  • the third ring is for the mic and volume change, it shouldnt affect the volume on your kindle though

  • Rings separate the different electrodes on the plug. Three rings mean three different electrodes. The tip is not used for any electrode, I think.

  • I find it odd that you said the volume dosen't raise and lower on these...The standard 3 button headphones that aren't noise cancelling made by Mac work fine...All buttons work as they are intended to.

Maybe yours worked fine in a newer model Iphone...I think the volume and mic is suppose to work on these and designed for both Iphone and Ipod.

  • Nice review. I love review on products. It give you a better ideal. I bought a pair of fake in ear apple headphones a synch cord, a car charger that USB for the synch cord and a USB wall charger. All for 15 bucks free shipping. From eBay. It took about 5 days for it to arrive. Everything works perfect. My volume button works on my iPhone 3GS just fine.

  • One of the rings is for the mic

  • They fixed it. The volume control works with the iPhone now.

  • How do you find the bass?

  • Lol I got mine of of ebay for $20...no promblems they are awesome!

  • @Night8owl I was considering buying a pair from eBay. Would you recommend them? $19 bucks seems like a great price.

  • @q9308 JVC marshmellows are fine if u dont care about sound quality. If you dont care about sound quality why are you watching this video?

  • you payed way too much. they suck

  • hey, what about the middle part of the remote?? the pause button does it work on the iphone? can it work in the iphone 4?

  • hey, what about the middle part of the remote?? the pause button does it work on the iphone?

  • By the way, can you tell me the model of your iPhone case? Cheers.

  • by the way i use JVC marshmellow earphones and im content with those

  • $79 for just earphones in fancy packaging

  • Great Review, you covered just about everything.

  • Soldierknowsbest ;)

  • is the jack gold plated?

  • Buy a-jays four once they are out!

  • don't get these, get the beats by dre ibeats, they are 100x better then these

  • I've had these for about a year and a half and I love them! They're not the best out there of course, but they are very nice.

  • These headphones are terrible, too much treble, not enough bass. SOOO uncomfortable in the ears using all three tips. I cant believe i wasted $90 on these peice of shit headphones. :/ BEATS BY DR DRE ARE THEE BEST. Apple cant make headphones for shit!

  • Hows the cable been holding up? I'm a bit concerned about that because near all the connections it seems to have the same quality as the cheap stock iPod earbuds.

  • See, I'm one of those weird people that needs to keep everything the same, and these head-phones, useless, but because they are Apple and are the same company as my iPod, I'm buying them! I'm such an Apple fan!

  • Good review, shit product... Oh well...

  • Metal conducts electric currents so you can hear, the plastic rings are non conductors so they seperate the two earbuds to make it a stereo headset, but in this case apple has put a third ring to allow the mic to transfer the current, now the mic only has one ring because most mics are mono that split in to stereo when heard from a stereo device, usually shown like 1/2 mono mic. Hope that explained it well enough.

  • apple box and packaging - $60

    headphones - $20

  • I got headphones and they have a white square attached to the right headphone, but its not a volume control, what is it?

  • @Andy9742 Mic.

  • What a wonderful review !

  • Loudness has nothing to do with sound quality lol

Do you even know what you are talking about?

  • Thanks. Go be a hater somewhere else.

  • @WeicherKeks you're an idiot. I wish more people would make great reviews like this on other products.

  • Im an electronic musician and we work with macs everyday. the number of rings on the end jack corenspond to the features of the headphones. for every function there is an indivigual cord running down the main cord such as the mic left and right ear phone up and down are on the same ring too. the reason why it doesnt work with older electonics is because they were only made for the 3 ring jacks. there for the function is grounded by the jack. doesnt do anything.

  • I apologize in advance for this if it seems like a silly question but would these headphones work with a Sony Walkman product. I have the NWZ-A728 model if that makes a difference. It's about 2 years old. Thanks a lot.

  • @KXYourBotherKX - not a problem so far.

  • nice review. i heard that their earwax magnets. Im still getting them tho, but did u find ur wax stick to them a lot?

  • I will most likely pick these up. The headphones that come with the iPhone really hurt my ears. I'm gonna have to give these a try.

  • looks really nice, great review

  • nice video man

  • hey good review, im a big headphone person and ive always wanted to try these out to see if they're a improvement from the crap apple ones.

and those have 3 rings bc it's two for audio, and an extra for the mic. so that's why it gets quiet when they're all the way in, bc the mic ring is in it.

  • Great review Larry. Nice to know that they do work with the iPhone for the most part.

  • Great review Larry!

  • good reviiew
