  • This is easily my favorite version of Whitewash. I wish I could get it on MP3.

  • @bghammerite Download MP3 Rocket : )

  • @Thecumbrianhobo Carvin is saying that he doesn't like certain scales and melodic patterns, which is his choice - perhaps he likes only certain kinds of music - and perhaps you do too - why are guitar players such douchebags "ohh this is the way things are, no question about it" IMO andy timmons > govan with great feeling (but feelings are GAY)

  • @Staplesz well said

  • @carvinV3 LOL toolbag

  • @CARVINv3 I'd like to see you talk shit on lane

  • buckethead is god

  • This is Buckethead. An unbelievable emotional, melodic, and beautiful composition with a hint of shred to let you know he's beast and yes, still better than you.

And you, and you, and you...^infinity.

  • I cannot believe anyone could compare "/" to Buckethead. I miss the early 90's in the Bay Area. Deli-Creeps, Mr. Bungle, Primus...

  • lol the live version of whitewash with 4 million views is far more creative imo

  • @nickp440 TRUTH, I think that should've been the actual recorded version.

  • made my eyes water involuntarily.

  • YES.. FINALLY.. 60.000 views.. I was watching this video when it had a couple of hundred views, this is fucking awesome.. this deserves recognition.. this version is just as godlike as the 4.000.000 viewed one, the quality's just a bit worse :( I think this one's better to be honest :I sue me

  • @FatToti thanks brotha :D I agree with all of you, this is one of, if not THE best version I've ever heard, that's why I put it up for you guys to enjoy!!

  • @FatToti Agreed. I prefer this version.

  • @FatToti Agreed. This one shits all over the over version. However, it is not a competition. Buckethead is a guitar God. Anything he does is amazing. Do not question it.

  • @GFitzpatrick I would never question that. I just wish this was in better quality because this is probably the best guitar improvisation I have ever heard and I have watched thousands of buckethead vids here on the tube. It's so mysterious, so unusual, so complex yet so simple. True talent, and with that octave-up pedal (I'm not a guitarist sorry). Big B kills it every time.

  • @FatToti Cannot agree more. Go in peace, my child. Spread the word of Buckethead.

  • that baseline makes it

  • does he even use a pic?

  • buckethead is by far the most enjoyable guitar player there is!

  • hahaha i heard someone say "yea!!" te hehe

  • no, like seriously, i'm double posting in amazement, have you ever seen The Green Mile? i feel like i'm tom hanks and he's michael clarke duncan (the black guy) showing me the pain of the world.. that's kinda exactly how i feel

  • 0:57 did someone yell "he's huuuuge!!!" lol

anyways, this is the best performance of buckethead ever.. it's factual.

the solo is so emotional and full of soul, the shredding solo is also amazing plus his use of his pedal combined with robotic movements is just.. i dno, i'm speechless... it's funny, yet the solo sounds so touching you're amazed at the same time.. he's just fucking godlike, that's all i can say

  • Hell yea FatToti..... LMFAO @ He's Huge hahah Buccket is the Grreatestt ahh

  • hahaha, I heard "Achooooo" ^^

  • for some reason i wanna do the robot........

  • you wanna fuck buckethead?

    ow

    that's mean.

    hhaha

  • @dreadbet Why in fact, that would be a dream come true

  • This wasn´t his best version.... and this song is wonderful...

  • god damm i have to play the 5:17 part with my thumb..i dont have long ass alien hands like God..i mean Buckethead does..

  • long ass alien hands

    ahahaha

  • this was the first bucket song ive heard

    its my favourite 2

  • Whats FIRST?

  • Comment removed

  • 3:26 - Whammy ?

  • sounds like a digitech whammy or something very similar

  • Pure awesomeness.

  • Werd its like Buckethead is perfection. No matter wat he plays or how fast or slow it comes out to be epic. I aqree with tht 1000%

  • listening 2 buckethead when ur lik really fucked up is lik the best feeling ever

  • YA IT IS LOL

  • who's Slash?

  • The former guitarist for GNR who inspired countless guitarists and did not wear a bucket of chicken on his head in a lame attempt to be "different" with a lame gimmick@terryfink

  • @CarvinV3 Inspiring means nothing when it comes to your Talent, Slash probably inspired more people than Jimmy Page or Van Halen but he still isn't as good as either.

Slash has one thing - A LOOK.

    Buckethead - TALENT

Thats the difference. Buckethead could play slash's stuff one handed, slash couldn't attempt Bucketheads more technical stuff.

