@Gumbie2009 Maybe so... but... I have seen soooooooo many videos where people are ONLY using YT as a site for a "commercial" space. Ed is "sharing" his knowledge with anyone who cares to watch his videos. I would take my business to him before I would take it to someone who only puts forth "commercials." I mute them and skip them on tv as do a lot of people. I don't watch "commercials" on YT either. I appreciate people like Ed:)
Very nice that you take your time to show, your skills to interested people. As a child I would have killed lol to have someone to take the time as you do. Of course when I went to school we still had ink wells w/steel tip pens. I have been a road artist for the past 40 yrs, walking the dog & kick n the cat so to speak, to make the money (YouTube JTSpy1357) shows some of my work. @edhubbs Hello, Nice work. What type of paint do you use or suggest other than glass paints that also has a translucent effect and adheres well to the glass. coz sometimes there is limited stocks of color in glass paints like vitrail and talens here in my place (Manila, Philippines). Thanks
@edhubbs Thanks for the tip, i had googled HOK Kandy, i'll check if they also have Kandy paints here and also i'll try to use urethane or epoxy enamel paints then thin it a bit and then add clear gloss with it.
Great work! That's pretty much how I did it also. I used to cut out feathers from the vinyl one at a time, shade them, and engrave to highlight vein detail. I like your technique too. I did engravings as well, flat panels and on crystalware using a diamond burr. I can relate to the auto glass. I used to do scenes on truck rear windows, and I always prayed that everything came out right, especially when a customer was standing there watching me work.
@edhubbs I sure have. I also have a couple single point diamonds for fine detail, but mostly I used the little diamond ball burrs. A sharpened tiny ruby degussit stone works great too for detail.
@Acecard1984 I air brushed color on a mirror that I did for a customer a long time ago. They had it hanging in there house. It looked good, but if it was on a car window wher it gets touched and washed all of the time I am pretty sure it would come off.
thanks ed. all your tutorials are very ilustrative and interesting i am your fan. i do spray pain art with cans an all what you do is important for my
Another great video. Have another question for you Ed, do you have to paasches media or is there a cheaper alternative? Were I live the time and cost of shipping make using one a go no in less I can find another type of blasting media.
I doubt there's a person on Youtube as attentive at keeping up with your viewers and responding to their posts. I don't know where you find the time in your day Ed...wait, yeah I do, you're waiting on Paint to dry prolly :P
One of these days I need to make a trip up your way to check things out, maybe watch you in action when you don't have a camera over your shoulder. Good vids as always, keep em coming :)
amazing stuff ed, amazing. Maybe i'll start trying glass etching with a air eraser/sand blaster this year. Found one set on our national second hand site (part of ebay group). for just 50 euro's I think, thing looks good to me.
its not an airbrush its an air eraser and there is sand in it. Do not put sand in your airbrush cuz it will ruin it you have to have an air eraser to be able to do glass etching like ed is showing.

I've been watching your videos for the last year or so and I rally enjoy them. Thanks a lot for all this info. Have you ever tried glass etching on car windows?
I am going to also show how to do glass engraving. It will show some cool ways to make gifts. I make a lot of wedding glasses for friends. And I will show how to do it for every one.
