  • And I thought the Fora-lee Fora-la song from Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man was weird.

  • They're all girls. Makes that guy Petersen out to be some kind of creepy pedo.

  • AWWWWWW I WISH RIPTILICUS CAME AND ATE EM THEY WERE SO FUKIN ANNOYING

  • im srry but WAT THE FUCK

  • This song really builds up grand expectations that Reptilicus himself just doesn't live up to.

  • Chillicus 0:32

  • Thank you!

  • I really hate that scene! I perfectly understand why they took it out in USA.

  • That's easy for HIM to say.

  • jeg elsker denne song/ i love this song...

  • WTF? Is this movie Rated G, or R i'm confused! Oh wait it's danish! Ah! Confusion solved!

  • If they wanted to kill Reptilicus, all they had to do was let ol' Dirch sing this song to him. It would either had killed him or cure him of constipation.

I mean, this scene would have killed Godzilla!

  • Wait a minute! We're they calling Reptilicus 'Chilipus'?!

  • in the danish version he singed "tillicus"

  • dansk film når det er bedst/værst XD

  • jep der er en grund til at denne film er udnævnt til den værste monsterfilm nogensinde jeg advarer familie og venner om IKKE at se den

  • Damn, they just had to jam Dirch into every movie back then.

It would be really awesome if someone made a sequel or remake of this, get the guys that made "De fortabte sjæles Ø" (Island of lost souls) to do the special effects and throw a few million after it. It would be so awesome! :-D

  • I think they made a remake in the 90's called reptilia. i don't know much about it. i just bought a vhs on ebay of saving silverman and in the previews i saw a trailer that looked like the same story and it was called reptilia

  • More like a Danish Barney! Glad it was taken out.

  • nei reptilikus

  • glimrende.. er vild med dirch passer han passer perfekt ind i denne film

  • Poor old Reptilicus. He gets no respect. A city smashing monster and he receives a comical song sung to children!

  • At least he left his foot in the ocean for future regeneration. When he'll be back in the theater who knows.

  • Seriously! The sequel is right there folks!

  • This movie should be listed in the AFIs top 100 films-just because of it s absurd absurness

  • Okay, heres my attempt at a transscript, I might have to break it into several comments:

Dirch reads the paper: "General Mark Grayson, known for his achievements in the Second World War..."

    Children: "Hello Dirch"

    Dirch: "Hello"

Dirch continues to read: "Has been given command of the national Defense. And, Dirch Mikkelsen has been given command of Tilicus."

    Children: "Tilicus?"

    Dirch: "Tilicus"

    Children: "Who is Tilicus?"

Dirch: "You children really dont know who Tilicus is?"

    Children: "No"

  • Dirch: "whoa..."

    Music begins.

Dirch sings: "Ti-li-cus is an awesome imaginary animal. It will attack even the largest trunk-animals. It is wild. Spits fire. Scares even a smoked fish."

Children: "Come on out, Lille Pus(its a danish slang, means something like "small thing" often used to describe babies or such), whos afraid of Tilicus?"

Dirch: "On its back it has a bunch of large scales. If it shows up, everybody screams goodbye. Sharp nails, a wing-span at least one kilometer wide"

  • Children: "Come on out, lille pus, whos afraid of Tilicus?"

Dirch: "He who sees my Tilicus he gets shocked(afraid). When it walks it dances a slow rock. It is angry, unnormal, snaps people from the fifth floor.

Children: "Come on out, lille pus, whos afraid of Tilicus?"

Dirch: "Ti-li-cus can fly fast like a jetplane. Now look there, it suddenly brakes up hard."

    Children: "Uuuuhhh"

"Dirch: "That was fun, thank God, Now run before it goes frenzy"

  • Children: "Come on out, lille pus, whos afraid of Tilicus?"

Children dancing and singing: "Run around, make a Tilicus figure"

  • Read from bottom and up :)

  • heh disregard that last one, youtube was just a little slow with arranging the comments correct. Its read from top to bottom:)

On the very last one I think it sais "Play with us, run around, make a Tilicus figure".

  • I would love to see a sequel made to this movie! Just think the claw that is blown off from the depth charges grows into a full-size creature that goes on a rampage. Moreover, give the movie a good or high budget, and modern special effects, and this could be a great movie to watch.

  • Okay that settles it... now i have to watch it when dirch is in it

  • If Reptilicus suddenly came out of nowhere and ate that janitor and those kids, I would personally hail this movie as one of the most awesome films ever made.

