I think a lot of schizophrenics hear voices yes, I also believe they have no clue how to interpret what it is that they "think" they are hearing, maybe this is what sends them over the edge. A friend of mine knows someone local who claims to be a Witch, she has this problem where she keeps talking to herself all the time and non of it makes sense, as though she's lost her mind. Many would interpret this as schizophrenia, maybe she's just letting too much in & not protecting herself psychically.

@Mediumchild Saying that you use your intuition is a very different thing from saying that you are psychic. A racing driver slowed down his car in time to avoid a crash that had happened up ahead. He could not physically see the crash but later figured out the reason he knew something was wrong was that all the heads in the crowd had turned in reaction to the crash. That's intuitive but it's not psychic. Though in a way, it's actually more impressive.

@Smithpolly everyone is psychic, it's just a matter of accessing it. You do know we only use like 10% of our brain, what if some people occassionally use more than that. The race car driver example isn't intuitive, it's instinctive. Big difference. I don't know why you are trying to convince me against my own personal subjective experience. lol - that's impossible, trust me :)

There are any number of articles that give good reasons why the 10% brain story is a myth.

As to presonal subjective experience, if you see a mirage in the desert, it doesn't mean that you'll find water if you head towards it.

@Smithpolly If you have a vision, an actual clip running right in front of your eyes with your eyes open and days later or minutes later that exact scenario happens, you have proof. I am done talking now, subjective experiences cannot be discredited.

@Smithpolly The evidence of psychic ability is zero because "psychic" is something that can't be seen. Schizophrenics hear voices all the time but doctors just say they're mad, I personally believe it's because they are not able to "switch off" & block out those voices at will like an experienced psychic would be able to. Being able to avoid a crash because you felt something was wrong is not intuitive, it's psychic. Not knowing how you got the message doesn't mean it wasn't there to start with.

It's the same as someone saying that a schizophrenic is possessed by evil spirits that need to be exorcised in order for the person to be cured. They believe in evil spirits. You believe in psychics. You both force schizophrenia into a mould that that gels with your world view.

@Smithpolly I like your view on schizophrenia, is it not true though that schizophrenics hear voices? One of the things they say about schizophrenics is that they suffer from auditory hallucinations and paranoid dilusions, the latter probably being due to them not understanding the voices that they think they have in their heads. A pyschic understands these voices & is able to either channel them or shut them out completely. We are all capable of psychic awareness, some of us without effort.

A man in medieval times might believe that they are hearing the voices of the evil spirits who possess them. He believes in demons. And this is all very well, until the "treatment" for schizophrenia becomes someone banishing devils or teaching him how to use his psychic abilities.
