just gotta say, my bunny ADORES water. I've had her since 2 months. from the beginning i let her walk around in the tub when there was water in it, but shes never gotten a real bath. i dont SUGGEST it, but whatever floats your boat. inside bunnies could get baths, because theyre not in the cold, harsh weather all the time. still dont SUGGEST it. There are oils on the skin, and its helthy to have them, and shampoo will take it away after a while if u bathe it too much. its same with ferrets
@MorgansBunny101 yeah thts wat i thought ive nvr given my bunny an actual bath like ths video ive just like groomed it and used some dry shampoo im so glad i dont hav 2 give mine a bath i dont thnk she would like it at alll :)
my bunnny was dropped when we first got him (it was a total accident! he squirmed around) so whenever we pick him up he gets super scared, though we take great care of him.
you should not really be giving rabbits baths beacause they have like a oil on their fur that protects them if it rains then they won't feel cold a bit like polar bears fat keeps them warm in the north pole plus rabbits are verry clean animals so all they really need is a brush they don't really need a bath
You know, instead of being complete assholes, MAYBE you should try and tell her how to properly take care of her bunny in the shower. Being a dick doesn't do shit. Don't lash out like a fuckin' inarticulate moron or TALK IN ALL CAPS BECUASE ITS DRAMATIC.

Jesus sake!!! Get a F$@%$#$ book on how to handle rabbits.
You get a damp cloth and take care of any sticky poo. Please read about how you can take out a bunnies natural oils from their fur. Keep their house clean and check his/her bum often and they will do the rest naturally. Bunnies have been know to die from this sort of idiotic behaviour. I just watched up until :46 and I can't watch anymore. You should be held under water for doing this. Your an idiot
@bumpthekoala I just wanted to let you know that lettuce is not a very good treat for rabbits. They can have it but there is NO nutritional value in it and so they can eat a lot and get filled up on it but not get any nutrients. Just thought I would let you know!
*ATTENTION*: now it is getting a bit stressful for people saying "don't shower your rabbit and stuff like that, well here is 3 good reasons why you can if its necessary:
1. they might have poop still stuck and he/her stinks really badly
2. it's summer and it's boiling or heatwave ( you can get a icepod for £5.00)
Yeah I don't think it is necessary to bath them. Bunnies are scared of anything, you can kill the bunny by just scarring the crap out of him and these bathes are stressing for them.
Giving a bunny a bath is unneccesary and traumatizing for the bunny!!! You can tell he doesn't like it!!! Bunnies keep themselves very clean, you don't need to bath them.
I have a pet rabbit and what i do is put her in a bowl *big enough for a rabbit* and add water. She automaticly starts cleaning her self *no licking she just scrubs her self in the water like she would do with her hands with spit. Then shes all clean.
@TheCountrygirl12343 Yes you should, low heat only of course. I have a baby bunny who I have to wash because he sits in his poop. It's winter so I would never let him run around wet. It could kill the poor thing.
youre nuts! If u want a bunny to be cooperative just give them a bath in a bucket not a shower and towel dry them dont use a hairdryer and then let them air dry
People who are bitching: Listen to LaceHearts, and consider that if a rabbit is injured, sick, too old or too overweight to clean his rear, he can get even SICKER and, as the caretaker, you would be held responsible for that. Sometimes bunnies do need baths, and this person did a perfect job. :) By the way, your bunny is BEAUTIFUL! I simply love the white breed of bunny with the black circles around the eyes. Why would you bade a bunny??? The take care of them self. The only time I have ever bade a bunny is when it was ill and couldn't clean itself properly and that was only her bum, never the hole bunny...
Seriously, wild rabbits don't ever bade and you shouldn't bade them because then you destroy their fur fat that keeps them warm!
@Lyckojazz if you're CONSTANTLY (i.e. daily/weekly) doing it, then yeah, it CAN result in declining health
but if you only bathe them like once a month, month & a half, it's not going to affect them much, especially if you towel dry them, and then keep them warm afterwards (or use a hare dryer if you have one) and reward them afterwards (like giving them a fav piece of food, kissing them on the head, etc) they wont mind further baths & you keep a fresh smelling bunny
@Lyckojazz like any other pet, too much of a good thing can be bad, but if you just wash them when they really start to smell, and then let em do their own thing once theyre warm & dry, they will still be healthy & you have the satisfaction of knowing your fuzzy bunny doesn't smell like what remains of last week's supper...
and before you go all "this pet "expert" said..." I've owned many cats, a dog & a rabbit...I KNOW how to care for them from 1st hand experience.

