Debt makes the money and money makes the debt. Before the gold seizure in the 30s, it was backed by gold, now it's just legal tender, which means it's nothing of course, its just made up money. So, yes, eventually the ship will sink. However, we are trying to prevent that currently.

That only assumes the more money I have, the more I spend vs raising taxes which is automatically taken from you. The US dollar regains strength by not creating as much. You do things like lay people off and raise costs on things that aren't commodities. You make interest rates higher, you just get the money right back. Hire workers overseas. We've done it many years straight.

If you are going to make a bridge that employs 10k people, it has to be needed. We just had a bridge done here, it was supposed to be express and tolled, but nobody is using it, therefore they are losing money and see that it was a dumb idea. What jobs would you suggest? What type of businesses for what need?

@SupaNami The US dollar fell many times, but it regained it's ground. The EU debt crisis strengthened the dollar, the dollar fell recently but regained it's strength in October. So although the dollar falls, it regains it's strength in most cases. Again, which is why things are still affordable. Yes, more expensive than yesterday, but it's not like we are running around rampant. Once it loses traction, it regains. It's why politicians try hard to keep it buoyant

@SupaNami You have great points I'll say. The dollar is coming down like an airplane slowly but surely. Not rapidly fortunately, but we can never recover from debt because of the system we have. Debt makes the money and money makes the debt. Before the gold seizure in the 30s, it was backed by gold, now it's just legal tender, which means it's nothing of course, its just made up money. So, yes, eventually the ship will sink. However, we are trying to prevent that currently.

@SupaNami Inflation will always happen. There's no two ways about it. Why would you lower taxes? That only assumes the more money I have, the more I spend vs raising taxes which is automatically taken from you. The US dollar regains strength by not creating as much. You do things like lay people off and raise costs on things that aren't commodities. You make interest rates higher, you just get the money right back. Hire workers overseas. We've done it many years straight.

@SupaNami Inflation doesn't affect us because it's slow and it's steady. If it moves faster than our salaries, then that's a different story. Which is not the case. In addition, not everything is affected by inflation, like electronics. It's based on the cost it takes to make the products and the ease of getting etc. E.g., where I live, milk is a few bucks ($3 a gal), in Hawaii since it's imported in $8 a gal. So, the dollar itself was never worth anything. The economy values it.
