  • lol highly unlikely that this dialog ever occurred between Kenshiro and Raoh.

  • @VraiDiouf it did, it made sense and carried the story up to this point, some critics say hokuto no ken should have ended with ken against raoh, but i don't think so, the shura land story makes sense because in the first episode that raoh is on hokuto no ken he mentions he will return to shura only once two warriors from his bloodline have been beaten, Toki and Kenshiro

  • Hey guys relax it's hnk.

    AATATATTATATATATATTATATATATATTATATA

  • even the gaiden chapters and new OVA which supposed to cover the loophole didnt help much. plus it raised more questions than giving answers. *sigh* if only internet exist in 80's and veteran Hnk fan could ask this and that to buronson and hara-sensei.....

  • they retcon everything ever since the early chapter. during shinn arc, they make ken and shinn share same masters and at some points like a brother, plus its like ryuuken was master of both hokuto and nanto. and when you keep continue reading, nanto and hokuto are actually different. everything turn into mess when raoh show up. kaioh arc make it more confusing. and final arc which features raoh's son add more loophole to the story.

  • ken ancestors had the 7 star mark. And so raohs family both of them had the mark as its shown when ken fights kaioh and finds out that kaioh had the mark on hos head.Raoh and ken are distance cousins and raohs family were the true succesors

  • yes raoh, ken, toky, kaioh and hyo are all from the same blood line of the hokuto family.raohs ansesters were the ones who had the title of succesors but was given to kens ansesters by a sacrifise of raohs ansesters.thats were all the drama begin.raoh and ken are suppose to be distance cousings.raohs family have the 7 stars already mark on their body

  • raoh never sead that speech.raoh was fist of the north star.if raoh woulnt had given half his spirit to julia and had kill julia raohs muso tensei was gonna be way way strongers than kens.

  • wow

  • which episdoe is this from?

  • it's from hokuto no ken 2 episode 39 or 40 (i don't remember exactly witch one...)

  • This actually does sound like something Raoh would say, he did have faith in his brothers. He just knew he was better, derr so people can't say this is bull because its not. Watch the anime, read the manga and figure out the 3 main brothers of Hokuto Shinken were in fact close.

  • Considering when Kenshiro is made succesor Raoh basically says Hokuto Shinken will be doomed as a result he wouldn't have given that speech. Even in the first Ken/Raoh fight Toki says Ken doesn't have a 1% chance of victory until Ken revs up his aura like a madman.

What is next, Raoh told Jagi to take care of Kokuoh-Go in case Souther killed him? Give me a break.

  • Yeah HNK2 was a downer, even has kenshiro being blood related to Raoh and Toki, retconning everything put forward about it in HNK1.

  • Wait whut?

Im still in the first HnK so don't flame me.

How are Toki, Raoh, and Ken related?Besides the adoption and Toki and Raoh being real brothers.

Something I missed when I went to the wikia?

  • HNK2 has a flashback of Raoh and Toki fleeing their home village carrying Ken as a baby. Pretty much retconning everything in HNK1. HNK2 just took too many liberties, it's worth a watch though.

  • No, Kenshiro is not related to Raoh & Toki.

Raoh, Toki, Kaioh and Sakaya are all related, but Kenshiro was an orphan baby entrusted to Raoh & Toki when they left Shura.

  • Good to hear from you brotha! Too bad its been almost thirty-years. We can't go back and change what has happened. Raoh lives on!

  • Hate this flashback. Raoh always looked his nose down on Kenshiro until the latter half of the manga. He wouldn't have made a contrived speech like that when he was made successor.

Just shows how Buronson & Hara were shoehorning elements into the sequel.

  • Considering he killed his teacher as a result because he wasn't about to give up HNK I agree.

  • nope wrong, kenshiro is from the hokuto family and that was the reason ryuken preordained he would be the sucessor, he has the mark of hokuto on his head and then again on his chest after the shin incident.

  • I disregard everything that occurs after manga 16/after Raoh dies. They added crap just to extend the series by changing Raoh and Toki's genuine storyline. They also added more siblings and family members. This has become typical of most animes, but why did it have to occur in Hokuto No Ken? It was disgraceful to the original storyline. This flashback, however, includes Raoh and was not on Youtube at the time I searched for it. I needed to bring back the true antagonist of the series!

  • @DestructProduct Actually they added "crap" from after the first saga, the Shin's one, trying to make it go on and on adding characters pivotal to ken's life but of which no one seemed to remember few minutes before...

Not that it was all badly put together, ok, but surely not finely crafted...

  • @yumeshimanet Actually, Shin's "Saga" was like the first 6 chapters of the manga :P so it was hardly a saga at all.

If you want a more coherent story following around Kenshiro whupping asses, check out the prequel to FOTNS.

  • @knucklez2 6 volumes were not that bad back then and considering how short the manga was.

I've seen the prequels, too, both kenshiro den and ten no haoh: not bad at all, I must say; the crappiest part was the lame sequelesque 3-part OAV with him battling the morons of Lastland.

  • @yumeshimanet Lol I mean 6 chapters, Shin dies incredibly fast in the manga.. The anime has WAY More of a build up to him. He's more of an intro villain in the manga,.

