the loads and bullets. That still doesn't mean it is effective at 500 fucking yards!

  • @JCrain03 They aren't my figures, it is websites that I googled, and they are ALL on the first page!

  • @JCrain03 30-30 is a great round for what it is intended for, but that is not a 500+ yard round. Ask anyone on here! even the guy that made the video. Why would it not be a 30-30 Marlin at 500 yards? Because, they are not consistantly accurate and effective at that range!

  • @gsbacorn that was never my point, you were claimingthe 30-30 was only good for a 100 yard shot if you scroll back up i never said it was used as a 500 yard round i said 300 yards was the max range for it, secondly a fleet marine force corpsmanie is train in the same basic weapons systems thata marine is you shoudl know that, and yes it does mean that the round can be effective at 400 yards if you skill is high enough.

  • @JCrain03 You need to look back through the posts. The 30-30 is a "lob" round! At 300 yards the projectory is like a rainbow! It can be shot accuratly and effectivley out to about 200 yards max! It just does not have the POWER! Look it up for yourself. I posted a site that stated a drop of 127 inches at 500 yards, that was zero at 100 yards! I have a model 94 that i have shot thousands of round out of, it is an awesome fifle! Look up the stats before you post $h!t!!!

  • @gsbacorn you sir a a complete fucking retard go look at a box of lever evolution amuniton, hell go use a ballistics chart zero the 160 hornady round at 200 yards and you can go out to 300 every time effectivly and accuratly thousands of ppl shoot that way and id bet much better than you, you are a bully and a liar, the word your searching for is trajectory not projectory, i though you were a pro at this? anyhow i own a 30-30 and i have shot thousands of rounds myself, i know what im saying

  • @JCrain03 I know every bullet arches. My point is that a 30-30 round would look like a rainbow. You said it yourself it has over 3 foot of drop at that range. Get a life loser! I finally agree with you, 30-30 is the absolute best long range round ever! There is nothing that has ever and will ever shoot more accurately. Hell, it can even shoot out to 1,000 yards!

  • @gsbacorn well your only showing how lame you are, first off i said the rifle was good for a 300 yard kill shot, maybe 400, second I said it could be pushed out to 500 yards I never said it was effective or usefull at 500 yards, third you are still and idiot if you think that the 30-30 doesnt shoot flat, fourth i never wanted you to agree with me i just don't like fucking idiot know it all wanna be tough guys throwing there weight around.

  • @JCrain03 Let it go man! When you kill something at 300+ yards, take a pic and post it! I have shot at ALOT of deer at 250+ yards. I have never dropped one! I already said you can jack up and load the ammo hot and get some decent groups, but they are not effective for killing. Even Wikipedia says in the first paragraph of use, that it is only effective on deer sized game @200 yards! Do some research before you "spew" stuff! I agree it's a great round! But it will not kill at 300-500 yards!

  • @gsbacorn Did you really just quote wikipedia? lol ok then. I never said it would killpast 300yards, and when I drop my buck this year yet again with a 30-30 ill make sure its at 300 just for you, the round has been improved deal with it. the ballistic coefficient of the hornady round is .330 almost twice that of the regular round at .186 and around .150ish you should understand that means it has a great ability to retain killing power out to 300 yards, I have done the reaserach!

  • @gsbacorn and i hate to tell you ever round has a ranbow or curved flight path

  • @JCrain03 It took a long time for you to post that you were in the corps. I am a proud Sargent in the USMC! As I stated, I spent 6 years in the Corps! 1 year, 1 month, and 1 day overseas! I have been in 4 different "conficts" and "down range" in Iraq and Kosovo. I served during the time "Black Hawk Down" was filmed/about! As I stated before, I was with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Special Operation Capable, or 26th MEU SOC! We were a self contained unit. Had everything covered!

  • @gsbacorn i bet you guys were all packing 30-30 right?

  • @gsbacorn "Why would it not be a 30-30 Marlin at 500 yards? "

There is a video suggested on the right, "Marlin 336, 30-30 at 500 yards".

  • @gsbacorn As an Army sniper that owns a 336w in 30-30 I can tell you you're dead wrong. If it's not shooting consistently, it's your error, not the rifle.

  • @mryesterday You are totally correct. I am dead wrong. It is my error, not the rifle. I am possibly the dumbest person to walk the earth. I am thankful you brought this to my attention. The 30-30 is the most accurite lomg distance round ever made. This is my last comment on this, because I am really getting down on being wrong. One last time, 30-30 is the most accurite round ever! Thanks for your time. I will not post anymore on this issue. Sorry Mr Sniper. Semper Fi. Sorry you aren't a Marine!

  • Comment removed

  • @JCrain03 Check out gunnersden and whitetaildeer-management-and-hunting and thefiringline websites! They all give some pretty accurite ballistics. I could not post the entire website, so you will have to add the w and . com

  • @gsbacorn Snipers qualify at more than 500 meters. You're blowing a lot of smoke that's no where near the truth.

  • Nice shot

  • nice i just got one yesterday can't wait

  • Well put bud! I agree 100%

  • In Canada the law is your gun has to be registered and you must have a P.A.L. (possession and acquisition licence) in order to carry the rifle and ammo.

  • @pluggap Hum... Do criminals obey that law? I'll bet ya that they don't. Lol. & if that's the case, that pretty much makes for an ineffective feel good bull shit law. Good gun laws should protect the good guys & punish the bad guys, & that law tends to lump the good guys with the bad guys, punishing them both. Well, what can I say, those law-maker fellows ain't exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer. Fire them, & hire smarter law-makers. Make them think for their living!

  • it didnt look safe, but i'll tell you what, either your dad was in some military branch, or he just has a mean shot with his 30/30 which i bet he had one as a kid growing up. Good shooting, really nice vid.

"People tend to fear what they dont understand, now tell me, did you know its legal to carry a firearm without a permit?" remember to check your state laws.

  • That didn't look real safe.

  • @RunThemAll I set the camera on the plywood and stood way back.

  • @pluggap I dought you were in the actual shooting lane but you should still never have been in front of the muzzle, awesome video though.

  • Freakin' awesome shooting.

I'm guessing your rifle is scoped?

    5 stars

  • Yes, It has a 3x9x40mm Bushnell on it.
