I actually think that's what makes today's music less appealing. I love how our parents' generation of music is more poetic and that's what makes it beautiful to listen to. The music today is way too direct, music is an art form so it should be constructed to be so. Although, I am not saying that this song isn't good, I like this song a lot. But the old songs, no one can write beautiful lyrics like that anymore.
