3D TV? Jesus christ, I can't even get more than 20 channels in HDTV!!! On top of that, the few "HD" channels I am getting aren't fully HD! First of all, programming is reduced to what networks DO have in 3D, which is about one out of 10 programs, and then they're played ad nauseum. Discovery HD, doesn't even have DISCOVERY shows! All it is is Anthony Bourdain and stuff like Sportscience. HD isn't even here and they've had almost a decade. 3D is nowhere near here. Get real people.

I just read that IF and WHEN the technology becomes more viable [because you will literally need all-new equipment which will range in the thousands of dollars and I'm not really too sure people will be as enthusiastic about it due to the current costs of HD/Blu-Ray equipment to just upgrade yet again] that the heads of Sony and Xbox...

It will likely be about 20 years before 3D displays are common place, and even then it will be a novelty, until a revolutionary game like DOOM captures the cultural imagination and spawns a whole mess of 3D media. I'm perfectly fine with wearing those glasses, HOWEVER...

Try the Headplay unit. It's 400 dollars which is cheaper than ANY 3D t.v. is likely to be. Plus it has 2 individual screens, that can be adjusted in focus for glasses users, and it's 3D ready they say. Won't work if you want to watch 3D with other people, but it's fine private viewing gaming or web surfing.

Google it. Awesome unit good reviews. At least check it out. I've been wanting one since I saw it and thought .Hack series.

I saw avatar in 3D and while it was an average storyline the visual effects were stunning. 3D is definitly the way forward it really does work in bringing the viewer into the film. Also from an industry standpoint its a good thing cos it will revive the cinema industry.

Colour, and Black&white, well to be honest, there is no necesity for colour. i like b&w films, and i like colour films but in adding colour, i dont have to pay extra for seeing a film in colour, or go into a special cinema with 2 projectors.

and 3D is not the way forwards, do you know why, Spielberg still cuts his films by hand, with reletively no computer input, Scorcesse will not film on it, Sam Mendes wont, Coppola wont.

I have a Sharp Aquos 42" 1080p which cost me $3000 bucks two years ago..Today, I can pick the same thing with better technology for 1000 bucks!!!
