What the proposed bill will do is make private insurance so costly that most people will not be able to afford anything other then the public option, via taxes levied against private plans and losses in subscribers.
The end result is that most people will have to go with the public option ( remember, having insurance will be mandatory).

@donttelluseenme No it is Detroit that is going to close I can't remember the number of schools but it is a very high number,they are talking something like 60 students per classroom,that should really help those students get a quality education.but yes Michigan is in very sad shape if you want to see something sad go to Detroit and see what has happened to that city,it has lost someting like 45% of it population since I believe the 1980"s.

That is what insurance is or should be. Protection against high loss of value. you don't get your oil changes, brake changes, tune ups paid for by your car insurance and that's why those things don't cost so much. More freedom & more individual responsibility is the answer not gov't handout
