  • looks like your at a rest stop on the highway

  • That's cool.mine has a 12:1 compression.do you think a munsie transmission will hold be able to take it?

  • looks like the posi pig is slippin a little

  • nice clean car. enjoy!

  • BADASSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hehe one-tire fire! Still, a very nice car! My grandpa has a Cortez Silver 1970 (split-bumper) Z/28! There is no substitute for that little LT-1.. Crazy little engine. It has 45,XXX original miles. It's in almost to-goo-to-be-true shape for it's age.. He takes it to survivor shows more frequently since he retired last year.

  • mine looks exactly like that! ill take a video this summer for you 74 cammros are badass and rare

  • nice car

  • @Daniyoyo "I don't care what nobody say" so... you DO care what everybody says? double negative fail

  • I think its safe to say that with a ratio of 8:1 (thumbs up to thumbs down.) Out of 8 normal individuals there is 1 dyslexic twat who confused the thumbs down button for the thumbs up button. poor bastards I pushed the thumbs up button for you.

    Your welcome.

  • Why the hell would you want Japanese or European when you can get a beast like that. Simply sick.................

  • If you use high compression pistons & thicker head gaskets you defeating the purpose.

  • The paint job is fucking awsome.

  • thats one of the sickest camaros ive ever seen

  • There is no better sound on the planet.

  • Badass

  • the 9 people tht dislike own hondas lol

  • im gettin this for my first car i think, if i get the money in time..... wish me luck!!!!!!

  • @k3ith2x23 i would hate to see some stupid kid with this for his first car cuz when you crash it and kill yourself in it god will kick your ass.

  • @MetalRulesRapSux well that was ignorant, ive been around classic cars all my life, and im guna get it and stroke the 350 its got and throw in a 4 or 5 speed stick tranny and u cant do shit about it lmao

  • @k3ith2x23 and make sure you can even drive a stick before you put one in there cuz it wouldnt be cool to build a car and not be able to drive it.

  • @MetalRulesRapSux i do know how to, its really simple to drive clutch bro, any one can do it

  • @k3ith2x23 just makin sure haha

  • how do you race someone sie by side on the street? i mean with that fishtail you will hit his ass lol

  • HOLY SHIT! love the color! one of the most beautiful cars ive ever seen!

  • hardnor you could also change the the heads to a lower cc combution chamber that would also change the compresion ratio it would be a higher one

  • hardnor you could also change the the heads to a lower cc combution chamber that would also change the compresion ratio

  • Wow..

and the color is damn pretty 2 !

  • my friends giving away a free 89 camaro so call this number 1-631-707-3329

  • damn that is one nice looking camaro

  • is that a peg legger?

  • love the sound!!!

  • I have those same rims (minus center caps and trim rings) on my '72 Cutlass Supreme.

    Sweet ride!

  • @hardtackjack z28 wheels baby

  • @gdcod3player Haha sexy wheels, right?

They don't look too bad on a Cutlass. =P

  • what color is that. it looks nice and clean

  • I want it!!

  • That is a gorgeous effing car!!!

  • sweet ride!

  • very nice car lol ill trade ya

  • you need better back tires

  • sound cool!

  • High compresion ? Sounds about 8.5 : 1

  • @bizerk00 what about deck clearace, head gasket thickness and cylinder bore size. You must drive a Honda

  • lol i bet he does xD rice xD

  • the first gen camaro enginges had high compression and higher rpm too - i red about it, that the second gen camaros had the same engines but lower compression and lower rpm - so is it possible to ajust those values to reach the power of the 1st gen engines, without expensive changing too many engine parts? - sorry if my question ist stupid, iam a engine noob :-) - just courious about it

  • the ONLY way to change the compression is to put heads on with smaller cc or different pistons or connecting rod

  • @Bizerk00 ok, i see - thank you, sounds not that cheap ^^

  • @Bizerk00 Every heard of milling dumbass.?

  • @hardnor only way to raisie the values of compresson would be you need to change out your pistons to a higer comppression piston and add a thicker head gasket...

  • Comment removed

  • @chicagopd50 or thinner head gasket, or shave the cylinder heads or smaller cc heads or new crank.

  • @chicagopd50 wrong, higher compression is not only achieved through pistons, but the deck being milled, heads being milled, thinner head gasket, and smaller chamber heads any and all will raise compression

  • @CraneCamsRacing Thank You Crane..Thats one person posting so far that knows,The rest of you: you been schooled. Its 3:15 Dismissed

  • @chicagopd50 you mean thinner head gaskets....?????????? Just build a 1970 LT 1. their 11:1

  • @chicagopd50

i dont have any experience in usa V8 engines but i think skimming the heads might be an option?

  • @chicagopd50 No, not a thicker head gasket, you need a thinner head gasket. Less room in the combustion chamber = more compression. And some flat top pistons or dome style pistons would work good.

  • @chicagopd50 Surely the thicker gasket would decrease compression?

