  • Very informative. I am greatful that someone is willing to show this art. How can I get my feet wet learning this procedure. I have many machines and would love to eventually recondition the ways. I understand that it takes years of experience to learn this skill, but I have to start somewhere.

    It is not as complicated as you might think. First of all, it takes a lot of patience in the beginning. Second, a huge part is about understanding geometry and metrology. If you do have a "good hand for it", I could show the basics in a week. But getting a feeling for what is going on and getting fast takes a lot of practice ... and patience.
