  • @Yoona1991 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It can NOT be sprayed through any air brush other than a air eraser.

  • Awesome Ed! Thank you so much!

You sure have a big heart, to share your talent with us:)

  • @BirdOfParadise777 That is what it is all about "Pay it Forward"

  • @BirdOfParadise777 using the high traffic of you tube to self promote his artistic ability to gain more business has nothing to do with a big heart

  • @Gumbie2009 Maybe so... but... I have seen soooooooo many videos where people are ONLY using YT as a site for a "commercial" space. Ed is "sharing" his knowledge with anyone who cares to watch his videos. I would take my business to him before I would take it to someone who only puts forth "commercials." I mute them and skip them on tv as do a lot of people. I don't watch "commercials" on YT either. I appreciate people like Ed:)

  • You do nice work Ed,You give realy good advise on how to do things the rite way.

  • @pathfindertrail Thanks

  • Dear Ed!

Very nice that you take your time to show, your skills to interested people. As a child I would have killed lol to have someone to take the time as you do. Of course when I went to school we still had ink wells w/steel tip pens. I have been a road artist for the past 40 yrs, walking the dog & kick n the cat so to speak, to make the money (YouTube JTSpy1357) shows some of my work. I wish you well in your journey, and appreciate your giving talent God BLESS YOU & YOURS JT Spy

  • @jtspy1357 Thank you and same to you and your family.

  • @edhubbs Hello, Nice work. What type of paint do you use or suggest other than glass paints that also has a translucent effect and adheres well to the glass. coz sometimes there is limited stocks of color in glass paints like vitrail and talens here in my place (Manila, Philippines). Thanks

  • @evadful Really nothing is going to stick really good to glass, but I have taken HOK Kandy's and sprayed them over the etched parts and had good luck.

  • @edhubbs Thanks for the tip, i had googled HOK Kandy, i'll check if they also have Kandy paints here and also i'll try to use urethane or epoxy enamel paints then thin it a bit and then add clear gloss with it.

  • @evadful Hope it works for ya.

  • wow that turned out really nice i use 2 be able to do stuff like this bt i lost the patince to cut out all the fine lines

  • @estbroadway Thanks

  • does it hert ifyou accidently spray your hand with the sand

  • @paintballbmx19 If you spray right directly onto your skin it could. But to do it the correct way like I showed on the video, then no.

  • @edhubbs k thnks

  • Great work! That's pretty much how I did it also. I used to cut out feathers from the vinyl one at a time, shade them, and engrave to highlight vein detail. I like your technique too. I did engravings as well, flat panels and on crystalware using a diamond burr. I can relate to the auto glass. I used to do scenes on truck rear windows, and I always prayed that everything came out right, especially when a customer was standing there watching me work.

  • @arnold02000 HA HA I hear ya about customers watching you do glass etching.....no way to fix it.

Have you ever tryed a carbide bit for engraving?

  • @edhubbs I sure have. I also have a couple single point diamonds for fine detail, but mostly I used the little diamond ball burrs. A sharpened tiny ruby degussit stone works great too for detail.

  • @arnold02000 Yes they do.

  • (dot)Etching Unlimited(dot)com Local glass etching. Your art or ours!

  • @Socoboitoi Thanks

  • @Socoboitoi Nice site, you guys do some nice work.

  • Where can you purchase an air-eraser?? And the media sand also??

  • @tjtinter They sell it at craft stores and also at kustomshop(dot)com

  • Awsome!!

  • @1339LARS Thanks

  • it would be easier to use a cricut and vinyl instead of cutting it all out by and

  • @impal808 OK

  • thank you

  • The worse student is back with another question!

Can we do this on plexi??

  • @trek9090 Yes Miagie.

  • Would something like this be possible on a composite, for example on epoxy for a fiber layer up and then clear coating over to seal it?

  • @Joe11Blue I am not sure I have only done it on glass and chrome.

  • ive never seen that done before thanks

  • @mickeydamon Your welcome.

  • Whoa young hubbsy u sure seem to kinda know what u is doing.. Whos da Daddy ..

    Brill man..

  • just like to know if u can add colour to a etching? and how

  • @Acecard1984 I air brushed color on a mirror that I did for a customer a long time ago. They had it hanging in there house. It looked good, but if it was on a car window wher it gets touched and washed all of the time I am pretty sure it would come off.

  • Did anyone notice that the actual picture looks like a cat putting a crown on it's head?

  • That's freaking Kool! Thanks for sharing, Ed. I've had an air eraser for some time now I have some inspiration to put it to use.

    You Freakin' Rock Bro!

  • Sorry asked the question before I read the comments......stupid! lol

  • Would One Shot work on glass? I've seen pinstripers go to town on glass with that. Or what about painting over etching? Does the etching hold paint?

  • @marekofsokt

Yes one shot works on glass, but it will also scratch off really easy.

  • @marekofsokt

Yes one shot works on glass, but it will also scratch off really easy.

    Would any sandblaster material works?

    Thanks again!

  • There is nothing else that will work in the air eraser,I have tried to use other stuff and it plugs up the gun.

  • Harbor Freight sells the medium.

    Rdockie

  • Thanks Ed and Rdockie

One of these days I need to make a trip up your way to check things out, maybe watch you in action when you don't have a camera over your shoulder. Good vids as always, keep em coming :)

  • Thank you very much.

  • wow this is totally fascinating..ty for your video..

  • Your welcome.

  • amazing stuff ed, amazing. Maybe i'll start trying glass etching with a air eraser/sand blaster this year. Found one set on our national second hand site (part of ebay group). for just 50 euro's I think, thing looks good to me.

  • Good Luck and have some fun with it.

  • What are you using in the airbrush?

  • its not an airbrush its an air eraser and there is sand in it. Do not put sand in your airbrush cuz it will ruin it you have to have an air eraser to be able to do glass etching like ed is showing.

  • ooooh ok lol

  • thanks.

  • Thanks man.

  • Air eraser compound.
