  • Using the needle and yarn to mark where to put the hook is a terrific and helpful idea. I wish the videography were a bit clearer, especially at the last minute when starting to single crochet back across the foundation... your hands are out of camera view.

  • thanks so much, you make it so much easier to understand... I can do this!!!

  • thank you! of all the no-chain foundation single crochet how-to videos on youtube, this was the one that "clicked" for me. i couldn't get the "yarn trick" to work, but your pacing and clear instructions (and pausing or restarting the video a lot) got me through it. hooray!

  • I have dyslexia and i think i am creative. I always knew i takes me longer to learn to do things but once i "get it" , I got it. You can do anything you set your mind to. You go over and over the lesson and you will get it and feel empowered because you have the power to learn and the richness in yourself to create.

  • Absolutely brilliant......you are a genious

  • thank you thank you thank you!

  • Thank you so much!!!!!!!

  • This is absolutely fabulous. I've been trying to learn how to do this for quite some time. One time through your video and, now, I can finally do it. Marking the next stitch the way you've shown, makes this so easy to understand and do. A+++++++++++++

  • I am in awe of anyone who can do what you do... I am dyslexic and have never been able to create anything like this... it is wonderful... smiles... JVD

  • @JaneVanDoe Have you read "Knit Along with Debbie Macomber - The Shop on Blossom Street" or any of Debbies books? She has dyslexia, and knitting really helped build her self esteem :)

  • @exotikk1... you are wonderful... however... I took piano lessons for years and tried to read music... I told the teacher notes looked like ants crawling around... every time I blink the position changes... LOL... I went to an eye doctor in NYC and he told me that I was the 'most dyslexic person on the planet' .... I'm afraid I will never play the piano or crochet... but I love to watch you do it... even if it looks backwards... smiles to you... and thank you for your caring... smiles... JVD

  • @JaneVanDoe Hi, Have you checked out the Ravelry or Crochetville sites? Ive seen that a few members have dyslexia and get creative with how they create knitting projects/adjust patterns...Perhaps you can start a thread on the subject, i think you'll connect with many others who may be able to help you bring out your creative side more...Wish i had more info for you but if i find any resources, i shall pass them along.

    Happy crafting! :)

  • Wonderful!! Now I know what I'm doing wrong!! The yellow yarn really help to clear things up.

  • Thanks!! I thought I would never get this but after this video I feel ready to try again!! Thanks so much!!!!

  • Your voice is a bit soft but once I got my volum up it was easy to understand. The idea of using the yellow thread to find your place was a really good one.

  • That is such a great way of doing a foundation chain. No more counting the chains. Great job!

  • Thanks. It was very understandable. I love the yarn piece suggestion.

  • Very understandable!! Thanks! Making the no chain foundation single crochet, actually makes the "foundation" stronger. At least it looks like it would be stronger. :-)

    Thanks for another great video!!

  • you are the best! Very clear and you make it look so simple!

  • FABULOUS! Very clear and simple. Good job!