  • Maybe that's what made Reptilicus go on a rampage...I can imagine him tearing up Copenhagen thinking "I gotta find that stupid janitor and make sure he NEVER sings again"!

You notice that Dirck Passer is no longer in the movie after Reptilicus shows up...he knew better than to hang around with a giant monster ready to get primeval on his ass! :D

  • At this point the movie sort of turns into a comedy musical with Dirck Passer singing to the girls.

Later the movie turns into a travelog when the General tours Copenhagen.

It finally turns into a monster movie when Reptilicus shows up and starts menacing everything in sight! D

  • Never has my Danish ancestry made me more proud.

  • The kids are so annoying!! Why must they all speak at the same time?

  • Because that is how children talk in Denmark... atleast in old crappy movies.

  • only in old crappy movies :D

  • @poisondart Old danish movies are awsome. It´s a shame they don´t make comedy movies like the good old days. There ain´t much to laugh at with danish comedy movies nowadays. And the remakes or maybe reinventions of good old classics like "Far til Fire" for instance are gastly, horrible and should never have been made in the first place.

  • Danish is the shit...! Yeah!!

    Klovn <3

  • fuck you

  • He said Danish is the shit, that is a good thing. It doesnt mean it is shit.

  • You mean the country, the language, the people, or their movies?

Well "Reptilicus" IS the best monster movie ever made in Denmark!

  • "Reptilicus" is the ONLY monster movie ever made in Denmark! :D

  • There was a sci-fi movie from Denmark made about the same time called "Journey To The Seventh Planet", also starring Carl Ottosen.

But yeah, this is the only giant-monster movie to come out of Denmark!

  • WTF?!

He is singing a song about a monster to children. It is a horror/science fiction/monster movie. Not a kiddie picture.

  • You would be surpriced about a lot of things in Danish movies, both new and old.

Some of the danish movies for children would't be allowed in other countrys for children bellow 18. If you have ever watched "min søsters børn" (my sisters kids" from the 60's there is for examble a small girl (about 5years old) who telles her mother that she wanna be a strip dancer, and it is a comedy. There is today also a lot of swearing and politically incorrectness. I love Danish humour!

  • This version is a gas!

  • Aren't those the children from "Village of the Damned?"

  • Comment removed

  • As a Dane I understand the lyrics. And this only makes it more funny. That movies deserves it's place as one of the worst movies ever.

  • Could you do an English translation? Doesn't have to be exact -- the gist will do.

This movie is a classic piece of Danish cheese!

  • here is rough translation of the song:

Tilicus is the greatest fabulous monster, it attacks even the biggest Proboscidea (elephants, rhinos and such, very wild, spits fire skares even a dead fish, (the children asks who reptillicus is again) on it back it has enormous scales, if it comes everyone screams farewell, sharp claws giant wings at a kilometer long those who see him they will be shocked, when it walk then it dances a slow rock (?)mad, wierd eats people on the fifth floor

  • i tryed to reply to a commet this happened i hate this...

  • Thanks very much for the translation. Gee, I can't imagine why the song was cut from the American release -- is isn't any dumber than anything else in this movie!

  • here is rough translation of the song:

Tilicus is the greatest fabulous monster, it attacks even the biggest Proboscidea (elephants, rhinos and such, very wild, spits fire skares even a dead fish, (the children asks who reptillicus is again) on it back it has enormous scales, if it comes everyone screams farewell, sharp claws giant wings at a kilometer long those who see him they will be shocked, when it walk then it dances a slow rock (?)mad, wierd eats people on the fifth floor.

  • Well, i donthtink it is as bad as people make it seem. FOr instance i think ed wood is worth, and i have seen a loat of horror movies that i didt even wanted to watch to the end, at least this still has a intertainment value more than 45years later.

  • Haha, that's just awfull XD

    Dirch rocks

  • Could somebody tell me where I can find the complete Danish version? I've also heard there was another version of it too, done in engrish.

  • I really wan't the flying scenes up on youtube as well!!!

  • It is now online

  • Excellent quality. Is this from the short-lived danish dvd release from about 1999? I've had the complete uncut Danish version of this movie on vhs tape for years but the quality is so awful, it's hard to make out the incredibly funny scenes where Reptilicus *flies!* That's the clip you should post next.

  • I will then :D

  • Looking forward to seeing Reptilicus fly, poisondart! And thanks for this scene, it's priceless!

  • I just did so enjoy!

  • Awesome!
