I'm a former Air Force defensive avionics technician on the B-1 and will always have a soft spot in my heart for it. I was able to go on an incentive ride in a KC-135 and see an in air refueling of the bone, awesome!!!
B-1 is most stylish and cool shape at all of the bombers. Causet this air plaine has extreme spec but no need special difficultic skills for flight skill. B-2 is special, but, very harder to be pilots. The milittary best materials is users for "Simple and Easy with tough" always.
It's called a weapons test, they take some of the stock from time to time and test them to see if the stockpile is good and still working. The bombs dont have guidance systems fitted so they're relatively cheap. Also like any machine, the B1 and its bomb delivery system needs to be used every now and then to maintain long life and to test for problems.
I love the B1B, prolly cuz my dad helped build every single one of em... and I can still remember cruising the assembly line in a tour when i was a kid. You did a good job with the compilation and the song is a nice choice as well. Too bad they never seem to use the external hardpoints on the bone.
LOVE them B-1's!! What an awesome aircraft. They simply HAVE to be capable of WAY more than advertised, as the old Convair B-58 Hustler still holds speed records the B-1 hasn't broken (officially).
I love going to rister park by dyess and watching them take off full afterburn at night!
