Meanwhile, CEO of Vedanta refinery in Lanjigarh, stated that all works termed illegal had not been carried out in Forest but pvt land. Yet people with right to the land as per FRA 06 have been intimidated by Police to not protest against construction on their land saying that the land belongs to Govt.
This exposes illegal works of Vedanta in Niyamgiri & how they tried to cover-up during an investigation. Also complicity/negligence of the Forest Department is exposed with Ranger endorsing Ved's works as legal & at same time admitting that he neither accompanied the investigating team comprising of Chief Conservator of Forests nor was he aware of massive excavations and eventual cover-up.