  • @GingerPhilG you are correct

  • @GingerPhilG maybe he meant thinner lol

  • @GingerPhilG but ensure's proper piston to valve clearence, considering most higher compression pistons are of a dome design....of course though, everything is relative.

  • @chicagopd50 or get different heads or mill the block and or heads.

  • @chicagopd50

or decking the block or shaving the heads or thinner head gasket

  • @chicagopd50

    And that is safe ?

Or do you have the risk that your engine won't be able to handle that pressure ?

  • @chicagopd50 if you could find a set of heads with smaller C- chambers, that would also help

  • @chicagopd50 you sir are wrong there are many ways to go about heightening compression dome pistons (sometimes referred to as pop ups), THINNER head gaskets, milling your block, milling your heads, and smaller combustion chamber heads. adding a thicker head gasket increases the distance from the top of the piston to the top of the head yielding LESS compression not more.

  • @chicagopd50 to raise comp.you can A-higher comp pistonsB-smaller cc combustoin chamber heads,c-combonation of both.head gasket does .1 or .2 thats it but its a thinner head gasket.

  • @chicagopd50 Pistons are part of it but the big loss in power came from the different heads they used after 73 when they instated federal emissions regulations... i... may have done a thesis paper for college on second gen camaros ^ ^ love my 78'

  • @chicagopd50 wouldn't you put a thinner head gasket in to improve compression? If a smaller head gasket thickness was used, then the combustion chamber would be smaller, which means more compression. And you can also change out the cylinder heads also and that will give it more compression also because of the size of the combustion chamber.

  • @chicagopd50 that is not the only way. you could have your heads "shaved"or "Milled" which will lower the combustion chamber cc size there for increasing compression. or go to a smaller cc head. Adding a Thicker gasket will push the head away from the piston lowering your compression. My advice: if your looking to build your own engine. Do the research and learn as much as you can before you attempt it. otherwise send it to a professional. just my 2 cents

  • You got iron heads on that thing?

  • @chicagopd50 higher compression pistons...mill the head...thinner head gasket..

  • @chicagopd50 you mean a thinner head gasket...

  • @chicagopd50 a thicker head gasket would technically lower the compression...

  • @hardnor without expensive changing too many engine parts?

not really...you get what you pay for.

  • Comment removed

  • @hardnor the valves have nothing 2do with compression..if u want 2 raise the comp ratio 4 cheap.. just have your heads shaved down 2 make the combustion chambers smaller.smaller combustion chamber heads make higher compression..domed pistons also raise compression.. but then u have 2 tear down the bottom end....peace.

  • @hardnor mill the head and deck the block and use flat top pistons..

  • @hardnor compression is the piston design and the combustion chamber size.the two determine your compression ratio

  • @hardnor or change to smaller heads, that will bring the compression up also, and it helps to change the pistons.

  • @hardnor early 302 small block engines had high RPM powerband while later 350 small block was more a torque-ish engine, meant for lower RPMs. Great engines in all cases. And since this was OEM equipment, you have to think that early camaros didn't have trouble about controlling exhaust emissions, while 2nd gen saw oil crisis and C.A.R.B. emission control......

  • @hardnor I believe that first generations had a 10.25:1 compression ratio... the Lt engine was 11:1. But you are correct, they did decline those engines from year 1970. I bet you could mod the exact engine with new heads in order to achieve higher compression. Im a pontiac boy, pontiacs only came with one engine block, regardless of size. All a pontiac guy had to do to change compression is change the heads. So all you have to do is put higher compression small block heads correct to engine size

  • @hardnor You may also want to look into different heads for your car also, i just put 305 vortec heads and changed over to forged flathead pistons.

  • @hardnor that is not the only way. you could have your heads "shaved"or "Milled" which will lower the combustion chamber cc size there for increasing compression. or go to a smaller cc head. Adding a Thicker gasket will push the head away from the piston lowering your compression. My advice: if your looking to build your own engine. Do the research and learn as much as you can before you attempt it. otherwise send it to a professional. just my 2 cents

  • Nasty car none the less!

  • @hardnor The 454's ,455's,350's 400's that made it in to the 70's were like 9:1 compression as opposed to the 11:1, 12:1, 13:1 's 60's ...way different ! some people with these bblk's & 5.7 low comp. motors act like the big cubes mean something.. it's nothing to brag about at all ...it's like a really a pathetic version of what once was.Only good thing is you can put those low comp pigs back to high Horse low torque gas spittin monsters they SB... pretty easily.

  • @tjfreak Sometimes more cubes doesn't mean worse gas mileage, look at the 6.1 challenger and the 6.4 challenger, the 392 gets better mileage...

  • @hardnor even more then just a head gasket. you really need new heads. unfortunately chevy's werent the only cars to lose compression. just about every car after 1971 had to follow epa standards and basically every year was a systematic castration of both cars and people resulting in the scion driving hippie yupsters you see today. but thank god the wheatgrass in rhodesia is protected. look what happened to mopar.

  • clean car brother

  • track times?

  • 12.21 @ 1/4 going at 114 mph all motor, didnt use the nitrous, i recently instlled the nitrous over the winter, i gotta see what that does when it get warmer..

