  • Haven't checked all the comments below on this track but the song is basically a parody on a pseudo-science book entitled "Supernature" by a one-hit wonder author Lyall Watson. The book became immensely popular in the 80's and APP obviously decided to record a critical commentary of the whole thing. One of the many stpuid ideas in the book was that you could keep your razor blades eternally sharp if you stored them at the centre of a scale model of the great pyramid of Cheops at Giza.

  • One of the best albums I heard in my life. I was only 7 years old...

  • That is a rippin' tuba solo.

  • this rlly needs a video O__O

  • Fantastica mezcla de pop y rock sinfonico musica unica genial

  • This almost sounds like it would blend in with any album from the Cars. Especially Candy O it had alot of quirky 2 minute songs.Or am I wrong?

  • didn't read all the comments to check - but did anybody mention that when this tune was released, pyramids were very trendy? Everybody was buying them for good luck. Even the coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs (Red Kelly) tried to invoke Pyramid Power by putting them under the player's bench to improve their play - 1976.

  • Next to Turn of a Friendly Card, Pyramid is my favorite APP album...the album

    cover is awesome.

  • Fucking genius!

  • Wave - Alan. Fame and Fortune is yours, just send 50 pounds!

  • Forgot all about this song. Thanks!

  • The nearest Alan Parsons got to a pop hit i think :) correct me if i'm wrong :D

  • @TheBoneidol1

Games People Play charted @ 16 US. But it was a different style from Pyramania,,I never liked it that much.

  • @airkev

I like the album Turn of a friendly card , i'd forgotten Games people play was a single, just listened to it again

to remind myself...it's a good track, but not really a pop style...thnx 4 the reminder :)

  • As of April 7, 2011---sad to report---12 idiots walk among us.

  • @fek2000 And now, thirteen

  • Alan Parsons Project: sensacional!!!

  • Haven't heard this in years. it would be great to see an original video for it.

  • I want to see the original music video again. Please someone find it and post it.

  • God I love this. Got the Essential Alan Parsons Project for Christmas, and I can't get enough!

  • are you saying that the pajamas don't work......

  • @MultiGubgub Precisely what you should be wearing is a pyramid. And that's it. Nothing else!

  • ..."and the mayan panoramas, on my pyramid pajamas, haven´t helped my little problem"... superb.

  • i like this paul4483 117 10

  • @TyRYANasaurus Wow, I love your anecdote! That is a wonderful and memorable way to discover this incredible band! Almost as mysterious as the album art and music on it!

PS: Doesn't the front AND back cover *totally* match the whole mood of the music?? Pyramid is my favourite APP cover art. If only Alan had worn Mayan panorama pajamas on it... :-/

  • This song always gets stuck in my head :)

  • This is truly a great album! Great song!!

  • I loved this album when it came out and it's still one of my favs!!

  • its about how people arrange their life according to silly superstitions, lured because they believe it will solve all their problems (the topic of the song pretty much corroborates with "the turn of the friendly card" album)

  • a very memorable album cover...

  • I have always liked the scientific side of the APP's music! That tune is my favorite! Alan parsons Project: best band for science enthousiasts!...

  • I recall purchasing a fold-out pyramid in the 70's that promised similar crap:D

  • @Sciochick , you're not the only one...the trend,as always, came later to countries like mine (Spain), so in the 80's we were all buying pyramids and all the rest...

  • "Pyramania" sounds like the orchestral part of "Silence and I ".

  • funny.

  • Who is the eagle?

  • Clever, clever, clever.

  • Thank you! Have "I' Robot," "Pyramid," "Eve," and "Turn of a Friendly Card" on vinyl...thankd God for college days (now I'm dating myself.) Why aren't these on cd???

  • Hey everyone! Alan Parsons will be releasing his NEW single “All Our Yesterdays” TODAY: Tuesday, June 15 2010. Available on i-tunes! Check it out!!

  • @authentikartists Thanks!

  • RI*GHT ON!!!!! ALWAYS lovin to see another TRUE A.PArsons fan!! Woo HOOOO

  • great band

  • A 'silly song'? I would say..a 'clever song'. Typical of APP with all their albums..they take the basic subject matter of the concept that they are focussing on..and examine it from many different angles (No pun intended).

  • This song inspired me to investigate about the myths of the Pyramids; not the ones from Ancient Egypt's Pharaohs and Mythology, but those about their "magical" abilities ("You can keep the edge of a razor as sharp as an eagle's eye" - It's said that if you leave a razor or any other cutting element inside a Pyramid (most exactly the epicenter) it regenerates its edge)

  • Genial Eric Woolfson Fantastico todo un Genio.

  • and the mayan panoramas on my pyramid pajamas havent helped my little problem

  • Buena musica,geniallllllllll

  • I go stupidly insane when i listen to this song, have it on first press LP!!!!! nanananananana na houuuuu!

gotta tune in to this on acid.... never come back lool

  • ... "I´ve consulted all the sages

I could find in the yellow pages

But there arent many of them

    And the myan panoramas

    On my pyramid pajamas

    Haven´t helped my little problem"...