For prequels, I was talking about Souten No Ken, the prequel series that takes place around the World War 2 Era in Japan and China. It's incredibly badass, Kasumi (the main character) has much more personality than Kenshiro. He's more playful and cocky but still stoic and badass.

I really dislike all of the FOTNS OAVs :/

  • @knucklez2 Oh, I saw SnK and tried my best to forget it; it was done by just an author of the original HnK and it sucked ass so badly.

A tabagist yakuza kenshiro was lame enough, but they added extra hokutos, inexplicable karma connection and some john-wooesque cut to the series, not to mention AFAIK the manga was a flop.

  • @yumeshimanet Read it, don't watch it. The anime series is garbage but the manga series is really good, trust me! I do admit it starts out slow but some of the fights later on are fantastic, and Kasumi Kenshiro is a pretty awesome main character.

  • @knucklez2 is SnK manga still going on or, even better, finished? I thought they dropped it, too.

  • @yumeshimanet IIRC it's finished in japan, but translations are still going. 153 of 200+ ish chapters so far, so about three quarters done. I will message you with a website where you can read it.

  • @DestructProduct I couldn't agree more. The *real* series ended with Raoh's death. After that, it's just one incongruence after another just to extend the series. It didn't work, sorry. Besides, the storyline was just not very good.

  • @brobbus0 hyo was a pretty good character, and so was kaioh, but what's confusing is this, if all of the ones mentioned lost to Kenshiro because they had feelings and affection towards lost loved ones, then by that notion wouldn't Jagi have been the toughest fighter in the series, since he loved no one, and was just fucked in his head.

  • @DestructProduct yea i agree. Actually i'd disregard anything that occurs after souther's death. That's when the manga started to suck. Kenshiro already almost beat Raul once so there wasnt really any suspence to it

  • kenshiros mother and raohs mother were sisters raohs bloodline were the original succesors of hokuto shinken raoh toki and kaioh have the 7th dots birth marks in their body kaiohs mark are on his head but couse 1 of raohs toki and kaiohs bloodline sacrefied her self 2 save kenshiros blood line from getting kill thats wen all beggin

  • I don't recall Ken's and Raoh's mothers being sisters...where did you gain this information?

  • @DestructProduct they weren't and they aren't even mentioned: their ancestors' ones were...

  • It was not Kenshiro's and Raoh's mothers, but their distant ancestors, Shuken and Ryuoh respectively, who were cousins. Shuken was the founder of Hokuto Shinken, while Ryuoh (if you follow the anime) founded Hokuto Ryuken (the manga doesn't mention this fact and Souten no Ken gives a different origin to the Hokuto Ryuken).

It doesn't really much sense, considering Hyoh (a descendant of Shuken) trained in Hokuto Ryuken, while Toki and Raoh (both descendants of Ryuoh) trained in Hokuto Shinken.

  • Nah I believe he is talking about Kenshiro, Toki, Jagi and himself. They are all searching to be strong. They are all step-brothers (except Toki and Raoh). What we brothers are searching for (the four trained by Ryuken).

  • This doesn't really make sense. Raoh says Kenshiro will become a strong warrior, when in the original series he always scoffed at his power (until post-Souther and onwards).

  • Yep, I just saw the video and I noticed that too.

HnK2 had a lot of things in it that don't make any sense.

  • Legends of the north star : Kenshiro & Raoh!

  • I have the same boxset that this is from. Pretty bad ass cut scene, one of my favorites as well.

  • were and how can i see this

  • Get the program VeohTV. Also there are plenty o sites that have episodes - I imagine you already found this out so this for others seeking the saga of Hokuto No Ken as well... WAATCHAAAA!!

  • HnK2 wasn't that bad, but it could've been alot better without all the retcons they did. I think its funny how everyone from the first series suddenly has a lost twin (Lui, Hyou and Kaioh). Kaioh should be nominated for most derivatite villain ever.

  • I thought it strange how when they first get to the Island everyone is meant to be like the ultimate badass then they all become normal after an episode or two! I liked Ein though.. Like Cowboy Bebop - I'm going to call my next dog 'Ein'..

  • Good call. You get the feeling that everyone is so badass as they die mocking Ken. They do that so well... and then it goes to waste. At first I was fired up and then I was like... whatever happened to the shura standard? That kid abused Falco after all. The Kaioh fight was a joke because they set him up well too... once he took off his mask he became another joke.

  • I love how they pull these "flashbacks" out of a hat. That's just bad writing.

  • I agree with you. I do not understand the need for "shura" island. I know it was in the manga, but I feel that it was perfect with Raoh and Toki having their village wiped out and them trying to survive..."Seal my fists if I ever steer the wrong way"

  • So Raoh and Kaio are brothers? I haven't seen the episodes leading to where he fights Kaio...The ones I've seen were of Kaio in the armored suit.

But in the flashback Raoh doesn't say anything about Kaio...He just says brother. Meaning it could just be Touki. Right?

  • hes talking about kaioh raoh and ken are the straight blood dessendent of the hokuto family their cousins raohs mother was ken mother blood line sister
