  • Believing and having is not the same thing. Be led of the Spirit and not the dead letter.

  • Does Paul Washer believe that people can speak in tounges.

  • Baptism of the spirit and filling of the spirit is used interchangeably in acts, for example, in acts 2:4 its called the baptism but the same event is referred to as being filled not baptized in acts 1:5

  • Many reformed preachers of old and modern days believed in what we now consider "charismatic doctrine" Charles spurgeon, George whitfield, martyn Lloyd Jones, john piper, Wayne Grudem" read some of there books and it will amaze u when u see that Christian were having charismatic experiences long before the azuza street/Pentecostal movement even began. It's important to discern because unfortunately a lot of churches have perverted these manifestations and cause ppl to disregard spiritual gifts

  • In Corinthians 12 the spirit baptizes men into Christ body, but john the baptist said that Jesus will baptize with the spirit, its a difference, I used to be cessationist but I am not any longer, both charismatic and conservative evangelical can learn from each others doctrine

  • The Charismatic theology of being baptised in the holy spirit is unbiblical. They have the filling confused with baptism. You receive Christ and are baptised in the spirit...than you make a public profession of your faith by being baptised in water. That's it. None of this 'second blessing' silliness that you must seek seek seek until you get it and the babble in tongues which is actually just jibberish

  • Jesus gives the Spirit to them that love and obey Him, you don't get it from claiming scriptures. Only the Living Jesus can give you the gift of God.

The bible kills, but the spirit gives life.

  • Huh? Paul Washer doesnt even MENTION the spiritual gifts.

All Christians have the Spirit of God, and are already "in the Spirit" (ROMANS 8:9)

Even Cessationists believe in the "filling of the Spirit" for boldness and assurance and strength against sin and for sanctification.

    Pentecostalism/Charismaticism is garbage.

  • As for someone who has been Baptised in the Holy Spirit, tongues are evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, but not everyone goes on speaking in tongue as a gift.

  • @coolestmcse no he doesn't. He just doesn't believe in it to the degree many do.

  • Baptism in the Holy Spirit results in having the power over your sin... The Holy Spirit starts teaching us Gods will.... And baptism in water shows people, God, and the devil that u died to your OWN will and will live in GODS will

  • 1Co 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. He is actually talking about the overuse of tongues even in that day, read in context and you will see. Tongues were intended for understanding, for unbelievers, and to interpret foreign languages. I have recieved the Holy Ghost, yet I dont talk in tongues because they are not needed.

  • @b1foschiefs If tongues are not needed why did The Lord God give them to us?

1 Corinthians 14:2) (1 Corinthians 14:14-18) (Romans 8:26) (Ephesians 6:18,Jude 17-20 The Bible says that when the Apostles were filled with the Holy Ghost they began to Speak with other tongues (Acts 2:4).

Just like every believer that was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38)(Acts 19:5,6)(Acts 10:46).

What evidence do you have that you have received the Holy Ghost then?

  • @MrGhettown Rom 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:, Also have you ever read the first epistle of John? The epistle was written so that you may "know" that you have eternal life. Even in those days, tongues were a sign for unbelievers, not believers. Paul never stated that ALL men would speak tongues, but it was a spirtiual gift just as some prophesied and others did not. He gave them as evidence to unbelievers in the early church.

  • @MrGhettown Just like every believer that was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38)(Acts 19:5,6)(Acts 10:46). Not all of these scriptures mention tongues, but receiving the Holy Spirit. Name one scripture that gives tongues as an evidence to a believer? Corinth was port city, with people of different origin would be in that church. Tongues were so people would understand, do you speak tongues in a real language? Because that was the intent.

  • @MrGhettown For understanding-1Co 14:14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. Interpret foreign languages-1Co 14:28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. For unbelievers-1Co 14:21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

  • John MacArthur and others deny the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

  • I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit in preaching, praying, living holy, and it is most certainly necessary in regenerating sinners. But if you are suggesting tongues than you have missed their meaning entirely.

1Co 13:8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away,

1Co 13:13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

It's clear only 3 remain, because 3 are needed

  • @b1foschiefs All of the Gifts of the Spirit are still relevant today. (1 Corinthians 1:5)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.(Hebrews 13:8)

And these signs will follow the believers: (Mark 16:15)

the scriptures says that they will cease when the perfect comes,Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Corinthians 13:8).

Spiritual Gifts have not ceased. If you have not received the Holy Ghost,Pray and ask God to give it to you (Luke 11:11).(Acts 10:44,Acts 19:2)(Acts 2:38) God Bless you.

