Sure reminds me of Mad World by Gary Jules, and the chord scheme is somewhat similar to Sonnet by The Verve. However, still a great song by the best female singer of Canada (IMHO).

I for one will say that i am dissapointed with this single. I never liked this sort ofmusic but I have always admired Sarah Mclachlan. The intro is a shamesless rip off of madworld but the rest of the song seems just okay and we've heard it all before. I hope her new album is better and that she tries to re-invent herself without taking parts of other songs.

The opening does sound too similar to Gary Jules version of Mad World, rest of the song doesn't. She shoulda edited the opening doesn't need it anyway. Sarah, to the best of my knowledge, always writes her songs about things she knows from personal experience and when she tells a story about someone she's heard about rather than her own life she usually says so (e.g. 'Angel', 'Hold On', 'Sweet Surrender' etc.)

- it seemed really odd to me that she wrote a song about someone having an affair and then claimed that the song just came to her and was nothing to do with her life at all. I could be very wrong but that's just my thoughts on it.
