  • Tyson used torque in his legs for punching power, lennox lewis was a natural big man...Joe Louis I believe had that natural power that was freakish...My dad seen him fight live, he sat five rows back and could hear the punches and explained to like the punches sounded like a gun going off.. and his opponent would wince in pain! Joe Louis was in my mind the best puncher that ever lived!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOE! Rest Peacefully.

  • I love this!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Joe Louis! He was a great a fighter he's one of my idols!

  • mike tyson wouldnt make a pimple on Joe Louises ass!

  • He was a credit to his race.... the human race.

  • Best champion ever. In the ring and out.

  • I think Joe Louisis the greatest boxer there ever was. He deserved those statues.

  • As much as I like Ali, Louis would KO him. Too many mistakes in his style and Louis was the perfect fighter. Stronger and faster puncher, better and more accurate combinations and a smarter and mre complete fighter overall. 12 years as champion with 25 defenses. Greatest in History.

  • @CassiusAli67 ali did have an awesome chin given who he fought kinda amazing he didnt go down ever

  • @haris000000 Ali was knocked down by Sonny Banks got back up to KO him, by Henry Cooper got back up to stop him on cuts, floored by Joe Frazier 15th round first fight, lost decision, Chuck Wepner scored a knockdown but looked like Wepner stepped on Ali's foot, Ali KO Wepner 15 rd. When Ali was way past his prime Larry Holmes stopped Ali TKO 10 but Ali didn't hit the canvas.

  • @fightfan1961 yeah I know by going down i meant a knockout :) not a knockdown

  • Greatest fighter in history. Unbeatable in his prime.

  • i still cant get this song out my head

  • RIP Joe. You'll always be a fighting legend

  • 5 stars

  • can't blame the Army it was the government that hounded him for taxes.

  • @fightfan1961 it was the Army that put him in a segregated unit and told him he was on 1/4 human wasn't it?

  • @vorjay Joe Louis overcame and did not play the victim like a too many people do today. Blaming anyone or anything for a situation does not help. Real fighters rise above their situation.

  • @fightfan1961 Oh...so I guess he enjoyed it.

  • @vorjay no one enjoys injustice and suffering it is the fighter who overcomes and will not be held down by it. People who play the blame game will never rise above they will stay in the muck and say poor me look what they done to me, they will not stand and fight for what is right! Louis stood tall and fought for what is right and for it he is a hero.

  • fuk the us army for betrayin this great man

  • FUCK UM FUCK UM FUCK UM!

  • Does anyone know who took the photo that appears at about 2:45? Where it is from and if it is possible to get a copy of it?

    Thanks.

  • Thanks for posting this song..Great song for the best heavyweight of all time!!

  • When Joe Louis asked Lena Horne, with whom he was then having a relationship, to keep score for him at a Hollywood golf benefit, the singer refused -- she was entertaining troops that day. Joe hit her with a left hook. Then he started to choke her. In his 1978 autobiography, written with Edna and Art Rust Jr., Louis said that the only thing that saved Lena's life was an aunt in the next room who threatened to call the police

  • pictures?? dont u have footage?

  • someone has King Joe - Paul Robeson? I WANT IT

  • Joe Louis, One of the greatest athletes of all time.

  • Brilliant.

  • great vid.

  • The most dominant and greatest heavyweight champion ever.

  • @YogiBear13 he was good but a lot of other hall of famers would have put him away. the caliber of fighters he fought wern't all that great.

  • @sk8forlife90

Baer, Schmelling, and Walcott were world class. Conn was smaller but a great fighter. You can only fight what is around at the time and he dominated them all. He would have had trouble with Tyson, Lewis and maybe Liston but would have mopped up Frazier, Holyfield, Dempsey, Johnson, Patterson, and Foreman. Ali and Holmes would have been classics.

  • @YogiBear13 back then they were good, but today fighters are in such better shape, speed, strength, everything. louis just simply couldn't compete today with the caliber fighters they have today and that they had in the last 60 years.

  • @sk8forlife90

Please heavyweights today are a complete joke. The only ones that would give him some problems are the Klit brothers and that is based on size alone they were certainly not more skilled. That size alone would not have helped Wlad anyways a Louis right hand would put him out before round 7. Vitali would be a bigger challenge because he is a gritter fighter but Louis would outbox him if he could get inside enough.

  • @YogiBear13 yeah but their are just so many more heavyweights in history that are faster more skilled fighters. and the lighter weight fighters are much faster and more skilled then the fighters back then to.

  • Please, Todays fighters would pass out if they had to go 15 rds. The avg. boxer today did not have the stamina that fighters of yesterday had. Also the punch per round average was much higher back then over 15 rd. I've watched oldschool fights were 70 to 100 blows are thrown. Also back then the gloves where thinner and the fighters had to take harder blows. Joe Louis had the power and technique to lay out men much larger than himself. What 200 pound fighter today can lay out a 265 lb. boxer.

  • @JcLeopard lol, a lot of fighters can lay out guys a lot heavier than them. and of course the fighters would have a higher average if they had a lot more rounds. but today the fighters fight at a much faster and intense pace. that's why they look more ripped because they are much better conditioned.

  • @sk8forlife90 You really don't no what your talking about do you. I've watched rounds of Joe Louis fights where he threw 80 punches, I counted them. I've seen rounds of Sugar Ray Robinsons fights where he has thrown over 100 punches and landed more than half. Don't even get me started on the great Henry Armstrong when you talk about intensity. Nowadays a fighter who throws 60 a rd its considered a fast pace. When the avg. boxer today can go 15 rds then you can talk to me about condition.

  • @JcLeopard an out of shape person can fight 15 rounds at a moderate pace, but it takes a well trained person to fight at a fast pace.

  • Lmao, Thats exactly what I'm telling you. Fighters back then fought at a faster pace whether you choose to believe it or not. How many fighters to do throw 70 to 100 punches a round because that was normal back then. Especially in the lighter weight divisions. You can count the good fighters on one hand who fight at that pace today and no and out of shape person could not fight 15 rounds at a moderate pace. The avg. person couldn't go 3 rounds.

  • Great song. There is a CD available that is a collection of songs about Joe Louis. I think you can find it on Amazon.

  • What's it called??

  • It's called, "Joe Louis: An American Hero". It is available on Amazon.

  • I cant stop listening to this lol

  • love the song........love the fighter......love the video!