  • @MrGhettown Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.(Hebrews 13:8) So I should still be offering sacrifices? That is bad reasoning. 1Co 1:5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; He hadnt even started talking about spiritual gifts yet, this is out of context.

Mar 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. What does preaching have to do with it?(cont)

  • @b1foschiefs and these signs should follow those who believe.(Mark 16:17).

Sacrifices of animals had to do with the Law,Christ Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, for the bible says that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins (Hebrews 9:24). (Hebrews 9:28) (Hebrews 10:1,17).

Your question had to do with spiritual gifts and tongues is one of the gifts of the Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12)(1 Corinthians 14) (acts 2:4).

  • @MrGhettown I know what sacrifices were for, that was my point. You stated Heb 13:8 in defense of tongues, I stated with that logic than sacrifices would be relevant today. Heb 13:8 cant be used in defense of tongues. Are you stating that every believer should possess all gifts of the Spirit. Everyone should preach, sing, prophesy, heal, speak in tongues etc....hmmm so what are the member of the body for. Is the eye useful for hearing, and the ear useful for seeing...read the book my friend.

  • @MrGhettown Not every believer has every gift, but God gives to each one according to his will.(Romans 12:5-8) (1 Corinthians 12:7-11)Exactly, so why do you say I must talk in tongues? And what benefit are they without an interpreter? And what benefit are they if they are not in a real language, with real language structure? And what benefit are they in a house full of english speaking believers? These are questions Paul would ask you, and the questions you must answer for yourself.

  • @b1foschiefs In (Romans 8:26),(Jude 20),(1 Corinthians 14:2,1 Corinthians 14:14) you will find the answer to your question of why we pray in tongues. When we pray/speak in tongues our Spirit prays and we are build up in faith.

When Paul talks about tongues without interpreting he clearly states that he is referring to addressing the congregation without an interpreter, that it doesn't prophet the hearer (1 Corinthians 14:5,1 Corinthians 14:6-16),(1 Corinthians 14:27-28).(1 Corinthians 14:39)

  • @MrGhettown Tongues are not mentioned in Romans. You are forcing your beliefs on scripture that was God breathed, be careful doing so. Any effectual prayer is prayed in the Spirit, Jesus prayed in the Spirit without tongues. Once again you prove my point, tongues are fruitless if not understood.I dont understand your point here because I have proven beyond a doubt the reasoning of tongues. So you still must apply it to the present time.(cont)

  • @b1foschiefs An interpreter cannot interpret a strange sound, he can interpret languages. If one person speaks in an language without structure, how can another interpret? And what would be the benefit of these tongues and interpretations? The apostles were speaking and interpreting REAL languages of the time in order for unbelievers to hear the gospel, you still have yet to prove otherwise. The 14th chapter that you cited proves what I am saying, because some were speaking tongues uselessly.

  • @b1foschiefs It don't matter what my point is or what your point is what matters is what the word of God says, you are just caught up in your own understanding and arguing. If you truly desire to know and to Understand Ask the Lord to show you and to give you the revelation.I can't force you to believe or convince you.

  • @MrGhettown You cant post links on here, so I cant see your video. However, I will say and have said that I do have the Spirit, I have been regenerated and have communion with God by His Spirit. I already cited Romans 8:16, and pointed to the epistle of John for evidence. Among other scripture which guides me, and tells me to examine myself to see if I am in the faith, but never says, "see to it that I speak tongues to see that I am in the faith." 2 Cor 13:5- Read this!

  • if you had the Spirit indeed you would have had the experience and the evidence that comes when receiving it and you wouldn't be arguing, the Holy Ghost comes with evidence. It's just not just saying "I have the Spirit" and you have no evidence that you have it.You might as well been baptized in water and yes there is a change of regeneration ,but it doesn't mean that you have the Holy Ghost in you.Ask God to show you,and don't let people cheat you of your price.(Acts 8:15-17).

  • @MrGhettown When did I ever say that I have no evidence. I have clearly stated that I do. I have proven that tongues is not the evidence, and you have too yet you dont see it. You also stated that there were differing gifts for each person, yet you say tongues is necessary. Paul says love is necessary, not tongues. I was born again when I was 10 years old, tongues didn't tell me but the Spirit of God told me. After 23 years I have happily concluded that if I dont have it, I never will. (cont)

  • @b1foschiefs I dont need to speak gibberish to know it, I have the presence of God, the witness of the Spirit, I am being conformed into the image of His Son. The old things have passed and behold all things are new, namely that Christ lives in me. The old man has been crucified with Him, and now he lives in me! How presumptious and offensive it is to be told otherwise, especially with the reasoning that I dont speak an unknown language!

