Shinobido is most-likely a quick slap-together of the Shinobido for the PS2.

Witch was better than ANY tenchu game to date.

The reasoning, is that Shhnobido was made by the original creators OF tenchu,

As for the PSP versions, It's most-likely that both are just slapped together garbage,but Tenchu had more funding than shinobido.

I do realize that the original creators are behind Shinobido, but when I play those games, all kinds of things that let you know the game's polish is simply absent. Physics are off, movesets are limited, quantity comes without quality...

When I played Time of the Assasins, I could really tell they weren't pulling any punches, because they adapted all the best aspects of the series into one game and filled up the UMD completely.

PSP wise I never played either of them, but I own all of the tenchu games from the last generations, even played threw Tenchu Z for the 360, Shinobido For the PS2 had way more depth in the missions and mechanics,even the story.If you haven't, you might boot it up on an emulator (runs flawlessly) for the PS2 if you haven't played it,(limit again .) "It was more,PSP bad"

@TLRtheory I agree with Marazish. Shinobido was way better than any Tenchu game. The physics may have been off, but Tenchu didn't even have physics or ragdolls. Shinobido had different mission types where you could pick your own path through the story by working for the different war lords. Plus Shinobido had the awesome ninja item mixing/recipe feature, which allowed you to make huge bombs and strong speed/strength potions. Shinobido also has the against wall corner stealth kill.

@TLRtheory Time of Assisins was good, also Tenchu 4... but I hate the camera, feels a bit too close and has narrow view, they should've made the view a bit farther. but I love shinobido besides the fact that you cant choose items for a mission. lots of unlockable characters and unique move set... (and a girl can do kagebunshin XD). it's one of my first psp games and is one of my fave...

This game is very good. But with normal characters (not ninjas) you cannot execute, then you cannot stealth kill your enemies which makes you get less points in the end of the level... in the end you cannot unlock more characters because you dont have enough points cause you cant stealth kill...

thats the unique thing i didnt like, since i couldnt unlock 2 characters because of that...

I like Tenchu TOTA, but I can't see anything in front of me which is REALLY annoying. Shadow Assassins was still pretty good even though I didn't like the slow pace of the game.

Actually this game really resembles the first tenchu games for the psx (Which I consider one of the most fun action games on that console) However, new tenchu games have lost some of that charm, yes, they look amazing but it gets old really quick.

The problem with Homura is that it has less rendering capabilities, ie. rain, facial expression, explosive barrel collision,wooden dominos falling, sliding doors falling apart, etc.

Sort of disappointing when playing custom missions.

There are unique similarities in Tenchu 2 and Shinobido for PS2, in that they both have a level editor. Serious fun! Making levels extended the fun of playing the games.

I think in some ways, I like this game Ｂｅｔｔｅｒ than Tenchu just for the gameplay alone. Shinobido has wall-running， Tenchu has none of that. Shinobido also has LOTS more stealth kill situations than Tenchu, which I love. You can kill from around corners, while hanging above, while hanging below, in water, while enemies are examining items... Tenchu has none of that.

This is without a doubt the single best psp game I have ever played.

So far gameplay hasn't changed from ps2 thankfully.

Although it might be a rip off from tenchu, it still beats all the tenchu games released for psp/Wii to date.

 I mean look how Tenchu 4 sold out, no ability to fight when caught unless you happened to pick up a sword.

Rikkimaru and the other ninjas now rely on boxes to scale walls.

Whereas in Shinobido you can use a grappling hook, wall jump/wallrun.

I can't even compare Shinobido to Tenchu 4 because Tenchu 4 doesn't even achieve that level of gameplay. (Hello! grappling hook is gone, as well as the fun of evading/close combat without being killed OVER AND OVER.)

I have played Tenchu 1-3 (all good), not too sure about Fatal Shadows, but I repealed interest in the game knowing Rikkimaru wasn't going to appear in it.

Tenchu's got better gameplay, is more polished, has better controls, a better storyline, better level creation, larger and more creative levels... it just overall kicks shinobido's ass at everything.

...shinobido's faster, I'll give it that, but the controls and collision are so ridiculous that even the speed turns against you.

atleast the gameplay in shinobido atleat ps2 is much better than tenchu (atleast before tenchu senran or Z) you could do fast running and faster rolling etc and the main char in the shinobi suit u unlock looks like a real ninja....but i liek tenchu too ive played tenchu's on psx and ps2 and i have the xbox version tenchu return from the darkness and ive finished it though i hated all the demons because they are a pain in the ass

Yes and no. There is a way to get custom levels in this game, but unlike PSP's Tenchu title, there's no included level creator.

In order to get custom levels, you'll have to import the PS2 Shinobido game and download levels from your memory card to the PSP version... what's worse is that it's still very limited.
