you guys dont seem to realize, either way, we'll be paying higher taxes, which will hopefully boost the economy, and help the citizens in the LONG run! so what if you dont get those few extra bucks a month, most of you will probably spend it on items that aren't necessary, i.e. candy, tv, cable, etc. When you should be spending it on paying electric/water/ rent/mortage, and IRA. People will never learn and waste money.

shame on you barack obama and biden to equate patriotism and the amount of taxes i'm giving the government. ma wife and I work full time even working on weekends, were on the highest tax bracket, live in a state with a high state tax. The government takes more than 1/3 of what I earn and Barack Obama and Joe Biden wants more. No way. I'll work 3 days a week rather give my money away. Call me unpatriotic

If the government taxed us less, we could give more and be real patriots. I'm not saying that we shouldn't pay our taxes. Paying taxes is the law. But I'm just saying that taxes take away from people's ability to show voluntary kindness. Joe Biden is not advocating voluntary kindness. He's advocating an obligatory increase in taxes. That means the only reason you pay is because they'll lock you up if you don't, not because of patriotism. You can't express patriotism when it's forced upon you.

It's a fact that conservatives give more than liberals, even though they make less on average. Look up the book Who Really Cares by Arthur C. Brooks. The stats are clear. Conservatives in general give more than liberals. They just don't want to be forced to give. Taxes take away from the joy of giving because it's forced. You can't honor anyone by giving to the govn't. Private giving to private organizations is more efficient and bypass govn't bureaucracies.

I agree with Joe; IT IS TIME TO JUMP IN, and he should be the first one out of the plane with HIS check in hand made out to the IRS. Hey, Joe, it is LEGAL to write a check to the Internal Revenue Service ABOVE what is OWED on federal income tax. All you have to do is

1)PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH

2)MAKE OUT A CHECK TO THE IRS

3)SEND IT TO THEM

They will take care of the rest. They cash it, deduct the amount from your balance and deposit YOUR MONEY into the Treasury. Let me know how that goes