  • @DeltaJade don't forget dude, slash has played almost 2 different genres but buckethead has expanded into so many different things, I'm still trying to collect all of his material from deli creeps and corn bugs to praxis and some of his stuff where he lent his awesome abilities. he's in a load of albums that are almost more numerous than slashes solos put together.

war between slash and buckethead is like a war between Halen and Shawn Lane. Fans of music think they know but Guitarists know.

  • @DeltaJade agreed.......... There's no way in hell slash can get better than Buckethead..... I love this guy.... He's freaking awesome................ \m/

I wish i could see Jimmy page and Buckethead play a duet.

  • @DeltaJade Slash has plenty of talent. People weren't just influenced by his cool style, but also his playing, his sense of song writing. It seems buckethead is the one trying too hard in the look department(the mask, weird outfit, bucket of chicken). Any monkey could learn to play repetitious, mundane licks like bucket, in due time. Slash chooses not to bore himself or his fans with that junk though. If you are new to grown-up music, then i understand why you are having trouble grasping this.

  • @CarvinV3 lol Slash, How is he 'Grown UP' Music? Did he write a few good licks? sure... Is he able to compete remotely close to bucketheads level on guitar? Not at all.

Also you said anyone can play like buckethead iin due time?? Laughable.

If you like sloppy guitar then slash is your man, if you like perfect guitar the names deltajade mentioned all have far more talent as do Marty Friedman, Gilbert, etc.

Slash has millions of record sales but then again so does Bieber.

  • There are children playing "licks" like buckethead. All it takes is repitition.

There is no such thing as "perfect guitar sound" (<~~insert LUL) sound is too subjective. However, if it's sterile typewriting like sound that you like, there's buckethead. Why bother with a little thing like creativity, when a performing monkey trying to hit every note accurately will do just fine for most kids. Bieber? Just goes to show, buckethead can't even live up to that lil turd. haha @TheCumbrianHobo

  • @CarvinV3 I'm sorry mate but it takes more than learning 1/2 the solo to Nottingham lace etc to make you Buckethead, hell you have to be able to WRITE the licks not just play them.

I looked around and there aren't many good covers of his work so you actually are wrong.Slash on the other hand I can even play like, just get pissed try to bend my strings of the guitar and pull a face. (EMOTION)

Its quite funny because u also say sound is subjective but you do not realise bucket is more versatile.

  • As i stated earlier, Bucket really hasn't written anything worthwhile. Many studio/session players are also versatile, and the same can be said for them. But its a good thing boring guitar finger exercises come in different styles, it makes Bucket a versatile drone.@TheCumbrianHobo

  • @CarvinV3 do many studio/session musicians have credited movie soundtrack music or over 30 albums?

    A constant touring gig?

Most Buckethead fans wish he never joined Guns and roses as he sold out but in fairness it helped self finance many of his solo projects and was a great advertisement.

Your Insane if you think Slash knows more about songwriting than Buckethead.

Vai hasn't really wrote anything worthwhile in my eyes but he blows slash away with his ability.

  • The songs bucket has written aren't even worth noting. The only reason people have heard any of his noise is due to youtube. I have heard amateurs construct better songs than bucket, and they didn't sound repetitive and dull. Vai at least sounds different and refreshing, not like that robotic like buckethead. @TheCumbrianHobo

  • @CarvinV3 really? because I'd heard of him in 93 long before I'd heard of the internet let alone youtube,

As for songs by Buckethead you obviously have only listened to a small fraction of his work (probably the Giant Robot tour=lots of shredding) thats not your fault but he has appeared on over 100 albums and thats not an exaggeration. Many Soundtracks and scores on movies too . Slash could not do that either.

Listen to big sur moon, soothsayer, nottingham lace, hog bitch stomp. all different

  • @TheCumbrianHobo I've heard enough of Bucket's music, in the attempt figure out why someone would like boring, drone music. Don't get me wrong, I probably would have enjoyed his music too, if I had a beginner ear. This guy just try's too hard at borrowing sounds from Paul Gilbert, and doesn't really add anything worthwhile. Bucket's music is decent at best, I have heard worse songs.

  • @CarvinV3 He does one or two licks similar to Gilbert< who does 3 or 4 Shawn Lane Licks < jimi

My point is there is no originality. To say I have a beginners ear is silly you have no Idea how experienced my ears are. Should we have a convo on the Aeolian scale? because my beginner music brain studied that along with pretty much every other minor and major scale.

