Funny how everybody has something negative to say about president Obama's community service efforts when president Bush F*d up the economy so bad that he would rather read to some kids than to help millions dying from hurricane Katrina or those who were killed from 9/11. Bush left on the most disrespectable note to the point where the world hates him and the WORLD HATES THE U.S.! With President Obama, we at least have a chance. Great that Obama can read a 2nd grade book with his Harvard law degree given how gloomy & dreadful the economy. How about Obama steps it up a notch and actually reads the 800+ pages of the STIMULASS PACKAGE he desperately wants passed with claims that it will relieve us all from economic burden. How exactly will each dollar spent from all $850 billion (currently proposed in gov. spending) will bring America back in the long term. Perhaps the 2nd graders know better than the President.

I'm guessing he's trying to "stimulate" the economy by increasing our goods and services produced. He's trying to increase production and jobs by putting money into places like our infrastructure. Losing jobs means that we are losing services and that equals dollars lost. What would u propose?

USA survived worse economic troubles. I propose Obama gets IRS head Geitner & tax code writer Rangel + most Gov't members to PAY THEIR TAXES. No more corp bailouts a la Fannie & Fred. Obama's 1st entry level job is the Presidency -NOT BIZ MGT which he has none. Let failed biz go bankrupt & restructure. Let successful /new biz EMPLOY WORKERS. Stimulate economy w/ tax incentives to GROW goods & services. Public Works are temp jobs -worked in great depression as infrastructure was hardly existent.

Explain Clinton's signature on Fannie/Fred BANKING arrangement at his2nd term end. No complaints when bubble grew, when economy recovered post 9/11 --only when it bursted in an election yr all under Bush. Same dem majority congress under Bush's 2nd term ignored economists' warnings & now drafted the stimulass pckg for Obama. Read the stimulass + Geitner's economic plan. Didn't work then under Bush & it still won't work under Obama. ITS ANOTHER Fannie/Fredie to make us all dependent on gov!

Lets hope he doesn't cut charter school funding. There are poor black kids that will have to leave Sidwell where his daughters are educated at and go to public school if they lose their funding.

The DC school district is in the top 3 in school funding and dead last in all educational statistics.
