A better idea: Go to system preferences and then go to desktop/screensaver and then click on hot corners, make one of the corners as "disable screensaver" and then when watching videos, move your mouse to that corner and your screen should be safe. you will get use to moving your mouse after time. No application needed

There's an option for this on VLC so you don't have to download something else. And VLC works everywhere :)
