Freaking amazing playing there. You've been my leading inspiration from the time I started playing, and still are. Thanks for keeping it up and I can't wait to see your latest videos. :)
That's amazing! Does your dulcimer naturally have that open, deep, and smooth sound? Mine sounds more shrill and plucky, what's the trick? Awesome job!
Thank you! I added in some reverb (the echoish sound), but other that, everything is untouched. When it first came, it didn't sound quite as open, but after a bit of playing it opened up, and I have been quite happy with its sound. Also some dulcimers it can be have a plus to not have as open a sound, and some builders prefer to make them with a less open sound. Thanks once again!
Hehehe, actually me and a couple of my friends did notice that this version has a lot of similarities to the Spiderman theme song, but it differs in many ways also.
This is my favorite dulcimer piece on YouTube. Very catchy.

I am looking for a dulcimer that would project enough to play in an irish pub....sounds like yours is one that would. where did you get it?

Love the echoish sound. How do you add the reverb? I'd love to get that sound on my dulcimer.

I've bookmarked this and am going to use it as inspiration to get my dulcimer out of the closet and get goin' on it. Brilliant, thanks so much!

If I was a live audience I'd be applauding for the next half hour. I was totally absorbed in the music. Brilliant.
Thanks,
Peter

What woods were used in the construction of your Yocky?
TsugaC 2 years ago
Black walnut top, waterfall bubinga sides, and normal bubinga back. The fretboard is maple, and a stripe of ebony. Thanks for checking out the video!

5 stars! The ease which you masterfully change the rhythms to simulate the train's speed really give your rendition great texture.
