Two points. (1) Zorba the Greek is not part of Greek Culture. It was written by Mikis Theodorakis for the soundtrack of Zorba the Greek. It is as much Greek Culture as a Paul McCartney song for a James Bond movie is English culture. (2) the origins of the performance are wonderful. There was a Greek nurse working on the island. This is done to honour her.
