@ANDERTHALRADIO dunno, but i have met a group of American teenagers that could barley speak Chinese and with no Chinese friend wander around the streets, they looked like they were having fun.
My wife and I lived there in 94-95 when we taught English at East China Geological Institute (I believe they have since changed the name). I cannot believe how built up it is compared to when we lived there. Half the stuff in your video wasn't there, there were only a tiny fraction of the cars you saw and there were chickens, ducks, water buffalo, etc all over the place.
You must have got pretty strange looks here... That is half the experience when visiting somewhere like Fuzhou Jiangxi. It would have been great to get some closeups of those. Although, I go here about twice per year and only managed to get one great shot of a guys cigarette falling out of his mouth when he saw me.
no one can say that to their hometown, you ought to be ashamed of yourself, dont u? BTW the food is so good, and people there are not ass as you are!!!
Totally agree on what you said. I was born in Fuzhou, and I used to study there for a very long time. I have to say I love there more than any other places else, including New York...
I was totally shocked when I saw this vedio, it's my hometown Fuzhou in Jiangxi, not Fujian, haven't go back for a long time.... if u google with 抚州, u will definitely find some info about the city.
@WinkyLau There are two Fuzhous, in two different provinces. The Fuzhou in Jiangxi is much smaller compared to the other Fuzhou and much less well-known.
They boast as having the third largest cathedral in China. I don't know if you had a chance to visit it. However, last time I was there they charged me for visiting the cathedral. It was ridiculously small...
You must have had a weird experience. I absolutely love Fuzhou, and can't wait to get out of NZ again and go back there. The air is very dirty yes, but other than that I love it. So much to do, so many nice people, great food (Fuzhou fishballs are awesome), and many other things.
Yes, this Fuzhou was named Fuzhou back in the 50's, but was then changed to Linchuan in 87 due to confusion with Fujian's more famous Fuzhou. The people here still call in Fuzhou though, even though on half of the maps it's calld Linchuan, and the other half Fuzhou. There's about 1,000,000 people that live in Fuzhou.
hi, very nice video. It's first time i saw sb made a video for my hometown. You are right about the name of the town. just want to add onto it, the name of the town spells the same way as the one in Fujian province, but they pronounce differently with different tones. Chinese character for them are different as well. One in Jianxi province is 抚州, it is 福州 for the one in FuJian province.

Thank you for posting this. We adopted my daughter from the Fuzhou Orphanage in 2004. The city has changed. Your video was a thrill for us.
