  • Dave Mustaine as Roland... I think that will be great :)

  • and then he saw the waystation

  • JAVIER BARDEM!!! :)) HE IS PERFECTO!

  • @ParkusComplex Nope. Vigo. Also Vigo has a plus with natural blue eyes.

  • They need to get Liam Neeson to play Roland. vote yes if you agree

  • I disagree. To me the PERFECT Roland is beyond us. He existed back during the 'Spaghetti Westerns' Terence Hill is ROLAND, he has always been.

Check the single video (there are many more) called the "Terence Hill Slap scene"

There are many others like it displaying his supernatural ice-blue eyes.

Back in the day...he would have been ROLAND, to a "Tee".

  • To me...aside from lamentations that who is to play Roland...

My personal favorite would have been "Terence Hill" Watch the spaghetti-westerns and see. A PERFECT Roland template.

  • Daniel Craig would be a good Roland... has the blue eyes and the awkwardly rigid demeanor

  • @CultureClasher Thank You! I saw it in Machete! When he was just wheelin' and dealin' in that drugie house I just thought 'Shit, that's Roland in an Armani suit!'

  • I know I'll probably catch flak for this, but I kinda want to see Josh Brolin play Roland.

Ryan Reynolds or Shia Lebouf could probably make a convincing eddie,

  • Im going to get crap for this but i think viggo mortensen would make a good roland

  • @XDirtydreamX

nah thats a good choice. especially after seeing him in "the road" i think he could pull it off well.

  • @XDirtydreamX

    Hmmmm.. Maybe.

  • @XDirtydreamX he´s the best ROland I can imagine besides old Clint Eastwood... atl least defenitly better than Bardem or Daniel Craig :S

  • @XDirtydreamX I agree with you on that. How could he NOT he played , Aragorn, who at one point was a "Ranger from the north", which was A LOT like The Gunslinger Roland Duschain in The Dark Tower Saga.

  • @XDirtydreamX viggo would be good, sean bean too if he could reign in his accent, clint eastwood would of been great. not an easy roll to cast for needs to be some1 with long hair a good american accent for the time. 6 foot plus with a strong face and broad jaw

  • I think Hugh Jackman would make a good Roland. He kind of reminds me of Clint Eastwood's younger years.;..

  • i think Hugh Jackman would make a good Roland.

  • great well done! this was the movie - and the legends.. - that the inspired king's 'the dark tower' - and ur music choice 4 insertion - perfect! and follw-ups coming? or is that for us to make, in this world?

  • @69gibson ah thanks for the kind words my good man. I haven't planned on any follow ups, but an actual Hollywood production is under way (if you haven't heard).

  • song name please?

  • @DavidSnake earth died screaming by tom waits

  • hang em high

  • When I read the books I dont remember Roland being all tired and stuff. This guy is an imposter. Ken it?

  • If I praise that much Clint Eastwood, it's cuz I imagine him as Roland <3

  • Of course it should be Clint, but now,he is 80 years old,if not Roland,Clint should play Roland's father or maybe Cort...yeah.....he defiantly should have a part in the movie, since he was the biggest inspiration for Roland, aside from the Poem ..

  • @mlmh75 I have two words on who Clint should play...Father Callahan.

  • @blinddoctorwho yes,that could defiantly work,except Callahan doesn't appear until book 5... :P

  • @mlmh75 Then for those about to watch the series when it comes out in movies(and a mini series?) then it'll be an awesome 'gasp' moment for the audience that doesn't know anything about it.

  • What movie was this from by the way, having trouble finding it.

  • @blinddoctorwho good the bad and the ugly

  • Maybe tony, you should blog your comments...I heard alot of douches do that when they complain openly about something others are here to enjoy.

  • i was just making my point... n by the way i did understand it i just didn't enjoy it...

  • well maybe you should listen to thedallybird, if you dont like it dont comment just to piss people off no one cares that you dont like it.

  • ok would you calm down now boy!! seriously!! I WAS JUS MAKIN A POINT !! now i know ur mad but still you cant just insult people for no reason !! now calm ur sense down and think about what ur mama taught u !!

  • hahaha maybe you should think about what your mother should have told you, when no one wants your input keep your mouth shut. hahaha.

  • hehehehe i read that book and it was the worst shit i ever read.. it made no freakin sense!!

  • tony why don't you go get a higher level of reading, it takes more than a 3rd grade level to understand the book. and why don't you wipe the drool away from your lip while your at it.

  • Nice use of Tom Waits.

  • frank darabont should direct he did great with shawshank and the mist, not to mention the green mile

  • Viggo Mortensen would be great i think

    Québec,Canada

  • Jake had a tragic bitching out with a poster of Eastwood in The Wastelands. He mistook Eastwood for Roland. Another interesting trait I wanted to see incorporated was Terminator walk. The gun store owner in Drawing of the Three saw Terminator and dropped dead of a heart attack from seeing Arnold walking. Wonder how that'll play.

  • no, it wasnt that guy, was one of the policemans i think his name was carl

  • Hugh Jackman all the way with sideburns!

  • my penis...it breathes.

  • @Isamright33

Mine too, which is why i keep trying to choke it.

  • just because u like hugh laurie doesnt mean he'd be a good roland... terrible idea

  • I think Hugh Laurie would be a great Roland.

  • See for me, When thinking of Roland, I always go with Henry Fonda from Once Upon a Time in the West, the blue eyes underneath that flat brimmed black hat... That's Roland. Plus King said several times Clint was close.. but not quite it. However, it's however the person who read it chooses to view him

  • The cover for the original Gunslinger always looked like Lou Diamond Philips to me.

  • WTF Roland CAN'T be Eastwod!, I mean, yeah the character is made somewhath after him, but putting him in the role kinda defeats the purpose and the sense of originality

  • this kinda stuck, really bad actually

  • that was the shit!

(...well the first 30 seconds at least)

  • Stephen King has admitted that Clint Eastwood was his biggest inspiration into who Roland resembled.

  • Actually what king said was that Rolan was made up of a piece of him, Eastwood and Yull Brenner from thw West World movie

  • I ever hear Tom Waits when I am reading Books of the Dark Tower Epos!

  • Has any one seen the Grifter Logan Trailer ?

  • i always imagined roland looking like a young clint eastwood as i read the series..

  • I like how you integrated The Good The Bad and The Ugly.
