GI and AO is probably used mostly by people doing still images ( which i found out is the vast majority ) i hope to get more time to try and learn carrara, vue and bryce which i grabbed on special this summer :) in vue frontier i had render times like 2, 4, 12 minutes at 1280x720 "final" quality
@mcasual yeah, trawling the forums I get that impression, I'm not a graphic arty type, more a frustrated puppet master, grew up doing puppet shows with socks and paper mach'e figures CGI is like an adult revisitation to my childhood. I would be shot down in flames if I expressed my opinion on CGI "art" involving posing other modeller's dressed dolls! but then I admit I couldn't do such pretty pictures myself so maybe it's jealousy!
I still like looking at their work to learn stuff .

@TruthSerum101 if it is any consolation, you can get Carrara 7 pro, and mimic pro (which makes Daz studio characters lipsync) with 3D world magazine for the price of the magazine, this scene cost extra from Daz3d but there are FAR lower Poly scenes in the program you could pan around and render for iClone backgrounds, I've only begun using video in iClone 4 as I've only had it a while (had iC3 only still pics), did this after seeing your vid BTW going to try it in iClone,
@wendyvainity I already have mimic pro with Daz - I just might get Carrara too.
Note: To create the type of video that I used in Move Ya Mind, you'll probably need iClone's pop up video converter. Feel free to PM me if you have any issues.
@TruthSerum101 the mag has the Carrara mimic pro plugin (like the DS lipsync) so no need to import seperate mimic files you can also import Daz studio collada files in7pro so you can do all your animation in DS if you like, I prob won't do anything too fancy in iClone (just video background) but at least the video option gets me outdoor scenes.
@TruthSerum101 my prob with iClone is the realtime rendering and a crap graphics card that crashes if I use too many trees and grass, which is why I now bought iC4, so I can use video, iClone is VERY easy to use though. Carrara does very high poly stuff and you can model in it to make props for iClone so worth considering for THAT!
