Actually, most people are brainwashed NOT to question what really goes on in the seal hunt, OR most slaugtherhouses. These young men are taking a sincere stand against cruelty, having had their eyes opened to both the beauty of undisturbed wildlife, and the horrors of the hunt.
Given their principled willingness to rethink seal kill propaganda, they might indeed begin to question other forms of cruelty as well.
You shouldn't underestimate the intelligence of young Canadians.
define your interpretation of the horrors of the hunt! please & thank you! the intelligence of the average young on such matters depends on where & how they are raised! kids that age think that they are the masters of all knowledge! if you have kids you will agree yes/no?in actual fact they are oblivious to the way life happens away from the comforts of their cozy everything killed wrapped packaged out of site out of mind urban lives. not to sound bitter !but true it is!
besides if they were asked the question first for example! how many times have you seen animals slaughtered in your life time? is it the same as you seen other animals killed? if so why? and notice how the girl asking the question about the beauty & brutality of what goes on out on the ice flows, now i am pretty damn sure they never explained why this happens or the jobs that it creates? i am thinking no they didn't! so mislead or brainwashed it falls into that category of propaganda!

You know damn well that the industry is well represented in this country, with government support and dollars getting YOUR message about JOBS out there at the expense of other issues...like cruelty and shameful waste.

Man talk about stupid... Why don't you go to a farm, take some pictures of some beautifull cows, chickens , and pigs. Then go to the slaughter house and see how they are killed so you can have your fast food, BBQ's, and eat your well balanced diets.

I've been to a slaughterhouse H20,and I try to avoid eating anything that is the result of pain and suffering. That's the point. When people know the truth about where things come from, they can act on their conscience. As more and more people are learning the truth about Canada's seal hunt, they are appropriately outraged.

i'm not a sealer either but i am a fisherman, those guys just have no idea what it takes to keep everything going in todays fisherie. and they don't care all they see is that same old white coat year after year,even if we don't kill the white coats their just ignorant to the facts and don't want to listen.what they don't realize is that if we don't have a seal hunt we will have to have a seal cull,now that would be a waste .they just don't make sense.

If you truly want an answer to why some scientists disagree with DFO's rationale for a seal hunt, you will read the IFAW report, and have a sound counter argument. my statitics come from living it.there are too many seals , when you see 50000 pounds of cod being drove up in a beach because a herd of seals are out side there is obvious something wrong. the ifaw is one sidedand we here live the other side.if we were taking a million seals i could even see people getting upset but what were taking out of this population is not even denting it.

SHAME on Canada!Please boycott Canadian seafood, and support the ban on seal products if you live in a different country.
