error 13...what happens is that I follow the tutorial exactly, and it fixes up the firmware for restoring or whatever, the one that takes a long time (the first thing it does). I can always do that one. but right after it finishes with that, it says that it is preparing my iPod for restoring, and it does that for maybe a minute, my iPod gets the apple icon it like it is about to restore, but then the little box pops up saying error 13 and everything stops

dont download the program if u delette it it will put a virus on ur computer callled xppolice antivirus and it takes a while to get rid of

I couldn't do it this easy on my friends mac, and I can use the new firmware 2.2.1!!!

Just wondering, do I just restore the original iPod firmware to un-jailbreak it, and make it so I can turn it on and off without the computer?

It should be doing it correctly. Make sure you're pressing both completely down at the same time (even holding it for 10 seconds might be good) and then if that doesn't work, make sure your iTunes version is up to date.

2.2.1. If you get an error. Find the 2.2.1 firmware on the internet somewhere and then press shift + restore in itunes and find the firmware file.

UGH, whenever I try to put it in DFU mode exactly like you tell me (wait till it shuts completely down by using home+power then quickly release power and keep holding home) it just goes to the apple logo and then shows a little screen with a picture of the USB cord and an itunes logo! What do I do!?

You do NOT wait until it shuts off. You count to 10 using the method of "one onethousand two onethousand." Even if you have to count out loud. And then you hold the home button for 8 seconds. Using the sounds on your computer is the easiest way though.

oh and also for a 248 MB or w/e file dont use Send Scape that really makes me mad its capped at 50 kb/s and its starting to make me angry because im use to downloading at 2 mb/s

You put it in the SAME FOLDER as it. So the attached files, you extract and you save the ipsw file inside of the folder with the exe in it. NOT inside the exe. I don't even know how to do that lol.

No ideas. If this happens just start from the top on the jailbreak. If you don't follow every step exactly correct than the jailbreak won't work.

Hold down both the home button and the power button until your computer either recognizes it, or says it's malfunctioned.

If it recognizes it, great! If it says it's malfunctioned, put it in DFU mode and simply restore back to the default firmware.

When i installed that first thing you told me to install libusb file. All my devices which were plugged in didnt respond. Everything was f*** up. I system restored. The white screen won't come up. Please help. My ipod wont work! I know i can system restore it. I'll do that as a last resort. But i wan't to jailbreak my ipod. I'm using vista. Does that program meant to stop your usb devices? No. Installer is currently not available on the iPod Touch 2G jailbreak UNLESS you would like to manually jailbreak your iPod Touch. Doing this requires you to type in 500 commands (i am exaggerating but it's alot) instead of pressing buttons using the GUI. Cydia is better than installer anyway so you'll live for the month or so without it. ;-)

Please follow the exact steps in the GUI and instructions in the GUI. If you did everything correct, you will not get any errors. If you get the runtime error on step 6, that is normal and the part two video tells you what to do to get around it.

Dev Team said for the iPhone and iPod Touch 1G people not to upgrade because it could damage the possibility of ever jailbreaking again. If you watched the video correctly, you saw it said that you can upgrade the iPod Touch 2G because it didn't affect the jailbreak in anyway.

Yup, the iPhone Dev Team released the tethered jailbreak. But keep in mind that it's tethered. Read the bottom of the description to see what tethered means.
