:) I'm begining to work in C4D too, making an animation, ace-combat type.
I have a question: How much memory and processing does it take to make a 3d animation with that quality? Do i need a super duper computer or can i do it with mine and a lot of patience?
@Tsukinokato Not a super duper computer, but it helps to have processing power & memory. You have many options along the way to speed thing up. Reduce the number of reflections, don't use global Illumination (but you pay a price in quality), objects with low polygon count, don't use area shadows (use soft shadows), etc. assign compositing tags to objects with "not seen by AO, or GI" or "not seen by reflections", and many others.
@Tsukinokato Of course the problem with animation is that you are rendering frames (25 or 30 a sec) so a little increase in rendering times per frame, becomes huge in the long run. And, yes, patience is essential. By the way, don't render movies but single frames, you can combine them afterwards. So if anything goes wrong, you can still use what has been rendered (if you crash while rendering a movie, the all thing is lost).
great work, I prefer c4d myself! do you have a version of this clip with a higher resolution? it looks so bad with 320x240 and you put so much effort into this. keep it up!!
Thanks. I use maxon Cinema 4d. I've been using it for many years. In fact I have one of my images on maxon website and one in their gallery. I work alone. I use C4d professionally (I'm a designer) but these video are a personal experiment. I've also used After Effects to edit it and add sounds effects.
That was really good! Did you create that yourself? I'm writing a story that takes place in the Arctic and this popped up. If you made this, very good work!
Thanks for visiting and commenting. I made it my self. I love experimenting with 3D. Most of my work is 2d, but whenever I find the time I do short animations.
OH MAN! i have just one word for you!
RESPECT!

Great work. What programs did you use, and did you work alone or in a team.