  • @b1foschiefs You are mistaking the Gift of Tongues (Corinthians) with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts) The experience is the same for every believer. The bible says that "they were (all) filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). It did not say that they had received the gift of tongues, but they began to speak in tongues as a sign that they had received the Holy Ghost.

  • @MrGhettown I also should say, that I dont need your video to know what you believe, I am well familiar. The problem is that you fail to see where I am coming from, you have yet to tell me what benefit tongues are? There is no proof that if I have the Spirit I will also have tongues, you cannot prove that with scripture. I am well familiar with the word, you are not going to "open my eyes" to see something I was ignorant of. You use tongues as some did circumcision, to put others in chains.

  • @b1foschiefs I have shown you many scriptures that clarify your questions, but you seem to fail to understand the scriptures.God Bless you in Jesus name,I am not trying to argue with you.

  • @b1foschiefs I have faith but I don't have the gift of faith.I speak in tongues, but I don't have the Gift of Tongues. The experience of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the same with every believer,we don't pick and choose how we are going to experience it,God decides. When you are baptized in water does not mean that you automatically have the Holy Ghost ,here are a few examples (Acts 8:14-17),(Acts 19:2-7)

    ht-t-p:-/-/w-w-w.youtube.com/watch?v=zNJY9mMFuCI&feature=related

  • @MrGhettown Who said anything about the baptism of water? It is clear that you are so engrained in your tradition that you have no idea what others believe. Do you really think that I dont believe in receiving the Spirit before baptism? Do you know that the movement that you are a part of began in the early 20th century? Can you find, other than the time immediately after pentecost, that the church has spoke in tongues? That is because tongues were to cease. (cont)

  • @MrGhettown So what you are saying is that all speak in tongues, that is an unbiblical statement, and it contradicts other scripture that you have cited. Only those who were baptised in the Spirit spoke in tongues, the baptism and the indwelling of the Spirit are two seperate things. Tell me, when you speak tongues, is it as though fire were in your mouth? Act 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

  • @b1foschiefs How are the baptism and the indwelling of the Spirit different my friend? Have you considered the Greek language? Any "version" of the Bible is not 100% accurate.

  • @MrGhettown The tongues movement started in the 1930s. Its false. What paul washer is talking is the true power of God that you cant feel or since but its their and it convicts. It dosent make men fall and flop arround. Notice washer said men fell to their face crying

  • @b1foschiefs Watch this video it could help you understand better.

  • I just had to be number 6,666 on this ><

  • This was awesome. Thanks for posting.

  • any way we are all brothers...Baptists,pentecostals,evangelics...i only can not understand why we have allways, see the bible under the ''prisma'' of a dogmatic standar...

why dont we open a bible ,making a pray and ask from God to lead us in the whole truth.??

I did it,i am an elder at the ''free apostolic church of pentecost'' (Greece)but i like mr washer.

I'm not here to show my belieaves, but I'm allways ready to follow only the truth..!!!!

  • I have videos I did on my page explaining 1 Cor 12-14, check them out.

  • every christian believes in baptism of the holy spirit. The question is whether (post pentecost ofcourse) baptism is at regeneration or subsequent to it. Biblically it is at regeneration. 1 Cor 12:13. ALL were baptized. Also you see at the end of ch 12 that NOT all speak in tongues. thus the pentecostal view os baptism in holy spirit/tongues is junk.

  • @NoLongerGodDamned Paul said Not all speak in tongues in reference to verse 1 which was spiritual gifts which is what chpts 12-14 speak on. Be mindful that Paul wrote the letter to ppl who had the HG baptism with evidence of tongues & operated in all 9 Gifts. I constantly see ppl who never spoke in Tongues TRY to interpret this, as Smith Wigglesworth said "THEY CAN'T". JESUS & others confirmed this evidence & 1 Cor was written more than 20yrs after Pentecost. Tongues is the only evidence.

  • I believe this Paul W. message is the answer for those emergent/emerging church or the post modern mindset christians

  • Amen, Bro Washer! Just as modern Christianity has easy sinner's prayers, even so it has easy Spirit-fillings. Neither is the truth. It takes waiting before God in earnest seeking, to have heaven opened to you.

  • @daffodyllady Where does it say in the bible to go in the wilderness to get Holy Ghost filled? My bible says he gives to those who ask for Him Lk 11:13. No one that was filled in Acts went anywhere, they prayed and he fell on them or they laid hands and received. Even Jesus received BEFORE He went in the wilderness.

  • @pastorblove Did I say anything about the wilderness? Sure, God gives the Holy Ghost to those who "ask and keep on asking" (study the Greek word.) A person receives as he is ready and able. To get ready and able sometimes takes fasting and time in prayer. "No man having drunk the old wine, straightway desireth the new."