  • Maybe I should get a couple of Pyramids

  • One of my favourite albums ever, it sounds incredible and the compositions are inspired and have great arrangements. I pick it up every couple of months and I remember it note for note. I would take this cd to a deserted island :-)

  • It isn't hanky-panky.

  • Absolute Masterpiece

  • Pyramid Pajamas...I have a pair ! Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon !! When i was a teen i had this on 8-track !!

  • I must buy this cd. I remember growing up and seeing my older brother playing the LP all day long.

  • 1:40 Tuba solo... this cannot be described in words.

  • Sounds very much like a tuba, but I am positive that this is an analog synthesizer. Those 16th notes would sound very different on a real tuba (not to mention that it would need a world class virtuoso player).

  • True I suppose. Nonetheless, it's still awesome.

  • I love this song. "My little problem." Funny!!! Woolfson. Genius!!!

  • Hey, those are EXACTLY my words!!! My favourite part is with the pyramid pyjamas! APP = 110% Genius!!! :-)

  • this song is freaking awesome!!! APP its just ... genius

  • One of my favorite APP tracks, thanks for posting!

  • awesome song

  • da werden erinnerungen wach....

    1981...erstes auto..

von einer alten kompaktanlage verstärkerteil ausgebaut und 10 lautsprecher ohne frequenzweichen in der kiste....

    alan parsons...mike oldfield...novalis....grobschnirtt...kraftwerk..usw.usw.

    haupsache geil und laut

  • hhahaa long road trips with only 3 tapes when i was a kid

    this

    chris de burg

    and pink floyd

  • same here.

  • Oh gawd....I remember after listening to this I tried to help my Dad keep his shaving razor sharp. Ended in disaster. XD

  • I had it on vinyl, its all happening here

  • My dad had this album on a tape...I remembered this song ever since I was 5!!!

  • Alan Parsons began his career at Abbey Road as an assistant engineer. Over the years he would climb the ranks to engineer and later to producer. Along the way he worked on albums like "Abbey Road" by The Beatles, and "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd. 1976 was the year that The Alan Parsons Project brought his name to the front cover of an album

  • I doubt seriously that the Project was around in 1970--even if they should have been.

  • I'm pretty sure that the first album 'Tales...' came out in 1975, so you could not have found them in 1970. The best engineered music of the 70's!

  • Popular to true APP fans. This is one of my favorites!

  • glad to see that Parsons Project has enduredthe test of years...I found them around 1970...the classics endure

  • Damn great song, but not popular or known?? cant find it than on itunes

  • @Lexorinox

Big in 1978 or so. Maybe why you can't find it now

  • @thinbutfun Lol, I posted this a year ago, weird to see my comment again ^^ but ok :)

  • masterpiece!!! excellent!!

    excellent voice and keyboards

  • SALUDOS DESDE PERU. EXCELENTE

  • fantastic song

  • wow, it really does stick in your head lol

    Good song

  • My favourite part: "And the Mayan panoramas on my pyramid pyjamas haven't helped my little problem"! LOL!

  • BEST ALAN PARSON SONG. IS AMAZING

  • Yes but wasn't the worshipping of pyramids a tad on the retarded side too? So in that light the song is rather fitting. Laughter is the best response to insanity.

  • Una cancion de un album efectivamente despreciado pero genial como casi todo lo del Project. An underrated song in an underrated album, nevertheless, a great tune, as with almost everything The Project has done.

  • The Alan Parsons Project now has an official MySpace page. I can't put the URL here, but a search of The Alan Parsons Project on MySpace will take you to the official page, and the fansites of course.

  • Esta tonadilla me vuelve loco!!!

  • I love this song :"all I ever get is a pain in the neck and a yap-yap"..."And the mayan panoramas on my pyramid pyjamas haven't helped my little problem"

  • this song is great... it can be used for dancing and singing... it's HAPPINESS!!!

  • The word spam itself is a promotion for Spam. A.P.P. has been underrated for too long !

  • wouw para mi buen rock

  • This is a great song , puts a lot of modern pop to shame, the vocal arrangements in Parson's work is always superb...

la la la la la la la aa oooh!

  • In the way that Alan Parson produced all of Pink Floyd's hits it does

  • Brilliant !!!

  • ahhhh...le piramidi.....flash!!!!!

  • lots of memories!!!!!

I was under ten and I felt mesmerized by this!

  • En 2 palabras: Temazo...mazo.

  • i already stole my dad's CDs for my iPod...the first week i got my ipod

  • I need to steal my dad's Alan Parsons Project CDs to put on my Ipod

  • ...if you fold, a dollar in the shape of the Pyramid that's printed on the back!

    It works!

  • Espectacular el sonido para la epoca!!!!

  • I haven't listen to this song for so many years.

I have to check the CD in the shop.

  • I know how he feels.

  • the InsaneMojo was Beer!

  • Pyramide Is my Favorite APP album

  • Great song from a great group. Hard to believe this is already 30 years old...wow

  • Reminds me of 10cc

  • One of my favorite albums from that era!

  • Thanks for posting this.

