The Spur is a great bike road but for sheer joy the Granya Gap is better.

@welcometojam It'd be hella fun for sure, but one would need some big brass ones to push it on a bike on any of the the three roads lol. Especially that one, since it's so lightly traveled that if you went off you better hope you don't get hurt cause no one will find you.

@welcometojam Oh and maybe I'll put a video up of an at-speed pace, the one right now is just a leisurely cruise heading home :). At those speeds, a bike would have a very tricky time keeping up unless the rider was experienced and knew the road well.

yea do a full throttle vid that would be really cool ...and i understand wat your saying, but an experienced rider on your road once in front there would be no catching up wats so ever bikes are too fast im sure you know if you ever driven/raced one in your car... check out "crazy greek riders" those guys have huge brass ones the road is a little less technical then yours but the riders are insane.

This road is just outa heasville victoria Australia . The road surface is A1 dunno if it is better than the dragon tail cause this road isnt very long !! But AWSOME to knee slide ect !!

@welcometojam I haven't ridden Black Spur (yet), but from the looks of this video, Black Spur is a way faster stretch of road than Tail of The Dragon, which I have ridden. The Dragon is *much* tighter and more technical, overall. But this looks to be quite a fun ride, I'm looking forward to it.

this run wins as 1 of the best if not the best due to the history of this road the trees are giant and its THE ONLY place in the world you will find them so you can ride ANYWHERE else on the planet quite like here you feel real F---ken small and shit moves so fast its a road i will never ever forget and i have ridden all over the globe but nowhere makes me feel like here does and at night it has the wood chopper

yes run up chum creek out over the back and across to the cathedral but up hill runs are more fun so watch the decent easy to over shoot a corner let us know when you post your ride im stuck in QLD miles from home

Nice video, I really liked it because you were riding fast but not dangerously or out-of-control;

you were riding at what 80%(?), held your lines with no dangerous run-off, lines were smart (i.e. away from cars cutting corners) and overtaking only when you had clear visibility, good stuff.

I think the only problem as others said is the news taking this and sensationalizing it .....

what happened there?

I live in the Netherlands... And I ride all weather... (K, unless it's icy out. Hard Ice, snow is ok though) If your wining about the weather you're no biker. (I know btw that it;s not you wining) I ride a cbr900rr from 1992 no electronics what so ever. traction control = right hand...

agreed..the guy behind you needs to try and stop hanging off too far and start looking at his road position. He could go way faster just by not hanging off as much and taking a different line. Seems he just likes being in shot. Still nice roads

Well I just got back from my trip 2 the spurs ( reefton and black). Well TUBLESS1300 thats good riding 2nd and 3rd most of the way . You know the road well. Awsome surface , road it in the wet 1 day there was no room 4 era love the challenge though. Done 4 trips in th dry and it was real good didnt like the big fat dead wombat an 1 corner ha ha !!! Reefton was sick will do them both again.Thanx 4 the vid would not of gone there without seeing it worth the 3hr trip to get there cheers be safe!!!

Pretty sure that you wouldn't keep up with the regulars that frequent that piece of road.

And if you do get up there a lot, then you'd know that.

Plus, back facing video looks faster than it really is.

( it is one of the best pieces of road surface-wise, but Reefton Spur nearby is more of a challenge )

fucking awesome ride, last time I went, I went home out of Healesville on the goat track to King Lake and then to Melbourne, too tight to fang it hard but about 100 switchbacks through the mountain rainforest! Fucken awesome!

I did a solo run up this road a few months ago and it is amazing. I fanged for a little bit but then just slowed down to look at the scenery.

Not sure about the "best road" title but it is certainly up in the top 3.

The Oxley Highway on the Central coast is my fave. Road is just as good, only a LOT longer

to all those posting "ZOMG D1CKHEAD" comments, the posted speed limit on the spur is 100km/h, and the cars being overtaken may well have been doing 60km/h which is standard there.

Nothing in this video is evidence of anything particularly unlawful, except perhaps crossing the solid white line

They just dropped it back to 80 kmh. Bummer 100km meant you could cnr pretty fast and just not speed in the straights. Up there yesterday and cops everywhere

The cars "may well have been doing the speed limit" and these goons are breaking it, also how about crossing double white lines, wheelies, hmmm wonder if the indicator was on? The speed limit is also 80km/h, not 100 as you suggest.

Unlawful is unlawful, you are correct. The speed limit has, however, only recently been lowered to 80km/h.

Again, the cars may have been doing the speed limit, however it is exceptionally unlikely from experience.

Good vid to watch while we have crap weather (this week for the main) to egg on ones self for next ride session :D I'm currently healng from nerve injury in my shoulder so I'm not riding HARD but yeah, I can still ride yet not move my arm whilst standing.. weird injury but no care, I CAN STILL RIDE while I am healing..
