Twice your own body weight could get you above 40 inches of running.

The purpose of regular hurdles which are only 42" high for men and 33" high for women, are to clear the hurdles with the least amount of clearance without knocking them over so the hurdler can maintain his fast pace, but on the ultra high hurdles, the purpose is to jump as high as possible so the hurdler can develop a good one legged jump (the Fosbury flop) for the high jump competition.

You should get your intensity level way up and really get your reps way low because you're pacing yourself!
As a beginner athlete who could get strength on any type of workout, I really suggest you lift way heavier.

You're hardly pushing anything and not gaining real strength at all on that because you're doing WAY too many.
You have no idea what strength training is all about.
High rep is 12 reps but 1 rm affects more on strength and all the characteristics of your game!
You're training your endurance rather than explosiveness.
You'll not gain muscle on that.
Quit hitting those reps and start squatting twice your own body weight

Being able to produce almost all your maximal force quickly will not get you any where.
Maximal force is generated naturally in 0.4 that's twice the time.
But a weak athlete who squats 100 pounds max could generate 85 pounds of force in point two will not get him up.
Say you have 25 inches vertical with 200 pounds max squat.
Then you're able to squat 400 pounds max.
Speed stays the same but the force is twice.
You're vertical HAS to increase dramatically!
