  • It's the Sami version of Trololo

  • stop arguing and start appreciating it for what it is

  • Sigh. If you did a little research on tribal traditions and national dress, from Europe, to the Middle East, Central Asia, South and East Asia, Africa, South America.... You'll see that there is an enormous pantribal overlap, because many elements - adlib singing, skin and feather adornment, geometric weaving and beading, love of shiny and bright things, ceremony and mysticism - are natural and intuitive things for humans to gravitate towards.

  • i think this chat thread need a meow. meow. ok whew!

  • YOU Sami are"white". WRONG.

YOU: No DNA strand for asians". I proved you WRONG.

YOU::"white people stealing every f..ng ethnic identity from Meso americans"

Meso= 'middle' or "'central' america, meaning Mexico. (your term). WRONG.

"Powwow clothing" is worldwide. Long before indians and STILL IS.

-Please: Google Eurasian tribes like: Nenets, Evens, Yakuts- See that Eurasian tribal clothes still exist, & you won't say Sami stole anything. Unless you LIKE being an ignorant Hater, LEARN.

  • lololololololol

  • sami is not a real ethnic group

its just white people who just decided to steal every single ethnic identity from meso american people

the only thing that might be real about them is the skiing and that 4 spiked hat

  • @tureno1996 You are entirely wrong. the Sami are as ancient as the Australian aborigines. Your (perhaps, well-founded ) hatred of white people is mis-placed when you direct it at the Sami. do your research before you display such ignorance of history and embarass yourself again. The Sami were recognized by Ghengis khan, Tacitus, Linnaeus, and many other world renowned scholars and rulers for over 1,000 years.

  • @SonsofEnki yeah because ghengis khan, and all those other people went to america right?

can you explain to me why the way they dress, the way they speak, the way the fucking make tipis is somehow exactly the same as people from the americas?

and its pretty fucking obvious that they took the pow wow clothing strait from american society

i think you need to start thinking critically and say, well maybe there were some things taken from americans that people dont want to give credit to

  • @tureno1996 consider these points:.

#1 American Natives originally came from Eurasia, yes?

#2 There are STILL Native tribes from Norway to Siberia, to the Islands of Alaska, -do you doubt this?

#3 These tribes are related, yes?

#4 The Sami and many other Eurasian tribes lived in "tepees" before they became American indians in America!

--They brought the tepee with them, and are descended from the same people.

The Sami are not "invented". they are just older, related, and "Real". Grow up.

  • @SonsofEnki are you talking about the bering strait? because if you are that shit happened 12,000 years ago.

and you are pretty fucking ignorant to think that culture is not only going to stay the same for 12,000 years, but somehow all of russia and all of canada, all of the united states is going to somehow have the exact same culture during that time period.

    try to think

    JUST A LITTLE BIT

  • @tureno1996 So,"white people" are stealing Native american ideas?

Don't let FACTS stop your 'white people' bashing, but...

The Sami, who often have blonde hair, AND 'slanted' eyes, have DNA that is Asian...like 'Indians'. we are NOT exactly "White".

-Skins laid over poles in a Conical shape, is STILL used by nomads all over the world, because it works. Not an Indian 'invention'. Neither is decorated clothing.

Go blame Egypt for stealing pyramid ideas from mexico. You ARE dumb enough.

  • @SonsofEnki THERE IS NO DNA STRAND FOR "ASIANS"

there is absolutely no SCIENTIFIC way to tell if someone is asian

ethnicity is a lie created from colonialism

the only reason why someone isnt white is because of an opinion nothing more.

and what the fuck does telling me have to do with what i said?

sounds like you just got angry and wanted to say anything instead of directly addressing my argument

  • @tureno1996 @tureno1996 Try a little science, got to wikipedia: Y-DNA haplogroups by ethnic groups.

I have no emotions about this: my wife is Cherokee, her father grew up on various reservations. -Unlike you, I am not angry at anybody. I'm just trying to help you see the truth about the Sami.

If you won't listen to the science, the Sami, the historians, OR ANYTHING but yourself; then just go on making things up, based on 'emotional-logic', like a kid. YOU WIN OK? GOODBYE

  • NOW I understand: Native americans "invented" dressing in decorated skins, conical huts covered in skins, singing, dancing, the spear, the bow, and even FIRE.

    DNA is a lie.

    So is all science.

History is ALL invented by colonial white people.

There are NO indigenous people allowed to be using ANY of the 'inventions' listed above, except native americans. If they are: "They STOLE it."

    Archaeology is a LIE.

Anyone who says otherwise should listen to "tureno1996".

I did. Now I am smart.

  • @SonsofEnki and by the way... what the fuck does DNA have to do with stealing a pow wow costume?

they dont even have pow wow in mexico, yes somehow its EXACTLY the same in europe

    strange isnt it?

  • i visited a samish trek a few years ago, today they did not even start the trek anymore and settled down to take regular jobs...

  • I believe it is Mari Boine - you will find her stuff here - brilliant

  • is the sami people older than basque?

  • Well, at least a good chunk of the Sami peoples' ancestors have lived in Northern Europe since the recession of the ice sheets, having migrated to there from ice age refugia France and Spain around 10,000 or so years ago.

But I believe the Sami languages are younger than the Basque language (perhaps even as young as the Iron Age according to the Sami/Finnish scholar Ante Aikio). (Continued below:)

  • The most common paternal (genetic) haplogroup of the Sami, haplogroup N, is also common in other Finno-Ugric peoples, and migrated to North/Northeastern Europe and Northern Siberia from China around 10,000 years ago. Since the Sami (and Finnish) languages have a considerable language substrate from an unknown Paleolithic European language, one might infer that the Finno-Ugric languages were introduced via intermarriage with those men carrying paternal haplogroup N. (Continued below:)

  • Anyhow, "Sami" as an ethnicity and group of languages is thus somewhat young relative to Basque, but regardless, there is still a great cultural continuity from Paleolithic to modern times in Sami inhabited areas.

  • Well, the people that became the Basque's have been in the area for well over 40000 years.

  • why were they called the songs of the devil?

I dont understand why they should think of the Yoiks as such.

  • pathetic little soul you have

  • I'm Sami, Free Sapmi. Pressure Russia into allowing the Sami placed in the Kola Peninsula back into their true homeland.

  • every swedish is not same u ost be born whit it !!! i am a same ... and im proud of it :D

  • speaking as an outsider I think it's possible to be proud of Sámi and Swedish heritage at the same time

just like Germans can be proud of being German without being Nazis

  • I love this so much right now.

  • This is a beautiful compliation of songs! It's so lilting and pretty, I wish I could do this. Nicely done.

  • SWEDISH ARE NOT SAAMI!!!!!!!!!

    whe are the only!!!

    LAPLAND FREE

    Vapaus

  • It's good that many saami have developed strong and proud, even personalities and that they are proud for what they are. I really hope that the old saami shamanic religion can get a new grip among its people in a near future (partly already has). The swedish church is to blame for pain and opression of the saami people that were in the 16-1800's, but I hope that swedes and saami won't carry any guilt or sorrow by the ancestors.

  • i am proud to be SAAMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good! Sometimes I wish I weren't swedish, we have very hard to express our swedish personalities part from many saami I think.
