I'd be sick if that was mine or my fault/not my plane. Tisk, tisk, tisk, not tied down AND insult to injury, no gust locks, see that full up elevator too... Kitplane, cheap plane, any plane... what a shame. I'll be exalted just to get a 152/172 to licence in one of these days, thats expensive enough, couple minutes and some rope goes a long way...
@nick2191993 sure... airplanes fly when the wind passes fast enough over (and under) the wings, creating lift. If that wind comes from the aircraft being driven by engines or a storm, does not matter. NOT fake.
Look at the elevator...Full up. If they had pushed the stick forward and secured it that way it wouldn't get up to the critical angle of attack to lift off... not to mention, three little pieces of rope would have been nice for tiedowns!
Notice that elevator is at maximum up position. All the time. If someone were inside, would try to controll it.. FAKE or something :)

And that is why you use tie downs....just sayin...

Good thing no one was in the plane! What was the wind speed?
flugverrueckt 2 weeks ago
@flugverrueckt a 45 mph gust would be more than enough to pick it up in ground effect.

Can I assume this was all staged? It looks like another aircraft parked in front of it.
mstngjay 1 month ago
This "takeoff" really speaks to the stability of that aircraft. It bobs one way and the other but naturally returns to level - without a pilot.
croweviolinist 1 month ago
Now they can't say that the crash was due to pilot error, because there was none to start with.
