  • I've had two of these phones, both of them have broken to a point where I haven't been able to use them.

The first was something to do with the cable between both pieces of the phone.

The second was the speaker used when talking broke.

I really enjoyed the phone, the keyboard was fantastic.

Besides the keyboard breaking I have only one main problem. The phone lagged a lot. A LOT.

^ Just a warning for anyone who wants to know ^

    Tomorrow I am getting a Samsung Galaxy S 2 :)

  • Bought this after smashing the screen on my tytn II. Never thought i'd be this happy with a phone! Thanks for the review.

  • @JeremyBrettFan We are here to help you guys, glad you enjoyed the review :)

  • Get this Tomorrow !! ;D <3

  • @sweetchick12ify How are you getting on with your HTC Desire Z? Hope you had a lovely Christmas :)

  • @E2vids unfortunately i didn't get the HTC ;( My uncle had so i wouldn't suspect he had gotten me a iPhone 4. But I Had a great christmas, Thanks. =)

  • should I buy this one or htc cha cha?

  • @SzabinaTheMileyFan15 Both are really good phones, the HTC Cha Cha would be the best choice if you are always on Facebook! :)

  • This or HTC cha cha???

  • wow

  • whats that track pad thingie like?

  • @MrNibur1996

The track pad is good. It will do what you want it to. The HTC phones are always built of good quality.

  • uhhmm did i miss it or you didn't show the capabilities of its camera ;o

  • @E2vids - you could consider duct-taping the red LED on the video camera - its flashing there like a freakin' laser ;>

  • @IronHalik haha :D

  • TOO MANY PHONES TOO MANY MANY PHONES

WE NEED SOME MORE PHONES IN HERE AHAHAHA

SHOOWW MEEE HOW YOU SUBSCRIIIBE LOOOOOOL

  • @aBlackHippy :D

  • does it have flash player??

  • @jaferhassan Yes the HTC Desire S has flash support :) Adobe Flash Player 10.1 is included.

  • @E2vids this is the desire z??

  • @jaferhassan Apologies - Typo fail! :)

  • @E2vids XD

  • yay BRITS ;)

  • i tried to slide the keyboard shut in the test one in a shop and it snapped off!

    d

  • hache tc ? damn accent

  • @daplaya88 LOLOL, i thought the same thing, What did he say Hey T C? :P

  • @dutchdragon1

    The british gentleman accent :)

  • @E2vids LOLOL, well i think imma get the Hache T C Desire Z, your still happy about it?

  • I have this phone. The best part is the keyboard but it makes it a heavy phone compared to the Desire. The numbers on the keyboard are shared keys so you have to use the function button which is cumbersome. Battery life is a bit ordinary. But in summary, it has all the benefits of a HTC Desire and the Android platform with a keyboard. Best phone I've owned so far.

  • @jdabel1 Thanks for that overview, great for our viewers to hear the opinions of an owner :)

  • Around how much would it cost?

  • Iphone roxx

  • I like the HTC Desire but this looks so much better as I never got on with txting on touch screen. Physical keyboard it has to be. But I always got poor signal on the Three network in the UK on the HTC Desire.

  • I loved the sound effect at the start of the review :)

  • HTC Desire S or HTC Desire Z? :S

  • HD or Z or S ?

  • wich phone shall i take i really don't know:samsung galaxy s, htc desire hd, htc desire z or the nexus ?

    plz help me out

my personal favourite is the htc desire hd.

    greetz G0ofuS

  • @stefangoofus

Very tough choice. Obviously this one has a slide out keyboard if that is what you want.

The Galaxy S 2 is coming out in the next couple of weeks. You may want to hold out for that :)

  • desire z or incredible S ? my priorities

    display

    call quality

    touchscreen responsiveness.

    thanksssssssss!!

  • @cedvaz1984

Very close these two are. The Incredible has all those features. Just depends if you want the slide out keyboard of the Z?

  • @E2vids

many thanks for the reply!. i can live without a slide out keyboard , the only thing that's getting me hooked to the z is the build quality of this beauty! and there's not much of a price gap between the two and another thing on my mind is a known issue doing rounds is the wifi dropping problem being experienced by the incredible s on gingerbread update. ;(

  • @stefangoofus the Desire HD,then Desire Z and then Desire.Samsung phones are copycats and looks cheap.

  • This review is really great thanks! Just wondering how long will the battery life last if i send around 20 texts p/ day and a couple of 2 minute calls, and just some small internet browsing. So basically light use daily will it last the whole day? Thanks

  • @MrScottishnoob

For what you use it for it will last fine for a day. As with most high powered smartphones you will need to charge it up every day or so.

  • @E2vids ok thanks alot i love your reviews and its great you reply to comments!

  • is froyo any good?

im thinking of getting this :$

  • @CromieAndJack You can expect tweaks to speed, web browsing and general performance. And as an OS Android is absolutely awesome to use :)

  • u say ur h funny :P

  • @RandomNumber511 Perhaps its the English accent? :)

  • does 180g feel too weighty?

and this or Samsung Galaxy S?

  • @Josh360slam It doesnt feel too weighty Josh, just solid and robust. Really theres quite a big difference between this and the Galaxy S. The Galaxy S is higher up in specification but doesnt have that fantastic slide out full QWERTY keyboard for fast emails, texts, status updates etc.

