@snickerwolfquest Haha, I do this to help her pronounce the words better. She starts saying words muffled and mixed up after a while, so it helps remind her how to actually say it! :)
aww your so lucky to have a nice african grey! my parrot, owen, always tries to bite me when i try and take it out or pet him or hold him. its really sad cuz i want to be able to hold him and let him walk around with me or fly. :)
A friend of mine had the same problem. It ended when he got a job working out of his home. Sometimes, the trick is to spend as much time with them as possible. Which is not easy. Even then, the parrot may not be as gentle as this one. Birds, in my experience, are a highly temperamental species. Hope yours warms up to you!
@kikakleedermbokajaja Aww, it takes lots of time and patience to have your bird like this. I just try to spend as much time as I can with her, and make sure she knows who is in charge. If she doesn't want to come out, I force her to step up anyways. And I NEVER pull away when she "test bites" me. She does whatever I want her to do whether she likes it or not, and I make her schedule, not her. This seems to work for Nala, but it really depends on your bird! Good luck with Owen! :)
@55bina1 She has never really had an interest in flying anywhere, inside or outside. She just enjoys the sun, fresh air, and all of the noises outside. As long as nothing scares her, she won't try to go anywhere. I clip her wings just enough so she can't gain altitude, but she can still glide down so she doesn't fall if she tries flying anywhere.
Isnt it funny how they start to sound like there owners haha
