  • you were lucky there werent any cars! at some spots its barely wide enough for one car

  • This looks like a total death trap. I look forward to it when I'm biking around Dingle this summer.

  • THAT LOOKS FUN! I have hit 52.0 MPH on a bike but that looks fun!!!

  • Great video! You and your buddies have some balls!

  • Loved the video and what joy last Tuesday 13th. Oct. to come from Tralee on a bike and walk and cycle up the Conor Pass. As a 65 year old (next month) it was hard going but the ice cream at the top and the ride down into Dingle made it all worth while. A beautful day.

  • Conor, well, you guys have guts! I don't think I would do it in the weather conditions you guys did. Well, I'll be in Dingle from the 5th through the 10th of October, and if the weather is fine, I will give it a go.

  • Great film. I enjoyed watching it!

  • oh im so sorry for not going faster... thats as fast as my bike would go... the wind didnt help and iif we took the top corners any faster then we would have been gone for sure, theres only so much grip a few millimeters of rubber can give u in the rain. ya i know its the castlegreg side, a friends house is on that hairpin just before it starts climbing... took 26mins as far as i know, with fresh legs...

  • Wow, that looks like fun! We have some steep mountains here in Central Oregon. They may take 2-3 hours to climb on bike, and maybe a 1/2 hour to come down if you're going 45-55 mph. How many miles is Conors Pass and what is the elevation? I would love to ride it when I am there between Oct 5-10,2009. I would not be afraid, except your roads are so narrow. Almost not enough room for biker and car.

  • If I had the entire Connors Mountain to myself with no cars, I would ride it in a heart beat! You have guts riding it in the rain. I'd be afraid of my breaks getting wet and with those cars that close, I'd be afraid of not being able to stop to prevent me from crashing into them. How many miles is the climb? Can I rent a racing bike in Dingle when I am there so I can ride Connors Pass? It's so tempting! I would not have the guts to ride it in pouring rain like the rider in the video!

  • Oh, I forgot to ask, what was the speed of the rider coming down from Connors pass? The fastest I;ve been able to come down a mountain is between 45-50, but after that, I don't have enough gears to make me go faster. Still coming down fast is the reward for the hard climb isn't it!

  • righto lily darcy...

il tell ya what i know. the climb lasts between 9 and 10km depending which side u come from(northern side is a bit longer i think). from dingle the road is better.but otherside has a nice bit of dodgy road for the last kilometer (as in the first km of the video which u might not want to be going down.)its been nearly 3 years now since the vid so they might have resurfaced it since.

  • I was the rider with the camera stuck to the handlebar seeing how close i could get to my friend. we were reaching 73km per hour, dats 46mph i think... wasnt going anyfaster cos twas fekin terrible conditions(road and weather)

  • its from castlecregory side not dingle side. not that fast. i often do it. how long would it take u to cycle up???

  • i did this back in 1999. I pushed my bike all the way to the top but the ride down was well worth it. I stopped and played a bit with the sheep. Ahhh memories. Anyone know if vlad the mad lad is still in dunquin?

  • Fabulous! Not often you watch a video and really feel you're experiencing the moment for real (minus the cold and rain of course). I've driven across the Pass, but this is something else. Thanks for filming and posting it!!

  • Love the connor pass - was pissing wet when we did it, too...not as fast as this!!! Great footage.

  • Very brave Lads, considering the road conditions! Well Done!

  • Thanks...'twas some craic...pissin' rain, gales...and reaching 70km/h on that track hugging the cliff was crazy!...twas a bit of improv with the camrea: taped it to the handle bar with a bit of insulating tape and off we went.

  • I was just wondering where this was? I have done a few fast descents in the Mournes myself.

  • Tis next to Brandon Peak Co. Kerry. Go to killarney and tis at the end of the dingle pennisula. There's all new road surfaces up both side except on the cliffhanger track. I think it's 450m of a climb.