You all should know Alan is the sound engineer on the extraordinary Dark Side Of the Moon from pink Floyd. He worked for the Fab Four also back in time. The greatest SE there is. Not to mention his awesome talent in music writing and sound researcher.....

I just can't get enough of it.

  • I heard that! No wonder I was attracted to his music! I always felt it had a very Pink Floydish Sound. Very unique.

  • well this doesnt but alot of alan pasons songs sound like what alan parsons did with pink floyd and dark side of the moon

  • Guess who produced Dark Sidw of the Moon?

  • Don't forget the work he did at Apple on the Beatles albums.

  • That would be Pink Floyd.

    Now...ask me who ENGINEERED it?

  • Remember that Eric Wolfson engineered the Rolling Stones, too.

  • APP are a great band. This sounds like something 10cc might have done.

  • is that a sousaphone or tuba solo? sounds cool

  • seems to me most of the album is about ancient times even has an ancient feel to some of it

  • I think this album is more about false hope than it is about anything masonic. Listen to the album and you`ll get a better feel for what this song is about. Are any of the APP albums not conceptual?

  • When it came out, it just seemed to be mocking the latest craze of the time. Pyramids were being claimed as the 'cure all' for everything from headaches to keeping razors sharp. The 1970s had a bunch of silly crazes, like pet rocks, mood rings and the movie "Jaws" ... pyramids were just one more and Alan Parsons had some fun with it. Hence, the laughable tone of the music.

  • This came out in 1978

  • Of what year is this song?

  • Bacanaza la música, es super cool!!

  • The next song of this in the album, i like the most

  • You can love women all that you want, but still the yak, yak, yak,... comes with the package, along with PMS and crankyness.

  • My dad is Jack Harris!

  • dude that must be awesome.

  • like a XTC song

  • yap, yap, yap, it´s really running&running.

  • Yap yap yap yap...lol. I don't think Alan or Eric liked women very much. There's some biting criticism of them in these songs.

  • Not undeservedly.

  • All I ever get is a yap yap yap yap yap yap yap yap yap yap !!!!!!

  • Another fine piece of artwork from both Parsons and Hipgnosis as well for the album cover work. Remember the psychedelic poster that came with this LP ?

  • I lovee this song! My dad would always listen to it. Its so cool. i`ll always remember it haha.

  • : ) 30+ years since this was released and it is still one of my favourite albums. Are they touring Toronrto thjs year? Thanks for the posting.

  • fantastic song...WHO influence maybe, and more....

  • Oh my gosh, I kept looking at that title thinking, "I should know that song" then I watched (listened)and had great memories of college - APP, Pink Floyd, Styx, Monty Python, giggle!

  • Zany song...

  • Oh APP Pyramid!!!I love it!My dad recommended it.

  • fantastic song....

  • WOW another masonic APP song!!!

  • isn't that Parsons on the cover? it looks like it.

  • Easy to tell because of the beard, isn't it? =P

  • very god song (progresivo)

  • ¡Es muy divertida! We use to call this music progresive rock ¡and it was!

  • There are pyramids in my head There's one underneath my bead And my lady's getting cranky Every possible location Has a simple explanation And it isn't hanky-panky I had read Somewhere in a book, they improve all your food and your wine It said, that everything you grow in your garden would taste pretty fine Instead, all I ever get is a pain in the neck and a Yap yap yap yap yap yap yap I've consulted all the sages I could find in the yellow pages But there aren't many of them
  • Wow,thanks for the lyrics.

    Loved this song,and still do.

  • no problem

  • And the myan panoramas On my pyramid pajamas Haven't helped my little problem I've been told Someone in the know can be sure that his luck is as Good as gold, money in the bank and you don't even pay for it If you fold, a dollar bill in the shape of the pyramid that's printed on the back It's no lie You can keep the edge of a razor as sharp as an Eagle's eye, you can grow a hedge that is vertically straight over Ten feet high, all you really need is a pyramid and just a little luck
  • I had read, somewhere in a book, they improve all your food and wine

I'd been told, someone in the know can be sure of his good luck

It's no lie, all you need is a little bit of pyramidic help

  • Forgot to add Nana baohu

  • lol

    nananananananananananananana

    baouuhh (DEEP VOICE OMG)

  • thanks for uploading this song ^_^ I have it on cd when cds were popular back in the 80s lol

  • Heh, I got my CD a few weeks ago. :P

  • From memory it was along the lines of him putting a dollar in a pyramid and a pile of money appears, so he puts a girl in there and gets 7 girls and so on. It would be good to see it again.

  • That would be an awesome video. I'd like to see it as well.

  • There is a video clip for it, very entertaining one too though I haven't seen it for years.

  • Really? That's something I'd like to see. :)

  • love this song, have it on my ipod.

  • I'm with JanovPre, I have waited AGES for some kind individual to upload this song. Thank you so much, colejordan123. Just wondering, is there a film clip for this song?

  • Not that I know of, sorry. It would probably be a funny of if there was. :)

  • I've been searching for this song for months. Thanks a lot for adding it.