  • is it true that the Desire Z is faster than the Desire HD?

Even though Desire HD got a 1Ghz processor? (Desire Z 800MHz)

I heard it was due to the new processor model or something :)

  • @adam1611

They are both really good. You won't notice the difference to much until you max out the memory.

  • @E2vids the Ram?

  • @adam1611

Memory? It's Expandable : MicroSD, up to 32GB

    Internal Memory: 1.5GB

If you click the link in the video it takes you straight to our page on the Desire Z. All the technical info is there.

    :)

  • @E2vids I though you meant the ram memory, when it was heavily loaded with apps :P

I might get this, otherwise the Ipad 2 :D

  • ive just ordered it cant wait :)

  • which one is better desire z or milestone 2?

  • PLEASE AWNSER!! Wich one is better? This one or the nexus S?

  • @king02110

Nexus S is a beauty if you want the top dog features. Check our channel out for the review we did on it. The Desire Z is one of the best qwerty keyboard phones if you really want that.

  • @king02110 have a look at the Atrix 4G, it's the most powerful smartphone ever but it's only going to AT&T :(

  • @king02110

Nexus S got 2.3ginger bread but its Samsung HTC desire z will have the update for that also you can see what you payed for made out of very high quality materials

  • @king02110

Nexus S got 2.3ginger bread but its a Samsung, HTC desire z will have the update for that, also you can see what you payed for made out of very high quality materials

  • YOU FAILED!!! :) thump down

  • At the end when the guy is opening out the key board and say.."the SHE is"...lol..loved it.

  • you were up a bit early..

  • Just wondering, are there any reviews from people who've been using this phone for a while now? It would be interesting to hear a that kind of review.

Everything I find is all ranting how fantastic it is, but i kind of need to know ´real´ findings before i purchase

  • Hey

which is better desire HD or desire Z?

Also battery life for both...which is better?

  • @jaggaaz obviously depends on what you prefer: huge screen, better CPU or QWERTY-keyboard.

  • is it resistive?

  • @nniittrroommee

    Capacitive.

  • Can I use a custom ringtone?

  • @DrWeedeater You certainly can and it's super easy! You just select the MP3 you want to use and then select to use it as ringtone, you can even trim the MP3 down and select a specific section to use as your custom ringtone. Thanks, e2vids.

  • @E2vids Thanks :D

  • I'll buy it when they start to make it in other colours :P

  • how is the weight? by numbers its heavy (180g), but how does it feel in hand?

  • @kolumbs321 we like it Kolumbs, it feels solid and robust. Yes, granted, it feels slightly heavier than some other similar smartphones but not so much that would put you off. Hope that helps.

  • have you problems with the Z-hinge?

you know.. there is an amount of vids here on youtube showing this hinge issue..

when you pitch the phone a bit.. for instance in lying position.. the display claps down.. or generally the display is too flimsy at all and hangs down if you hold the device just on the keyboard.

    can you acknowledge these statements?

  • @oOLegendGuitarOo

thats my issue tooo, but im just gunah risk it cos the phone seems too cool to miss out on :P

  • @oOLegendGuitarOo We did not experience any problems with the Z-Hinge whist we were using the Desire Z. Quite the opposite in fact, I thought the snap out QWERTY keyboard was one of the best i've seen as I mention in the video. I really enjoyed using this smartphone, we will take a look at some of these videos you have mentioned.

  • Does this phone have 3G ? Also , how much memory is in the phone . Are you able to put on music ?

  • @DudeImAlex

It does have 3G. Internal Memory: 1.5GB and expandable up to 32GB. You can put music on this no problem.

  • @E2vids Oh! and is the screen wobbling in closed mode a big deal? and will the keyboard break after a couple of slides? I'm gonna get this beast :D!

  • @WIZARDTOONTOWN

We never got a chance to record with the camera. It's a 5.0 megapixel camera with HD record so it will be of a very good standard.

The keyboard design to open and close is one of the best we've seen. It will last without breaking. As long as you don't throw it off a building!

  • @E2vids thnx and is the camera great for Videos? Thnx u helped me alot :)

  • @E2vids is it durable? and is this great for texting and playing emulators? and how long does battery last? Thnx (:

  • @WIZARDTOONTOWN

Very durable and well built. Battery life is ok, similar to other smartphones, extensive use of multimedia and internet will mean you will have to charge it often. Talk Time is up to 590 mins. Texting is superb on both the touch screen and keyboard. The keyboard is by far a lot easier to use than most other models out there.

    Hope that helps wizard!

  • @E2vids Thanks (: and is the Desire Z durable?

  • @E2vids Should I get an HTC Desire Z or Motorola Milestone 2?

  • @WIZARDTOONTOWN This is obviously based on opinion but on specs, design and features i'd take the HTC Desire Z. That QWERTY jkeyboard is superb, HTC do fantastic things with Android and it looks like Premium handset. HTC Desire Z gets my vote over Milestone 2 Wizard :)

  • can u show us the difrence betwen t-mobile g2 and HTC desire Z !!

  • @25trajcer

We don't have one in at the minute, but we'll try an get one in soon.

  • @E2vids ill wait, nice review though :)

  • @25trajcer

    Thanks!