  • Mr. Washer is not speaking of the baptisim of the spirit like the charismatic movement understands it.

  • Does anyone know where I can get this sermon?

  • (Acts 10:44 KJV) "While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word."

(Acts 10:45 KJV) "And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost."

(Acts 10:46 KJV) "For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,"

  • Of course he does he's BAPTIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Some great stuff said here, I thought on similar things this very morning, amen amen!

  • God bless you Paul for being honest

  • i love the ministry of benny hin. i believe God uses him mightly as he uses paul washer.

  • @calledforhiswill

I also used to think that Benny Hinn was a man of God, but now I'm not so sure.

His money-hungry lifestyle just isn't Christ-like at all. Private jets and everything. And that's not all. He said once that Jesus would appear on the stage in a body, but He never did.

That makes Benny Hinn a false prophet. A true man of God wouldn't demand money for healing either.

There are sources, just Google them up...

  • @GodIsGoodIAmNot

you are right. you know paul washer is poor? he has two children and a wife and pastors a church and his organization heartcry brings in millions and millions of dollars. in fact it brought in a million dollars just in the last two days before the new year last year. and yet he is poor. i have spoken to him at length. he takes only money for speaking at conferences. nothing else. he drives a terrible crappy car and he is sickly. he is weak.

  • @gdoggydog05

It's great that PW isn't after money. God bless HeartCry for handling the money right way.

  • I like this teaching a lot but I dont like the fact that he talks junk about people like Benny Hinn. I feel it takes away from his overall message.

  • @gnudude161 well, two people on opposite ivewpoints cant be right at the same time. either paul washer is right, or benny hinn is. I for one have my own views of who is who, but regardless, I was just pointing that out. . .

  • @atgblue1 Yea I get that to a certain extent, but I just felt it was necessary, especially to say what someone else experiences with God is not as genuine as your experiences. Thats all I was really trying to say.

  • I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." Matt. 3:11 John answered them all, saying, I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire." Luke 3:16

  • Washer actually speaks against what most people these days call 'baptism of the holy spirit'. e.g. the Benny Himm and television hoaxes.

  • Comment removed

  • Never heard baptism of the holy spirit. there is a difference between being FILLED with the holy spirit and being "baptized by the holy spirit".

  • @cncskanky yes. You start getting filled with the Spirit when you accept Christ. And its a continuous act. The Bible says :"Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit"5:18 We are continuously drinking of the Spirit, everyday, through reading the Bible prayer, and worship. Baptism of the Holy Spirit happens once in life....continue

  • @LadyD1979 We are sealed with the Holy Ghost at new birth but not filled Eph 4:30. The infilling is a separate experience.

  • @cncskanky Baptism of the Holy Spirit, is once in life, and is marked by the speaking in tongues. It can be an unknown earthly language or angel language. Its not unusual to receave other gifts during the baptism such as: prophecy, singing in tongues, etc. Gifts can be added by the Spirit later as he sees fit. They are all with the intent to build up the church.

  • @cncskanky Acts 2:38 says what u need to do in orther to receave the BAptism of the Holy Spirit: "Peter replied, Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." So first repent, be baptized in water, and then you will receave the baptism of the Spirit. Jesus will baptize you with the Holy Spirit :)

  • @cncskanky

i'd like to mension that the original text ,says baptise IN holy spirit..if that helps.

  • @1TRUTH2U by, in, of usually implies the same thing...

  • What sermon is this from?

  • @re033784 can't remember, after he preached a bunch of people asked a bunch of questions, one of them was a brother concerned with the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the church... this was paul's response to that

  • i wish you ALL spoke with tongues...1rst cor.14:5...

please mention that the Greek text says:''i WANT you all spoke with tongs'',

it is a demand,an order not just a wish.!!

I have reseived the holy spirit,i do speak with tongues, but here in Greece,we dont do it in public, like i have seen in some videos from U.S.

We follow the 14 chapter:28, of cor. and we speak to ourselves and to God...

May God bless all of you.!

  • @1TRUTH2U well paul teaches, that some recieve gifts of tongues, some gifts of healing ect.. Not every believer recieves every gift of the spirit, but all true born again christians recieve the spirit.

  • @1TRUTH2U when i say paul im speaking of the apostle not paul washer

  • If you think this is bad then you are practically cherry-picking biblical teachings that tickle your fancy or ones that make you look normal in the eyes of the world.

  • @911TruthSeeker91 exactly, scripture will never be revoked, nor can God ever change

  • There are some things that CANNOT be faked! - Paul Washer

Pray for the POWER of GOD to be on your lives!