If Buckethead is that bad I want to see you play. Or have a rock off with the guy, Mr Boring drone Music would woop your fucking ass

  • @TheCumbrianHobo Weather or not you studied "pretty much every" scale, doesn't mean you have a solid ear, or that you even have a decent taste in music. Its obvious you are just trolling now. So I'm done feeding the troll. Oh yeah, and "Mr Boring drone Music" can be king of all the boring drone music for all i care. Move on to Govan and leave buckets tasteless music behind... peace.

  • @CarvinV3 its 'whether'.. So my knowledge in music actually hinders my ear? what a stupid point.. It actually means I can relate to high level guitar playing. much more than Slash for instance who I could cover after listening to him play once. Govan is a mimic, seperate entity.

Whether you like it or not Buckthead is successful. An to a lot of people 1 of the best ever.

Shawn Lane who was insane himself also thought Buckethead was a player like he'd never seen.

look up shawn lane on buckethead

  • @DeltaJade Inspiration to others and talent do go hand in hand, when talking about music. When comparing Jimmy Page, Eddie, and Slash, you have to understand that these great guitarists are all great at what they do. Jimmy is best at what he does, and same goes for Eddie, etc.. These three are just so different and unique it would be a failed attempt to even try and place them in the same category for comparison. So to say one is better than the other is just ignorant on your part. Sorry..

  • Sounds like a few phases of simple chording drowned with fx, and lots of shrill, mundane finger exercises. zzzZZZZZzzzzzzZZZzzzzz ... LOL @ the pansies who actually cried to this..

  • @terryfink is a guitarist who thinks he is the best

  • @robmaulfernand awww did I upset you... I was answering someone who mentioned Slash on a buckethead video like thats Bucketheads legacy.. Which it isn't.. Much like anyone who brings up Buckethead on a slash video.. for trolling purposes only.

  • oh damn, this was amazing.

  • Practise makes perfect

but this is waaaaay beyond perfect

    Buckethead is awesome

  • that was soo long ago

  • why does slash always get brought up in buckethead videos. There is no comparison Death Cube K is a god

  • Man, Whitewash is my favorite song of his. Perfect for walkin' downtown in autumn.

  • do you know how to get the one with the solo in? i only got the normal one on my ipod and i would realy love to listen to the solo :(

  • I've only got my copy from Colma, essentially as good as this one here. guitar sounds a bit different though. lemme know if you want a copy

  • if its the one with the solo in please send me a message over youtube with your email and thx mate :)

  • he dosn't have autism listen to him its all for the act. If he had autism he would know how to pick a string

  • Actually most autistic people lack in certain abilities but soar above others in different abilities.

Not saying Bucket has Autism. I think he just really loves playing his guitar.

  • no other musician gets to me like buckethead does..

  • well slash didnt write the Guns N Roses songs anyway. it was either axl and izzy or a collaborative band effort usually.

Buckethead's playing on the album is spectacular. check him out on riad and the beduoins, better, there was a time, sorry, if the world etc.

  • ehhrr, thats actually wrong, slash and izzy buils up the basic for most of the song, axl did the texts

for example mr.brownstone was written completly by slash and izzy, even the text, axl just change a few words, and that was it

but i deffinetly agree with you with buckethead´s playing on chinese democracy, actually riad and better are 2 of my favourites

  • actually, it wasnt quite that simple. izzy was the major song-writer for Appetite, GNR Lies and UYI. he and slash co-wrote only 3 out of 30 songs for Illusions.

axl didnt just write lyrics, he also helped with arrangement of songs.

for Appetite, many songs were written collaboratively. slash had the intro riff to Welcome to the Jungle but duff wrote the breakdown, izzy contributed too plus axl wrote the lyrics.

Buckethead really blew me away on his playing on Chinese Democracy.

  • Too right mate. It's also interesting that Izzy's rhythm work is a lot more prominent in the mix than Slash's. As much as I like Slash, without someone making him push his limits, he can be a fairly dull player. Bucket's work on Chinese Democracy was superb!

  • @sdmf1982 Chinese democracy was with bumblefoot ;D

  • You're semi-right. Both Bumblefoot AND Buckethead played on Chinese Democracy. Check the liner notes :)

  • @sdmf1982 Absolutely phenomenal work on Chinese Democracy... but like someone said, Bumblefoot did some of it for sure. If you listen hard enough you can tell who did which parts

  • finally a chance to play Buckethead's mindblowing solos on Rock Band!

now that Chinese Democracy is on Rock Band, weve got 12 songs to have a blast with.

    how awesome is that!

