I thought you could z target the witch you wanted to hit and shield and you'd be guaranteed to reflect the right blast into the right witch in the twinrova fight. Is that wrong? Would that save a couple of seconds?
pfft chuck norris could do this any day! xD but seriously dude good job! i finished a speed run on the legend of zelda ocarina of time and i timed myself... i got 3:20:34 took me forever to get the master sword glitch to work =.= but i ended up doing it but i want to try harder and get a time like you ^_^
@DietFrizz Yes I know he wanted to complete all dungeons. I just thought that the cut scene in the temple of time would be automatically triggered after receiving the spirit medaillon, but it turns out you do have to go there.
I'm trying to get into OoT speedruning and I don't know how to use FTPII on hombrew ti change the text. Every time I either only change the text on the menu, change the VC text but it won't let me play it( It says it couldn't play the channel) or nothing happen at all. I REALLY need help and it would be awsome if you could respond. Thank you. And again, I need help with changing the VC game's text.
@maxd654321 dont feel down, you how much time he had to take to practice all these glitches? and do it ALL in one session? dont worry i quit oot at the water temple when it came out as a kid but finished it a few years later xD
yeah im pretty sure this is a world record finishing all the temples but the world record holder for glitch running is counted from when link gets out of his bed to the time he beats ganon (not all temples completed) which is 2:26:56, good run though thumbs up
ow does he moon walk at 15:55? i have the japan gold cartrage for n64 how does he moon walk? please respond the button combination in coment please thats freekin sick! =)
@Kosmicd12 Not exactly what Noscreenname1 said. As he skips the Goron Tunic, he gets a time limit in the Fire Temple. For each one of your hearts you'll get 8 seconds extra time. He has 10 hearts which gives him a total of 80 seconds.
This time is mainly needed for the boss. As you can see, he had only 1 second left on the timer once he was done. Once it reaches 0, you die.
@Tomtelala oh that makes a lot of sense. thanks for the info! :) i was wondering why each time i went in the fire temple it would always come up with a "random" amount of time. now i know :)
Alot of your videos aren't encoded, SL. If you need an encoder, just gimme a shout-out, I think it'd be great to work on such great runs. Speak to me on tasvideos' IRC.
This is using the Japanese version, which is heavily faster thanks to using Japanese language instead of English. That's the main reason why this run is faster.
It is also using different timing. This ends the timing on the last hit delivered on Ganon, while TASes ends timing on the final input, which is about 3 minutes later.
@AcePro TAS is ALWAYS going to be faster. It means Tool assisted speedrun, which means people advance frame by frame with inputs every frame, so there are virtually NO mistakes. Basically, the medeoker way. Real speedruner sit down with a controller in their hands and play the game as fast as they can.
@noscreenname1 I know what a TAS is, and I love them. I was asking why this was faster than the TAS version of the same game, and the guy said it was mostly the faster text and stop point, which makes sense to me now. Thanks anyway =)
O.O 5 years? You must have taken your time :P. I suggest going through it again, it's very fun. I beat OoT 4 times on 64. Master Quest once. and Now I'm playing through OoT 3D for 3Ds. Amazing game
RTA timing is used - timing starts at resets, and ends when the boss dies.
You can get the timer on the side with a nice program called Xsplit. When you stream, you can have more then one window in the stream at a time. It's very useful, and many streamers use it. The best timer to use is Wsplit, but it wasn't out at the time this run was created (I think).
@darknight550 Not really. This video is a response to the TAS by Bloobielba clocking in at 2 hours 51 minutes and 19 seconds. But both of these are all dungeon completion videos.
SDA is an abbreviation for Speed Demos Archive. It is a website that hosts numerous speed run videos like this one (except with better video quality).
