  • Have always loved this song by Peter, Paul and Mary, even though it wasn't one of their "biggies." It has a message that makes you think. A Christian band I played with in the '70's covered this song, and always had fun playing it.

  • @tennisguy1973 its a great message.

  • This song came into my head today though I hadn't heard it since I was a child. This is beautifully sung, thank you!

  • I have also loved this song since I first heard it in the 60s. Thanks for keeping it alive.

  • @tomims I liked this ever since I was a little kid. Thanks. It has great sentiment. It paints a great picture.

  • Listened again....incredible!

  • @AngelBug514 belated thanks.so very kind.

  • Wow, beautifully done! You remind me of the many talented folksingers that used to perform when I was a kid. Terrific song, well played, and beautifully sung.

  • @Muffin2it you must be a folkie.i do alot of ppm.grew up on them.

  • I've loved this song since I first heard it in 1967. What touched me most was the songs parallel with events of my life. My mother and I walking to church while dad slept. In later years he went with us as well. Then my Theology classes in college and talk talk talk, the 60's vs church, government, industrialists, etc. Thank you for bringing it back to me.

  • @frilb my pleasure :-)

  • I bought the album, One Night Stand, on the strength of the Wedding Song, then fell in love with this song. Later, as a Christian, I realized the sad truth of the lyrics of this song and appreciated it even more. Good Job!

  • very spiritual song if you ask me. Liked it ever since I was a kid. At that time I thought it was about a nice person with a welcoming house. :-)

  • I just want to let you know that you have a really great voice for folk and this is a beautiful rendition of one of my favorite Peter Paul & Mary songs ever.

On July 12th, I will be singing this as a trio with my mom and older sister at our church. My mom will be playing a 12 string and I will be playing a 6 string.

  • You are good. I've loved this song for 40 years. Thank you.

  • hey thanks so much.Just like you this song grabbed me and stayed with me the very first time I heard it as a little boy.

  • I can't believe I didn't see this earlier! What a great song!!!! Loverly...

  • thanks

  • Lay your guitar case on the floor in front of you at a Friday Fish Fry in America and make tips, you can play and sing with the best of them. As you have said Spirituality Not Religion, although I believe in a higher power and he she it hears your gentle musical creations wafted up....................

  • Will try one of these days.prefer duo with soprano vocal.I like the harmony. I dont really need the people or the tips. The music on you tube is way more than enough for me. I truly enjoy just doing music.even just foolin around if it is not so good. Plus there is the whole web for an audience. Finally, not much time.:-)

  • You're really a natural with the form of music. You seem to connect very easily with it. Once again, nice job and beautiful voice!

  • so very kind :-)

  • Ohhh men that was so sweet and well done. You're made to that kind you know ? 1000 bravos !*****

  • You know this sonbg really grabbed me as a kid . You know how songs grab you? Nice symbol of simple but deep spirituality.Sptiritusality ,not religion. :-)

So now that Ive been playing a while it just came out. :-)

  • Its like karma. You all have said such nice things that childhood music memories arise with a life of their own and I just turn the recorder on. The kindness from all of you out there is sent back to you in the music. Thanks again.

  • You've had six views and I can't believe that you've had no comments. this is a fantastic song, and you played and sung amazingly soulful. it's in my favs.

    Alex...

  • so kind of you. its kind of a PPM revival from my childhood memory ,feeling ,sentiment and all. This arose just how I heard /interpreted it as a kid. Its as though I still am the kid hearing it. I have a good musical memory. I thank all the kind comments which have revived long lostmusic and feling. The songs come out by themselves and I just record them rough. Besides, thre is not alot of time. Thanks so much.

  • i did not know this one, but you did this so beautifully!very sweeet, soft, touching, so peaceful! very much enjoyed this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Its like karma. You all have said such nice things that childhood music memories arise with a life of their own and I just turn the recorder on. The kindness from all of you out there is sent back to you in the music. Thanks again.

  • Mum, have you recorded PPM's version of "Reason To Believe"? I first heard it on one of their albums in the 60's but have only found Rod Stewart's, which is very good but would love to hear PPM again.

  • thanks. Got a link? My cds are in a pile in the basement and my music is from childhood memory and youtube for reminder. For your tune I need mary if my memory serves me. So if you get me a link and mary like voice to jam Id try in a heartbeat. thanks a gain.

ps still no guarantees, so dont be offended if I dont deliver. The songs kind of do themselves if you know what I mean.
