I was in the snake pit when she started ranting and the fans who remained who hadn't gone for a drink or a pie were VERY unimpressed. It was never intended to be funny. She was drunk and bitter (though not drunk on bitter). Never slag off your own supporters, Sir Arthur South did it and was never forgiven. It was only in retrospect that some fans said it was funny to 'play it down' but it was a stupid thing to do which she's never apologised for.
