I truly believe they're the first ice dance couple since Torvill & Dean to have fans who are not normally into figure skating.

In the words of Robin Cousins (1980 British Olympic Men's Figure Skating Gold medallist): "Dare I say, the Canadians have found their own Bolero".

This is quality, technique, poise, connection and artistry.

I noticed the end of the Olympic FD the camera picked up Scott saying something to Tessa: my lip-reading skills: "thank you so much". WOW

It took me a while to find this video that I could post a comment!. I just Have to say this young man and woman Scott & Tessa are BREATHTAKINGLY PHENOMENAL!!. They skated in sync the whole time and their emotional connection with eachoter was as I said BREATHTAKINGLY PHENOMENAL. As a compliment I have to say they reminded me of the former Russian skating couple Ekaterina Gordeeva and Sergei Grinkov.

I really enjoyed this performance. We all talk about the other three lifts but the last one that goes from spin to lift and then back to spin is just amazing and subtle, like the couple.

@jamarsano once again, I agree with you. Tessa is SO graceful, it's almost swan-like.

I've rewatched this for that dismount from the lift, and, I have to say, I think I might prefer this dismount. The way Scott "catches" Tessa & the gentle way he 'sets' her down is much more intimate that the v independent (but of course beautiful) previous dismount.

If these two are in the zone at the Olympics they will be next to impossible to beat.

Then again,  Scott spends alot of this FD and the Umbrellas of Cherbourg FD with Tessa's outfits in his eyes. He can't see where he's going when he's holding her on a rotational lift! They're the only couple who ever seem to do that, Not even Torvill & Dean had that!

They really are astounding aren't they.

I've noticed that as time goes on Tessa stands straighter and straighter on Scott's back. If you watch video of a year ago, she was less secure in her balance. They really look like a "goose" in flight when they do the lift now.

Just to throw my two cents in - I like PJ Kwong. I think she is a good commentator. Her voice is unobtrusive, and she always has relevant things to say. I prefer commentators I can easily tune out.