  • playing the real thing is more awesome then that...and i also think guns n roses suks without slash..but thats my opinion

  • I've read a lot of posts saying that he has Autism, but I've never seen it in any of the news or magazine articles that I've read about him.

I wonder if he really has Autism? Whether he does or not, I have nothing but total respect for him - Rock ON BUCKETHEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would like to know if I can find the same video, or played with a higher quality ... thanks...mythical buchethead

  • lol

  • 24 frets y r we not giving the credit to a gifted guy anyway ? He could still do something with a plank of wood and a rubber band.

  • This is a 24 fret Les paul and not oversized one bit, custom built by Gibson for him. don't be a lazychump and not count :)

  • its not 22 its 24 im sure

  • wow i just noticed hiw guitar has like 25 frets:P haha thats alot for a lespaul!

  • the most impressive is that he has his model for the beginning of his song but after it's a total improvisation...

    BUCKETHEAD IS THE BEST

  • if jimy hendrix were alive, he were proud of buckethead.

  • @Sniper335 he would have already die from being jealous... ;)

  • @Timmonsec

    xD yeah, maybe ^^

  • Pinchface the drummer totally finds the groove then Bucky jumps all over it, excellent drumming!

  • how do i get this version on mp3? i would love to have it on my ipod...does anyone know?

  • I have been trying to figure that out as well, if you have any ideas please share, I have many cds of his but the best stuff is all here....

  • Use freestudio

  • the album is called Colma

  • You can buy (or download?) the album, but I have another tip: there is this program called ''Free youtube to mp3 converter'', and you can use it to convert youtube movies, like this one, to mp3 files, and its free.

    Just search with google.

I already used it to get some cool audio from youtube on my Ipod :-)

  • what i would give to improvise like him...

  • i like this whitewash performance better then the one BroncoABQ has up

  • I love this instrumental.I feel very lucky that I actually found a Buckethead cd in Cyprus i love his my favorite.I love the whole album!!!

  • 2:48 is when it gets heavy. I love Buckethead. No one sets it up like him.

  • Beatifull...

I just love Buckethead. He inspires me...

    Buckethead is amazing!

  • If I were a chicken, I would like to be ate by an artist with the talent of Buckethead

  • the creeps were so good. bob did an amazing job at singing. although i am glad buck split away cause he prob wouldnt have done some of the things hes done today

  • duuude listen at about 2:20 to 2:25 i think he hits the wrong note wow ive never seen him mess up

  • i have a very good ear-tat note was definitely out of key, and he hung onto it a smidge of a bit, i think he messed up-he's great though! One of my fav's!!

  • You don't need any music theory to tell that note is out of key.

I've seen him mess up a few times, but who cares. He does have a mask on and he isn't looking at the fretboard.

  • Lighten up, I'm just making talk on youtube. I never said you need music theory to tell its and its out of key. You are right he messed up and who cares. I am aware he has a mask on, and yes he looks at his fretboard, but sometimes he doesn't. Who cares if he looks at his fretboard at all. Buckethead is great! Just making a comment, lighten up.

  • its called feedback from the wah

notice the volume of said note

    morons

  • if u look at his fingers u can tell he messed up. the note was out of key

  • he is just reunited with them but he was actually Maximum Bob

  • the drummer is like he's dad?? i love bucket head!!!!!!!!! eat lots of chicken then Die!!! i think whats on hes bucket is telling somting really deep... its really intresting...

  • your stupid

  • he my be stupid, but you can't fucking spell.. haha

  • wow neither can you lol

  • this song is so good. one of buckethead's best works on guitar. I hate how many people consider him to be a tasteless shredder with no soul to his playing. This song totally cancels that out.

    awesome

  • i think he fiddles with his equipment in the middle of playing a song to add suspense lol i always gasp and go aw shit i hope he doesnt miss the note he wants to play.

  • no ones gona notice.. he used to play out notes.. i min do u get get my point.. some other buckets songs are like, where did that came from.. but i really love this guy. im learning this song ryt now <pis...<

  • buckethead probly dosent even notice that he has the mask on becouse he is so use to it

  • It is unknown whether he likes it or not. It's more difficult to play w/ a mask than w/out it!

Nonetheless he's one of my favorite players, even though i don't have a fave, for i don't believe in the best guitar player b/c everyone's different!

My Top 5 would be: John Petrucci, Buckethead, Michael Angelo, Malmsteen, and Vai or Satriani...

  • It must be tiresome and annoying to play in mask the whole concert! He probably throws it off w/ a great relief after the show!

[Know Jesus Know Life, No Jesus Know Hell!]

