  • I agrees about using the KFm-4. I use it on my Delta FPV designs. Really locks the plane in....Like riding on rails to coin a phrase. I also like the fact that it virtualy eliminates the need for carbon fiber too.

  • I was thinking more along the lines of increasing the plane's size to 150%. Then fitting the EDF's into the Jet pods. I thinks that 2 Detrum 70mm on 4 cell would suit that design much better. The 2 EDFs combine to prodce 2400gr of thrust on a 4 cell (4000mah). It would make for a short but super sweet flight. LOL

  • very cool love the looks of it

  • really good design....

  • Wow! Now That's a Real Foam Fighter!

    Thanks Guys!

  • @rcFoamFighters what do you think about using a 700 watt system with a 12x7 prop on this? jk lol

  • wooo!!!! foamboard ftw!!!

  • i still think grayson should offer this motor with a package deal that includes plans for the aurora. especially since they have your video to advertise its sweetness. btw, i want to put a microdan on that little mock up glider you made Paul

  • Nice plane Paul

  • Is the foam from Dollar tree foam board or the heavier Elmers board?

  • @johnny0464 This plane is made out of the Dollar Tree one dollar a sheet foamboard. No spars or tape either! I was happy how it performed. One of the reasons i used the KFm2 Airfoil was to make a more rigid wing. Also the simulated motor pods and bottom air scoops help make the tail nice and rigid too. I think the Elmers would make an even stronger plane but would be a bit heavier.

  • I'm so looking forward to the plans. I see myself putting two Detrum 64mm edf's on it. Nice work Paul. You guys rock.

  • @johnny0464 That would be awesome to see! There is a nice wide area between the Vertical Stabs to mount two EDF's!

  • great job looking forword to plans

  • now you need to get a pulse jet on there so its really like the aurora! lol!

  • Now that's what I'm talking about. Good job.

  • Does it really go that fast or is a top secrete. LOL

    Looks good.

  • Yeah,...It's badass.

  • Nice work Paul, love the flat black and the design, bravo on a job well done.

  • Paul, Kudos on another GREAT design. They just get better and better. I really like the slow flight characteristics of this plane due to the KFM-2. I have started using it on most of my builds. I hear that the KFM-4 gives much more stability in windy conditions. Would like to see you test it one of these days since you never seem to be short of windy days. The problem for the rest of us is the several month wait for the "Monster Jet".

  • @T3PRanch Thanks for the thoughts on the KFm4. Dick Kline actually was asking me to test it out on the plane. So probably in a future video i will give it a try and see if there is any difference.

  • Great job Paul looks pretty nice!

  • that is freaking nice!

  • Looks like a good flyer, simple build, and a little speed demon design. Love you showing the glider model for finding the best COG. Lots of builders need to see how it is done.

  • Paul... wonderful job! It looks awesome in the air and flies smooth as silk. I loved those slow passes past the camera. It's hard to believe that it is just a foam built aircraft. Congratulations on another successful build.

  • @TheDickeroo Thaks Dick! Your KF airfoil performed great on this plane! I'll try and add the KFm4 bottom airfoil piece as you suggested and see if it makes it any faster. The leading edge thickness my have an effect too though as it will be thicker. Thanks always for your awesome invention and all your help!

    Paul

  • looks real good paul!..very stable..

    FFFTW bro!

    Jacques

  • are you guys gonna make the plans in A4 size this time? please

  • That's one angry motor.

    ;^)

"Did you get that?" - It almost got him!

  • Nice job! Looks like a mini SR-71.

  • Nice plane. Cant wait for the CAD to come out. Nice flight....

  • That is one hell of a sweet looking plane there man and she flies really well at slow speed and WOT ;-) can't wait to see the next video when we will see her do over 100 MPH not that this one was that far from it any ways ;-)

You must be well pleased/proud when your planes come together so well Paul = thumbs up mate.

  • Thats a very sweet looking flyer paul, look at this shot here 6:52 lol it looks like a real jet taking off and climbing out haha, very smooth too. Good Job

  • Really nice design Paul as always, handles great in the air fast or slow. The KF2 airfoil comes thru again, say hi to Thom and Frank for me..

  • Another quality build!

  • Where did the little GPS unit come from?

  • Turning the captions on gives this video a whole new perspective...lol

  • Whew! i love it, thats great!

  • if you are going for speed why don't you use the kf 4 airfoil

it will stabilize it at high speed and basically lock it in place

  • wow that turned out nice

  • I like it! Can't wait for that Monster motor to come out. What kind of paint did you use?
