Part of it, the story goes was that she wanted to buy the store brand of raisins, and ML, who'd done some grape-picking labor in his youth, refused, holding out for the best. Mrs ML then whined, "If you loved me, you'd buy these raisins!", causing her husband to respond with .... well, you can connect the blanks. Anyway, cute story.