  • how bout no, he doesnt

he loves his mask, he would never take it off with annoyance or disgust

  • I hate metal, but i like this song. bucketHead is a really creative guitar player compared to others.

  • hes so durrrty@!

  • That Les Paul he's playing needs to be the Buckethead signature Les Paul. That would be sick!

  • The Buckethead Signature Les Paul would probably cost 3x what it cost him to make it... but I agree, it would be a step in the right direction for Gibson.

  • true bucketheads les paul is bigger then the other les pauls because he has big hands and he is really tall. and this is the only guitar that can not be remade. they refuse too make the same guitar. cuz its not normal all white with a kill switch.

  • id totally buy one. even though itd b ginormous on me

  • I've been greatly considering getting one custom ordered to his specs, with my own little personal tweaks. I love his tone, and the all white appearance is absolutely gorgeous

  • Why did this video stop working?

  • june 7 th is my bday

  • This is a prime example of how using effects can be done to create beautiful music and not just a strange sound.

  • no it's not, a million songs have done this successfully.

  • Besides all it is is delay, if you know anything about guitars................

  • So are you saying this is average? Go hate somewhere else...

I know more than you'll ever know about guitars. This is greatness.

  • well he's also using a whammy pedal which is hard to use tastefully most of the time.

  • its good song but bad quality. just type "buckethead" into search bar (youtube) and a couple of vids down the list theres a way better version than this. Peace out!!

  • anybody knows what effect he's using? i think he's using some kind of phaser, or maybe an auto wah, but I've no idea what settings.. anybody can help with that? buckethead ROCKS!!

  • If you are referring to the octave pitch changes I'm pretty sure it is a Digitech Whammy pedal...I've seen it mentioned a lot around here.

  • Delay with some wah.

  • that was dope when he did the robot

  • whos maximun bob and i didnt hear any vocals in that?

  • buckethead is playing with his band, which i think was his frist band. i know pinchface is still with bucket but i don't know if he is still with the bass. maximum bob is the singer of deli creeps. he was just shown in the description.

  • THAT IS what we can call a stratospheric song my dears !

Pfiiuuuu, i continue in french...

    Quel talent.

  • mon gars, je pense pareille comme toi! c'est la première chanson de buckethead que j'ai écouté et c'était la première fois que la musique ma fait ressentir quelque chose de profond.. buckethead est LE meilleur!!

  • Buckethead is a fucking master hes damn good everytime i watch the solo it gives me goosebumps i love it so much. Pinchface is a fucking kick ass drummer proabably one of the best.

  • buckethead can kill a man with his guitar... without even touching him...

  • He speaks through his guitars. His weapon of choice!

  • Like any man of truly divine power, Buckethead would only convert evil to light. He would never kill a man; furthermore, his guitar would not be a weapon but a tool to force anyone standing in opposition to evolve and befriend him. BH is about love... visit Bucketheadland.

  • This was a reply to Bignatelhs and RockAddict311. Youtube bumped it instead of just putting it below for some reason.

  • yeah.. thats how youtube works..

  • You obviously haven't seen the Young Buckethead DVD's. . . He claims to kill and eat people, and his softer songs like this are his tributes to the dead haha. I know it's a joke, and I agree with you completely.

  • buckethead ftw

  • awesome stuff

  • Hes one of my top 10 guitarists, call me crazy but thats what I think. One thing I know is that I know of a lot of guitarists and can make a fair judgement to put him in there.

    Anyone agree?

  • why would i call you crazy? not only is he in the top 10 for me, but he is NUMBER 1

  • I just know hes badass. I never really rate guitarists from bands I listen to based on skill, but more their creativity, and this guy has a ton of it.

  • he's not only my favorite guitarist, he's my favorite musician

  • I always wanted to know what to call his drummer. pinchface, thats cool. thanks man.

  • He also plays with another drummer named Bryan Mantia sometimes.

  • the guy from praxis is also very good

  • this would have to be the best live whitewash i've seen. \m/ also.. is that the same drummer that he has now?

  • yes, it's pinchface

  • i must say, he can cover alot of genres

but i wouldnt go ahead saying hes one of my top 10 favourite guitarists

  • Whos in your top 10? Slash along with Herman Li.

  • lol... buckethead is in my top 10, prob #1, then Michael Ammot, Alexi Laiho and such

  • omfg come on, Syn is good, but this is a whole different league of guitarist. Buckethead is considered one of the top 10 guitarists of all time by many people.

  • buckethead is insanely good i agree with you now.. syn is 2nd then :D
