hey TheAppleMan100, I'm glad that you know how to install it so why don't you tell us. I've also successfully installed mac osx on a pc by bypassing kernel panic using modcd but I want a permanent fix. Do you know what to do?
yeah you need a newer version of a hackintos iaktos s3 i recomed and you need to search on google for cpuz and you see your proces typ (SSE2, SSE3) search wich kernel you need to use and smbios chipset drive!
@drrobertoboogie97, Less intelligent. BSoD will give a error report with the file that crashed, either a driver of one of your devices, or Windows itself. It's rare that Mac gives info like that, and mostly like here, it just says "Please Turn Off Your Mac", which you do, and then when you turn it on, your literally PRAY that it won't happen again without a report, and that Mac Support has the freaking awnser, and won't say that they don't recognize it.
It's a kernel panic. It occurs when important files of the OS are missing or corrupted. May be caused if you do a hard shutdown while installing a software update. Boot from the leopard cd and do an "achieve an install". Your system will be repaired and no files will be lost. Except if it it happens due to damaged hard drive. Then u must have your HD replaced.
see, this is the main difference between windows and OSX. In windows, a BSOD 99.99% percent of the time is nothing harmful and your computer is ok. But in OSX, a kernel panic 80% of the time means your screwed and your mac probably wont boot.
@TheWindowsComputer Which is exactly why you get much less kernel panics in Mac. Don't get me wrong, I like Windows and Mac alike, but I have rarely ever seen a kernel panic on a Mac. Are there kernel panics on Windows to? Or just BSODs?
@TheWindowsComputer its usally because of a faulty drive inserted or corrupted or missing file all you have todo is boot froma leopard dvd and do a "Archieve and install" and your good to go it happens usally if you are installing a update like mac os x 10.4.10 to 10.4.11 and you stop it in the middle of it this is want will most likely will happen but its very easy to fix
the only good reason not to buy a mac and install it on a pc is because mac is too overpriced and installing it on a pc can actually be a huge advantage especially over security. ( also as im running it now its not as bad as i thought it was and doesn't take much system requirements unlike vista! )
i had a problem with my hackintosh i had no qe/ci support but than i found some apps that did not need qe/ci support and did the same things as the ones that needed qe/ci
lol* that was just a simple prob. if u didn't quit ur apps before shutting down. that will happen esp. when there was a numbers of apps running. mac os x gives U a pretty good service. id say win xp was ok but vista sux! win 7? well its okay there were similarity with snow leopard but so far its great i guess, we'll see in the future though... he he
this occurs when u selected something not compatible with ur pc espcially kernels! Even If U Select The Wrong Graphic(Display) Drivers, U'll Only Stuck With A Blue Or Black Screen, As For Audio, U'll Only Get No Sound So It's Most Probably Kernel(If U Selected Vanilla Kernel, Uncheck It, It Wont Work On Most PC)
I've been using windows 7 for quite a while, no Blue Screen Of Deaths, no errors and any error I've encountered in Windows 7 was third party. A windows program has never crashed on my PC.
@ manuelm411: the first time and second time no because when i reinstalled it my hard drive i used was still there i used it and it kept it but the 3rd time it was all gone had to put all my stuff back on it it was a pain i had that problem 3 times
Failed boots are mostly software related. If it's hardware related, it would not make a chime sound and there would be no video shown. Basically, nothing would happen after pressing the power button. The chime is always a good sign. The chime means that the power supply and all your hardware is functioning enough to get the computer started.
...because PCs tell you exactly what the problem is and how to fix it, and when you boot Windows, the tech gods bestow upon you the power of a plus 3 mouse with the ability to conquer the world.
Like Vallecrash said, you can look at exactly what went wrong by looking at the crashlog. Since the machine won't boot, you will have to put it in target mode to pull off the crashlog, or in the case of a hackintosh, you may need to put the HDD in an external shell to look at it on another machine.
Your dumb dude. it's not TARGET mode, it's target disk mode, and in this case, that is USELESS. What he needs to do is start the computer up in VERBOSE mode by holding down the command and then V key before the chime sounds during startup.
lol you cannot install mac on windows, if you manage to get it working on a pc dont expect to run properly. mac os x was designed for apple machines only and besides, installing mac on a pc is illegal
No no, its something to do with the BIOS, you need to set them correctly when you delete Windows and Install Mac OS X. It should actually run fine seeing that Windows and Mac both use "Intel". Basically for a 90% chance to not mess up your computer is to back up your windows on a spare CD if you do not have a installation disk from when you brought the PC and use it as a back up if you wish to remove Leopard or Tiger.
@megamanfan3 Incorrect, you can do it vise versa and versa vice. It is just illegal (if I am not mistaken) to install OS X on a Windows based computer.