  • dope

  • setup for 1/4 mile race, its a 456 rear end with a full spool and c clip eliminators.

  • how much?@chicagopd50

  • 18k and i will let it go, it also had a new nitrous system hooked up , but never used it yet.

  • must be a bitch on the street

  • SWEET.

  • Nice ride ... Sounfs great.,..bunker hill ... do you remember ULOST? I rebuilt it with a blower.

  • damn that things beautiful. i trade u my 78 f150 anyday man!

  • dam that things fast

  • verry nice car.i wonder if you sold this car to Sweden? Because a bought a camaro z28, that looks like this car.

  • Is this around chicago?

  • yes it is , its at bunker hill

  • In Venezuelan SS Is: Super Salvaje.. Salvaje=Wild..

  • i love that color!gorgeous!

idk which wheels you have now but these looks much better!

  • What is the yellow thing we see behind the left rear wheel at the beginning ?

  • those are traction bars look like summit bars

  • Traction bars. Keeps the axle from wrapping the leaf springs up from the torque.

  • its a traction bar , it prevents wheel hop and lets you hook up better

  • thats a fucking sick car man CAN I HAVE IT i love Camaros mostly love Chevelle SS and Camaro SS:) My Dads got a 1970 Caprice:P

  • SS is just super stock, dosent change looks. cheapier just to buy a regualr Chevelle and make a clone SS and pump it a hella lot more!

  • SS = Super Sport.

  • oh my bad, not use to SS and RS and stuff like that just normally 440 and HEMI.

  • Haha no worries man, I've got some Mopar in me too.

    1st dream car: '70 Challenger 440 R/T

    2nd dream car: '70 Roadrunner 383 Magnum

  • oh nice! see i got into only that cause thats all my dad collected! and out of everything he never bought a cuda, challanger, or roadrunner!!!! but i like the 67-69 chevelles and the 67 el caminos!

  • Yeah I really just love anything that was made by Mopar, Chevy, and Pontiac from the early 60's through the mid to late 70's.

  • oh i know! seems everything those companies made were good!!! i cannot think of a car that isnt atleast good looking!

  • true. We pretty much dominated the Muscle car era in the mid 60s to early 70s.

  • im mainly into imports but id drive this camaro anyday... love the classic muscle sound, reminds me of my uncles 69 firebird 400 we use to roll in

  • hey man... i have a 88 tbird and i want to paint it eather that color or a rare blue jaja a color that is not seen every day.. so i would like to know the code.. laters nice car by the way

  • nice car

  • what engine mods. cam specs. and heads?

  • shit load of torque

  • WUT IS THAT COLOR

  • its a cahyanne red, i think its a gm color if your really need it i can email you the paint code.

  • i would like to know the code!!!!

    its a nice color!!

  • Sweet car! Sounds like she's a runner. Congratulations on your hard work.

  • thanx took alot of money and sweat... i recently painted its got white stripes now..

  • Shit im gonna fix me up one of those! that thing halls ass!

  • i love these camaros i want one

  • i dont get what you mean?

  • what do I have to do to be able to use a second of this in a video?

  • reminds me of GTA4

  • for sale for 18000k if anyone wants this monster, i just got it painted and added the racing stripes.

  • my bro has a 1974 camaro w/13:1 compression try to find it his user name is highonbiankus the name of the vid is 1974 camaro 450+

  • fuck yeah man. i wana get a 2nd gen firebird. prob rebuild a chevy 350 cuz parts are more common. high compression. awesome vid

  • damn thats a bad ass 350 what all did you do to it

  • they both are spinning, if you look closely you can see 2 tire marks.

  • Maybe you really are running a full spool, and the other tire just didn't feel like spinning.

  • damn!!

i bet if you can get those to hook up, it will accelerate pretty fast.

  • i dont see how its got a peg leg when im running a full spool, people on here think they know thier shit but dont know shit

  • yea youtube people are ingorant and obnoxious

  • why do people keep posting peg leg shit! even if it was it would be on the passenger side! love the flowmasters and the paint!be a good 1/8 mile car, unless its got an od trans. i feel sorry for your tires.

  • What color is that?nice

  • its a ppg cahyenne red its a gm color but was not an original camaro color that year.

  • 4.56 gears.. yea he can accelerate real fast but his top speed aint shit

  • @garethbooth1992: Yep, that's probably the case..........unless he has a 6-speed for a tranny..........LOL.

  • Cool, you aint going to get that out of a Honda!

  • little bit of peg leg

  • whats the exact name of that color i want to paint mine like that but with two black "go faster" stripes

  • Shits pretty sick i must say

  • halls balls

  • Beautiful burgandy paint! It looks so damn good with the paint. What exhaust do you have on it?

  • peg leg!! ??

  • 4.56 is nothin! Ive got a set of 6.20's in my shop...there going into a cirlce track car...but still! lol. 11.5:1 is decent, my dirt track car has 13:1 :). put something other than a sbc in it, some 3.73's and you will have the same thing.
