If you look past the 'hype shit' there's some absolutely brilliant dubstep knocking around, it's just a matter of knowing where to look. It's a shame that the less intelligent, pop-oriented dubstep makes it to the charts while people are missing out on such good music. Oh well, their loss! people who think dubstep is gonna last. i don't think it will. if i am not mistaken, dubstep is based off of dnb and dub plates, so, really, just increase the tempo of a run of the mill dubstep track, and see if it sounds like dnb. you may be surprised. =]

@M0t0ko no it will not, maybe you should talk to a proper percusionist / drummer about this (buy one a pint in your local pub). They will explain very clearly with a lot of drumming on tables that these two 'beats' as we would call them are totally different but have some similarities that allow combinations of the two.

@linarddd some dubstep has its virtues. i even only really like brostep. only thing i dont like about dubstep is how every 16 year old is trying to be a producer now, but even that is kind of whatever. good for them, best of luck. dnb has always been more fun to listen to for me anyway. i bet it catches on now that dubstep has gotten big.
