@negativefps Main reason was probably for nostalgia, and not everyone finds MK3 to be the best. Plus the fatalities in MK3 weren't that good.

started playing it today. OMGOSH THE BEST GAMES EVER! beat mortal kombat 1 in 15 minutes. mk2 in 20 minutes and mk3 in 10 minutes. Gauntlet got to level 17 and paper boy got to level 3

My sister has a PSP.

I ought to talk her into getting this, but I doubt she's as big about classic arcade games as I am.

Games like MK II, MK3, NARC, Total Carnage, Arch Rivals, Pit Fighter and Primal Rage are some games I like on Midway Arcade Treasures 2.

Someone once asked me "Why no MK1 om MAT2?" Probably because when MK Deception was 1st released, there was a Kollectors Edition (XBox)/Premium Pack (PS2) which included a 2nd disc with MK1 on it.

Word reached me and I had to have it.

I got this game for the PSP but its as a major problem. Sometimes when im playing it it seems to get stuck in the down position on the D pad for no reason. For example if im playing any of MK games my character will all of a sudden get stuck in a crouch position and theres nothing you can do about it. I've mentioned this problem before and it seems it as happened to alot of other people too.

Yeah, Toobin's really different. Really cool graphics. I sorta wish they'd make a sandbox game where you're just drifting downstream, getting into trouble, and throwing pop cans at penguins.

Fact: Tengen originally planned to make a NES version of Xybots, But it was cancelled. Only a prototype of it exists, & it was Dumped as a ROM to play on a NES emulator.

The Atari Lynx also had great conversions of Rygar and Ninja Gaiden(based upon the arcade versions)!! My claws are crossed for Midway to oneday potentially avail a 'Midway Arcade Treasures 4', featuring T2:The Arcade Game(Hah! Like Midway really wants to spend more money on a major IP license, after the average sales of Mortal Versus DC), and the unreleased-yet-retrotastic arcade curiousity that is- Primal Rage2!! Yeah.... Just so you know, I ran into the Gameboy Advance version of Double Dragon and I was freakin blown away! They remade everything from the first one, even the intro where the guy punches the girlfriend in the gut. I was so addicted I played for an hour straight when I just wanted to try the first stage for 2 minutes. Easily the best Double Dragon game to date. I wish they would release it for a home console.

There are actually three midway arcade treasures on the PS2/GCN/XBOX. The first and second contain multiple arcade games. The third focuses on a large number of midway 3D and 2D arcade racing games.

There is also an activision anthology on the PS2 which definitely will interest you! :D

Xybots was a really fun game. The Mortal Kombat series was really fun to come back to. The games seem ageless to me. The 3D Mortal Kombat games are alright. They take some time to get use to. Great review Mark! Namco Museum for the PS2 is a good arcade compilation disc to get. You should get it.