pls thumbs up for other people to use this information.
You really shouldn't bathe your bunny. If a bunny gets scared, they can break their own back from kicking too hard. You really should also never feed an animal through the bars of a cage. They could end up biting your fingers.
you really should never clean a rabbit. they do it themselves, much like cats, and are naturally very clean animals. it puts unneeded stress upon them, which can actually kill your animal if it is scared enough. unless it is strictly necessary, and something in your bun's fur will hurt it if ingested, it is wise to never bathe your rabbit.
rabbits dont need a bath. A lot of people keep saying they stink. It's not them that stink.. It's their cage.. When I was younger -around 10- I knew almost all about rabbits, my mom said they owned a bunch of rabbits and they were stinky, but I told her it was their cage.. Oh yeah, ADORABLE RABBIT <3 _ <3
Rabbits don't really need baths, and really hate them, but I give my rabbit a bath every now and again (once every few months) when he starts to shed.. he's usually pretty stinky by then and it helps him shed! Rabbits can't cough up their hairballs..
i used to have a rabbit. i have some videos of him. unfortunately he died he had a skin damaged after i put on some medication on his ear the doctor gave me.
Rabbits are like cats in the way that they don't need to be bathed often. They do a pretty good job at keeping themselves clean, but they do get dirty and smelly once in awhile. That's when it's okay to bathe them. I doubt she bathes her rabbit every single day. Rabbits will not die from being wet unless the water is too hot or too cold and you don't dry them off after. I'm sure there are worse things to do to a rabbit than bathe it. Don't be silly.
@trives99 the survive in the wild when it rains because they are WILD bunnies and they can dig burrows to hide in !!!! and all the bunnies without burrows get colds and die. thats why the smart ones survive its called natural selection dumbass !!! NEVER EVER give a bunny a bath. and i dont give a shit if they have bunny shampoo's either its like giving a retard a gun.. or should i say giving you a gun
is it possible to actually give them a bath !! I didn't know that !! what was that product u used ?? and is it important to use that one ?? or any soap would do ??
@blackwinterweddings you don't have to but my bunny used to get poo stuck to his butt and I would have to give him a bath every so often. but if your buuny stays clean for the most part I would give them a bath maybe once a year. especally if it's an inside bunny.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
heres a step by step guide for bathing ure bunny. 1. Heat a frying pan and add the olive oil. Add the bacon and sauté until golden and crisp. Remove the bacon to a casserole dish.
2. Add the rabbit joints to the frying pan, sauté until golden and then place in the casserole dish.
3. Lastly, add the carrots, shallots, garlic and honey to the pan and cook until caramelised. Transfer the mixture to the casserole dish, season with salt and pepper and pop in the thyme and bay leaf. and enjoy
@yovillesupport99 I bet it didn't. my bunny used to have baths all the time and he NEVER got sick. He lived to be 8 and I had to put him down because he had cancer. have you even ever cared for a rabbit before?
They say if it runs like that dont give it a bath it will brake there back.

Bunnies keep themselves clean, and bathing them can be very bad for their health.

@Lyckojazz if you're CONSTANTLY (i.e. daily/weekly) doing it, then yeah, it CAN result in declining health
but if you only bathe them like once a month, month & a half, it's not going to affect them much, especially if you towel dry them, and then keep them warm afterwards (or use a hare dryer if you have one) and reward them afterwards (like giving them a fav piece of food, kissing them on the head, etc) they wont mind further baths & you keep a fresh smelling bunny

you really should never clean a rabbit. they do it themselves, much like cats, and are naturally very clean animals. it puts unneeded stress upon them, which can actually kill your animal if it is scared enough. unless it is strictly necessary, and something in your bun's fur will hurt it if ingested, it is wise to never bathe your rabbit.

rabbits dont need a bath. A lot of people keep saying they stink. It's not them that stink.. It's their cage.. When I was younger -around 10- I knew almost all about rabbits, my mom said they owned a bunch of rabbits and they were stinky, but I told her it was their cage.. Oh yeah, ADORABLE RABBIT <3 _ <3

what type of rabbit is this?the name
Josewazheretoday 1 year ago
Rabbits don't really need baths, and really hate them, but I give my rabbit a bath every now and again (once every few months) when he starts to shed.. he's usually pretty stinky by then and it helps him shed! Rabbits can't cough up their hairballs..

I was told that your not really suppose to bath bunnies because they bathe themselves. It looked like your bunny was nice and clean after though!
blackwinterweddings 1 year ago
@blackwinterweddings you don't have to but my bunny used to get poo stuck to his butt and I would have to give him a bath every so often. but if your buuny stays clean for the most part I would give them a bath maybe once a year. especally if it's an inside bunny.

heres a step by step guide for bathing ure bunny.
Transfer the mixture to the casserole dish, season with salt and pepper and pop in the thyme and bay leaf. and enjoy
